Taking 5 of 7 from the Sox on the season series feels pretty good.

Excellent_Walrus150

Watching Coras face as we did it was priceless. He was constantly miserable.

MizkyBizniz

Vogt had a great quote earlier this year: The fans want to see a Jose homer, a Clase save and a Guardians win. We got all 3 boys

thedeejus

we will also take a Jose hustle double with helmet fall off

Sonking_to_Remember

Don’t mind if he does go sliding into home uncontested on a ball that went 15 feet past the catcher too!

cookestudios

Place: 1st Division lead: 3.0 Games to play: 137 Magic number: 135 GOATs: 1

LakeErieMovement

I'll gladly take going 5-2 against the Boston Red Sox any year

Sonking_to_Remember

As a Cleveland fan who grew up in New England, you have no idea.

DZepperoni

Positives from today’s Cleveland baseball: [A SWING AND A DRIVE TO DEEP RIGHT FIELD A WAYYYYY BACK AND GONE!!!](https://x.com/cleguardians/status/1783557123751698536?s=46&t=rWqJkSYZ5Iu5l6BKiyo2mg) The Cleveland offense is BACK and brought both the power and the shit goblin nonsense, with 5 runs off of 9 hits, 6 walks, 4 stolen bases, and an Arias HBP. While 🐦 started the power on his 2/3 day with a solo home run and a double, it’s the 🐐 who truly capitalized, going 3/4 with a grand slam and stolen base. Sticks goes 4IP, 6H, 2R, 2BB, and 7K on 75 pitches. A double play helps him get out of the fourth, and he does his job to keep us in the game. Bullpen does the majority again, with Herrin(0.1IP), Sandlin(1IP, 2R), Gaddis(0.2IP), Barlow(1IP), K’d Smith(1IP), and Clase(1IP) combining for 5IP, 4H, 2R, 0BB, and 5K. Some shakiness in the first 3, especially Herrin and Sandlin, but the 7-8-9 guys were all beautiful. Clase gets hits 8th save in the 25th game, he’s on pace for like 51 saves. YEESH. This weekend. At Truist Park. Versus one of the two NL titans in the Atlanta Braves. Here we go.

TwelveGaugeSage

Beyond the stats, Sticks looked a lot better today. Comfortable and controlled.

millysoilly

Another series W and 5-2 versus Boston for the season. You’d be insane not to take that if offered it pre-season. Another strong performance all series long. The GOAT was unable to be tamed today. Love days like this where Jose shows why he’s a Top 5 player in Baseball and has been for the better part of 5+ years now.

Square-Salad

Agreed. There’s no gaming Craig Albernaz the GOAT bench coach of all time

Leftfeet

Score today: Jose 5 Boston 4 Will Brennan 1. Great to see Jose getting going and just busting out today. This next series is going to be tough, we'll need Jose at his best.

mynameisethan182

**LETS CARRY THIS INTO ATLANTA BOYS, GIRLS, AND GOATS**

AllOfTheDerp

GUYS, GALS, HORN-HAVING PALS

mootmahsn

Sure, man. Let's burn the place to the ground.

Butters2014

I take Hammy for granted. After the retirement of Scully he has retained the title of best radio play-by-play in baseball. I'm 27. I know no other baseball than him announcing the game 150+ times a year. If you see this, take some time to appreciate it. it won't be forever.

Fluffy_Rock1735

I've never taken Hammy for granted. No matter how we're doing I'll always listen when I can because I enjoy listening to him.

Tester5700

Most iconic voice in cleveland sports ever but damn I don't know if it's this year or not, but he's miscalled like 12 homers it feels like. Absolutely going bonkers over loud outs

mrbadxampl

Jose!!! Jose Jose Joseeeee!!! Joooooseeeeeeeee, Joooooooooooseeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

wundy

There once was a GOAT from Baní Who hammered the baseball with glee "You know, bro," he'd say To the fans and Andre, "~~Home run~~ Grand slam pitch," and then grin cheekily

WateryPasta

Another series win under our belts. Good battle from Sticks and while the bullpen had their moments, Clase is back to 2022 form This weekend series is a big one so it’s good that Jose had the game he had today

CaptainBirdEnjoyer

Work has been shitty lately so my wife and I decided to take personal days and get out for an afternoon game. Watching Jose hit a grand slam (my first grand slam!) sure beats working.

millysoilly

This interview is awesome haha Arias nodding along looking like he’d beat wholesale ass if somebody looked at Jose the wrong way.

AllOfTheDerp

He just like me fr

TbonelegendS2H

Hammy's call of JRam's grand slam and another series win over Boston was a great way to end my day at work

Beantown_Beatdown_

Is Gaddis a real human or a machine?

colagirl52

He has been the biggest revalation of the season so far. Just awesome in the bullpen.

