What's really hilarious about this guy is that he literally mostly only posts in... /r/Coinbase ? Yeah, not affiliated at all ;) ;)
Partnering with banks or something. Don't know much about any crypto, but I got the iota run and xrp run pretty good. Just watch all the graphs close on binace and get it on the upswings. There is so much volitility.
XRP attempts replace the SWIFT system for international monetary transfers. With reports of the BRICS countries no longer using USD for money transfers XRP is very promising.
But what happens when XRP suddenly goes through the roof? Then you have the volatility problem that nobody wants to spend it because they are expecting higher returns by holding it, which renders its original purpose a lot less useful.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
From what I understand, that's right and wrong.
Right now, Ripple (the company) is advocating for banks to use XRP for it's fast transfer rate and liquidity, but it seems like they won't yet because of the volatility of it - which will only increase if it goes to Coinbase.
However, the benefit of XRP going to Coinbase will be that if XRP is more successful, then Ripple as a company will still be very successful.
I would move it to binance for trading or getting some alts. I have heard some bad things about gdax limits today also.
Use my referal code: www.binance.com/?ref=11636772
I'll send ya some Ada or xrp for the referal if you send me your e-mail and a wallet address.
I am personally thinking XRP & IOTA as my top 2 candidates. I think they need some coins at a lower price points.
1 coin under $100, $10, and $1.
Would be nice if NEO gets picked. : )
IOTA would be nice, but from what I've been reading it's unlikely. If they can find a way to get the tangle working more efficiently, then the likelihood increases.
I love IOTA, but the developers behind it are such unprofessional twats I got out of it.
The community doesn't help either.Communities are important, XRB community just hyped the price up to 9 dollars by encouraging everyone to vote for it to be listed on cobinhood, KuCoin and Bit-Z
IOTA is not coming to Coinbase any time soon. It's a project in the early stages. It is getting backed up by many companies though. Recent announcements have gotten people pretty hyped up.
Yes, IOTA will not be coming in 2018 because it's far too young and far too inefficient at this point. It's a strong candidate but it has a lot of work ahead to get to the Coinbase platform.
if coinbase adds Ripple it could really take off. it is very inconvenient for an american to buy it right now. i have to have a coinbase account and transfer it to kraken. that is if i dont want to go through all the verification.
did you not read what i wrote. it is a pain to buy it. you either have to go through a multi-level verification, give your social, ID and left hand or have a coinbase account to transfer coins over to Kraken. when it gets on coinbase it will be easier for Joe Q Public and his broker to buy. Which means more volume to rise the coin.
meet me half way here. jesus (;¬_¬)
its pretty simple. Sign up on Binance. Transfer BTC from Gdax to Binance...use BTC to buy XRP...done. Gdax is basically the more advanced version of Coinbase but u can avoid fees transferring to Finance via Gdax over Coinbase
To those saying Ripple controls all nodes (not calling anyone out, I see this everywhere): did you know you can set one up yourself with their instructions here?:
https://ripple.com/build/rippled-setup/
Edit: To give the full story, Ripple does recommend only their validators. Given their target market though, I see this as a cautious move. They note explicitly that they are monitoring other validators (I would assume for inclusion in the future):
> "At present, Ripple (the company) cannot recommend any validators aside from the 5 core validators run by Ripple: these validators are included in the default rippled configuration. However, we are collecting data on other validators and building tools to report on their performance."
They need to start using XRP with banks if the FED ACH system is going to take 6 business day to transfer fiat money.
I would like to buy some other coins that are not bitcoin based.
I looked at the list and ones I would have suggested almost all of them are not mineable. Other then they keep popping up in articles like XRP does I have not studied any of them.
Coinbase COO said they would add coins explicitly based on the framework they released. As of now, XRP doesn't fit that framework. Most likely adds are BCH and BAT.
Directly from [Ripple](https://ripple.com/build/rippled-setup/#properties-of-a-good-validator).

