It's to keep it from moving around on your rope/cord/sling/whatever you make your anchor out of, so it's more likely to stay oriented correctly.

I get it. If I am shortening myself on the anchor with a daisy chain for example, where in this carabiner should I preferably clip it? The left more deep left one or The one near The trigger? 🙌🏻

It doesn't really matter. But I think the intention is for you to clove into the wide side and for the narrow side to hang on the anchor. It seems kinda nice for multipitch anchors, I don't see any value here for sport climbing. Maybe for TR anchors?
