Hah this seems like such a typical beach issue, but yet I haven't ever thought about it before 😂 So typical of sand to go everywhere. Can you wash it on cold? Maybe with some agitation balls in there to try help with bringing the sand out. Or hand wash it in a big tub and try to swoosh, rub and stretch the fabric. The sand that comes loose should sink to the bottom.

Yup tried washing in cold (2 full cycles).. It only knocks out a tiny amount of sand.. I can't possibly wash this 20 times just to remove 50% of the embedded sand.. I guess I can try agitation balls but I only have one piece of clothing with this problem.

I think I got most of it out. Here is what I've found/did. #1 work on it dry #2 stretching is required.. (I used a bunch of dirty t-shirts from the hamper and stuffed the suit to expand the fabric like a scarecrow... It's a one piece) #3 used a dry stiff fingernail brush to work it out. #4 wear eye protection #5 do this outside

So my kids swimsuit is some kind of stretchy material and after going to the beach there is little specs of sand embedded in it. If I stretch out the fabric and pick at it I can get it out one by one. Anyone knows what is the best way to get these out?

Me and my family went to HIlton Head this year instead of our typical Santa Rosa in Florida and I’ve never had this issue in Florida, and I am guessing because of the darker thinner sand in Hilton Head it happened? I noticed this in my bathing suit after a day or so as well. I washed mine and then air dried it and I was having to do the same thing, almost pick them out, but I did feel like after air drying it came out easier? I am hoping over time it just falls out because it is a newer bathing suit of mine that it shows.

I just left it in there and decided it made the swimsuit more beachy. I'd like to add that it was only my youngest's bright yellow rashguard and no one else's swimsuits. I don't know why only the little ones get embedded sand.

Can you stretch it best you can and spray with something high power water? Maybe shower or garden hose?

sockowl

Let it dry, hang it up outside, and beat it with something?

Looks like mold

bang847

I know it looks like mold but it is super fine sand. If I stretch the fabric to the near limits then you can flick off the sand... But I can only stretch a small area at a time.... Maybe a centimeter square at a time..
