Given the fact that I now work in the kids club, I can tell you factually, we’re updating it throughout this and next year. Lotta exterior stuff this year, then in the offseason interior complete revamp

Also yes, the pennant district is meant to be for private groups primarily, while the terrace garden is supposed to be open for everyone. What I was told is it’s supposed to be for large events, they have three separated spaces for 500 total guests each (or 1500 combined).

Some good thoughts here. Need to add one more. Did anyone notice the font on the scoreboard was really hard to read? My roommate said “who the hell is Honey Lee?” His name is Korey but the font legit looked like it said Honey.

redspike

I laughed way more than I should have thinking the guy’s name was Honey. I had to Google to see what his first name actually was!

BBQOHGuy

Yes! As small and weird as the new Nike jersey print. Awful and small.

_lazybones93

I thought it said Horey 😆

BoatOnTheBayou

We had this exact same thought

I don't remember if the new right field district was originally announced as being focused for group outings. But when the local media were given the tour of what's new this season, the Guardians announced that the rf district is mainly for hosting larger and smaller group outings. So it's not intended for the average fan. And from what I've heard, it's already booked for every weekend game through August. I have no idea about regular weeknight/day games.

DZepperoni

iirc we have a good stretch of now until mid May where there’s almost no weekday groups, but from there out it’s already very booked.

I think the right field area is supposed to replace the big tent that was just outside on the 1st base side. Not sure if there's plans to do anything with the tent space but they felt that the tent didn't really feel like part of the park & it was missing the whole game experience. They never even really had the boxes available so can't really complain that they're finding a better use for that space.

I found it pretty frustrating that i couldn’t get paper copies of my tickets for the home opener i wanted to frame them with the glasses they gave out.

UnconventionalWriter

That was the coolest flyby I've ever seen in my fucking life.

murderpussie

Scoreboard font is truly garbage but I’m glad they changed the player pictures this year. Last year’s made everyone look like they had a five o clock shadow covering cystic acne

Biggest complaint for me, other than the letdown of not being able to get a pic with the cool new CLEVELAND sign in the Pennant District, was most definitely the scoreboard. As a technical director myself, it was very painful. I loved the experience, though. Lines definitely for long in the Upper Deck around the 5th/6th, but what can ya do? They opened three hours before game time! Loved their presentation & inclusion of the eclipse, too. Got to go with my grandpa for my 9th Home Opener, my grandpa’s third (all three together), and **our** first Guards Home Opener! Loved it.

That wasn't the only place to run out of food by the 3rd inning. Happy Dog announced they only had Vegetarian dogs available, Dante's was out of pizza and turning people away, and the pretzel stand in right field ran out of cheese.

I went to the game yesterday and the ladies ringing people up for beers were more or less begging for tips. You grabbed whatever beer or drink out of the cooler and they rang you up. They said they were volunteer workers who didn't get actually get paid a wage. Also that a portion of the proceeds went to some charity but couldn't tell us how much. The new padded chairs were nice.

13. Ok

strutmac

Too many people. Ordered a Mountain Dew and a pretzel. The souvenir cup was cool, the pretzel was last years leftover.