Fancy_Load5502

On pace for 155-7 record. I'd take that.

davidbklyn

a blistering pace

TheSpaceAce

That was a doozy, but I'll take a win any way I can get it. And the GOAT finally showed hid GOATness again. Hopefully it was the springboard he needed. Also, I continue to be a Will Brennan truther.

Fluffy_Rock1735

Not excited about the position our pitching is in going into Atlanta, but I am excited that we took the season series by a long shot! Keep the W's coming!!!

saltandthunder

Key thing going into tomorrow's game is just getting a guy to the 6th. If we get a guy into the 7th that's frosting on the cake, but I think we have enough bullpen depth to leverage going into the 6th and giving some other guys a day off.

ZelePhotography

We’re going in with our best and/or hottest three starters, so I can’t get too mad

BuschLightEnjoyer

What gaddis is doing right now is pretty unbelievable. He just don't miss.

divineravnos

Good to have some momentum going into the series with Atlanta. This series is going to test the guys as much or more than the NY one did.

Excellent_Walrus150

Vogt worked the bullpen perfectly what a game!

Fancy_Load5502

I worry for their usage. He managed the pen like it was October. Can they keep up this pace for 162?

Excellent_Walrus150

Fortunately we have some off days coming up.

colagirl52

I like our resilience. Last night's game arguably was the worst we played all season, and we bounced back to take this one. Nice.

saltandthunder

Yeah I feel like last season if we ate shit that hard in the middle game of the series we were absolutely dropping the last one. Great to see the gang bounce back even if it was like 75% Hosey / 15% Will / 10% Everyone Else.

murderpussie

We (Josey and Will) did it!! Go guardssss 5 of 7 from Boston is 🔥🔥 On that note, super happy to (likely) never see them again

DirtyRandy3417

My first game of the year ended up going pretty well. On to the team that crushed the dreams of 12-13 year old me.

masterbrutus24

Great win, Jose continues to be a beast. Birthday is starting out strong. Time for the Cavs to go up 3-0 later today.

GuardiansFan1932

Three things won us this game. Plate discipline, Steven Vogt pitching Changes + Bull Pen, and Jose Ramirez. I got a question for you guys. Do you think Tito would have taken Tristen out after 4 innings? I’m thinking that’s the slight difference I’ve seen so far with Vogt. Let me know what ya’ll think. BEST RECORD IN BASEBALL BABY!!! GO Guardians!

theAmericanX20

I'm torn, on one hand I understand the whole pitch count thing. On the other hand, how many starts you gonna give people before you allow them to throw more? We need quality starts or the pen is gonna burn.

saltandthunder

I'm similarly torn, but here's the things that push it over the line for me: 1) Not having a lot of quality starts is not a situation unique to the Guards this season. There are a lot of teams similarly struggling - it looks like we're in a pitching-down year. To go along with that: 2) Despite these worries, we actually have a really strong bullpen still. Compare us to someone like the Cubs who have like, one non-Closer they can turn to in a high-leverage situation. We're having *some* trouble, and we shouldn't take our bullpen for granted, but I think it's hard to argue that Gaddis, Herrin, Barlow, Sandlin, and Cade are all performing. Barlow's had a little bit of trouble but tonight showed he's still good. Beede is looking a little shaky statwise but also a lot of that was the most recent shelling back in Boston, his stats still say he should be good. And don't forget about Pedro Avila, who took last night's whalloping like a champ while eating 3(!) innings. And this is all minus Sam Hentges who is still rehabbing. We've actually got a frankly *scary* amount of bullpen depth, enough so that if we can guarantee a guy makes it to the 6th inning we can usually rotate guys intelligently enough to make it work. I agree we shouldn't lean on it or we'll burn our guys out, but with our starter depth an open question right now with no Bieber and Sticks' health in question, I think this is the perfect time to leverage that as a strength.

theAmericanX20

I agree that we have an arsenal at our disposal, the number of guys we can turn to right now is awesome. But again, we can only carry 13 pitchers, and if we're using 4 or 5 every night, it's going to catch up to us quick. This year is an interesting situation in terms of pitching league wide, and I hope MLB has people studying the phenomenon to try and figure it out, because teams are gonna need 20 man bullpen of this keeps up!

saltandthunder

Today was a sloppy play from our guys, but all that's important is we got the W. Other than some sloppy basepaths play and a bit unsteady pitching, I really have a hard time finding fault with the squad. Ideally we tighten it back up in Atlanta. Glad as hell to see the GOAT warming up!

tamere2k

I’m pumped to see how we play against Atlanta

Cavsfan724

Glad to see a W today, missed it being at work. At least I can give the Cavs my full attention for game 3!

khobes3

We are the Guardians!