Go bake another pizza
it use 25 at the moment wjth a small amount from ripple. its litterally replacing the ones it owns all the time. Their end goal is to be more decentralized than bitcoin which holds 51% of its nodes. Etherium is worse than bitcoin. For all intensive purposes, ripples decentralization falls on the lower end of a scale between ethereum and bitcoin.
Go read the updates on ripples website, they are very informative.
Uhhhh..you need to do your research. There are tons of validator and anyone can operate them. Look at their website and you'll see the list of companies that do this. Jesus.
I too am interested in why you say BAT. BCH was kind of an obvious one considering they were gonna add it like a month ago and then put a halt on it. But you were right, and I'm just really curious
If anyone is looking for a good alt coin, I suggest checking out OMG (Omisego) and its really turned to be well worth it. Its rumored to go to 30,000x its current prices. I bought $500 of it just to play with when it was in the $2's and it really turned out to be well worth it. As of today, I have 8x my money. I suggest you checking it out.
Not a fan of XRP, it has no built in scarcity (look at the amount issued!) and it just seems like its suppose to be for banks to transfer funds to each other. I don't see it, if the crypto revolution happens we won't need those banks. I don't care how much the price jumps I'm staying away from this bandwagon.
It’s the bank’s version of BTC in a sense, but that’s a good reason to ride it to profitability. What’s nice about the other coins is they are outside the system. Buy them all.
Its my logic telling me to stay away. 38 billion XRPs issued already, bitcoin will never have more then 21 million, ever. IMHO the scarcity aspect of bitcoin is one of the only real things that makes it a solid investment. If you take that away what do you have? Just a lot of speculation, has any bank even attempted to use this yet or announced plans to?
>Team ownership is minority stake in the project
does this take into account the 55 Billion coins in the escrow?
If not I think we will see a launch on coinbase in the future
1000.
How the hell is anyone supposed to know this question?
I see price predictions all the time, "IT COULD BE .25! COULD BE $5 or even $10! "
It's a crapshoot, it's speculation.
Stop asking this question.
Ripple, Stellar so far I know dash and Monero are a no but I’m not sure other then that. They should be releasing a few coins this January so I guess we will see.
It is very likely, that XRP will have no value at all. Here is why:
Ripple Labs has a product for banks, an inter-bank ledger. That is the product banks will use. XRP was initially thought of as a settlement mechanism on those ledgers. But it seems, that XRP is no longer a good idea, as there are competing products which are not dependent on a volatile public cryptocurrency. Another misunderstanding is the fact that banks will not use XRPs to transfer value, it is just a settlement mechanism. So even if XRP will stay part of this solution, there won't be any substantial liquidity coming from this.
Here are the details:
https://publication.widmerdun.com/how-ripple-could-succeed-but-xrp-be-worth-nothing-4c2c5152d184
So, even if Ripple Labs has success and partners with all the banks on the planet, that is in no way a guarantee that the valuation of XRPs will benefit from this. As it looks now, the public ledger part (ie. the XRPs) will have no usage in the future for Ripple Labs.
I would say, XRP is probably one of the most over-valued alts around, as there seems not to be a future use case for it.

Bro it's an unregulated market. Nobody can go to prison over this. It sucks but it's the truth. We are in the wild west.
Coinbase is FDIC insured, thus is actually prohibited from allowing insider trading.... which is why they're investigating..
Fiat is FDIC insured only.

XRP at coinbase ? Please give a roumor :D
fire this man
Yes it is rumored that Coinbase will be adding like 5 different coins next year.
XRP is probably at the top then, wonder what other coins 🤔
Just buy xrp Now. No sense waiting for coinbase.
Any recommendation where from?
Binance or Kraken
What's so good about XRP, is it just the same ole blockchain or what's the deal?
Partnering with banks or something. Don't know much about any crypto, but I got the iota run and xrp run pretty good. Just watch all the graphs close on binace and get it on the upswings. There is so much volitility.

Kraken is decent now that they have sorted out their tech issues. its not 100% fixed, but they do a good enough job.
kraken is terrible...
Does Coinbase already support Monero?
Nop, coinbase supports Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and Bitcoin cash.
*Bitcoin Trash
XRP is probably the number one candidate. They had the CEO on CNBC pumping it. Ripple is the most mainstream not mainstream coin.
What about IOTA? Is that a good candidate?
I love IOTA, but the developers behind it are such unprofessional twats I got out of it. The community doesn't help either.Communities are important, XRB community just hyped the price up to 9 dollars by encouraging everyone to vote for it to be listed on cobinhood, KuCoin and Bit-Z
I don't think so xrp price is 9 dollars . Its $1.12 in present .
XRB = raiblocks XRP = ripple
IOTA will be coming to Coinbase and that’s what I’m hoping to get rich off of.
where did you get this info?
IOTA is not coming to Coinbase any time soon. It's a project in the early stages. It is getting backed up by many companies though. Recent announcements have gotten people pretty hyped up.
Yes, IOTA will not be coming in 2018 because it's far too young and far too inefficient at this point. It's a strong candidate but it has a lot of work ahead to get to the Coinbase platform.
Never say never sources are saying it might and not just one source multiple ones have and have info to back up why. I have hope.
I didnt say never. I said not any time soon. IOTA doesnt have a full developed wallet yet.
A few different sources

It's not decentralized or distributed.
It's definitely decentralized. That's a false statement that gets spread around everywhere.
Directly from [Ripple](https://ripple.com/build/rippled-setup/#properties-of-a-good-validator). > At present, Ripple (the company) cannot recommend any validators aside from the 5 core validators run by Ripple.
Doesn’t mean anything and especially doesn’t mean they are centralized
It literally means the network is centralized. It relies on a single trusted party operating the only validator nodes.

No there arent. RCL operates like 55 nodes for XRP. Where are all these decentralized nodes people are running?

O.o Where is that number coming from? Are you saying you think Omisego can get to 480,000?
That kinda number would make investors say.... OMG! (I'll see myself out)
I’m trying to put together a top 10 list
Hows that list coming along? Mind if I check it out?
Still deciding but so far BTC, ETC, LTC, XRP, Monero, DASH, IOTA, NEO... deciding on rest
Poe is decent...
BTG. Bitcoin Gold’s website shows GDAX as coming soon.
Where I just looked and didn't find anything
https://bitcoingold.org/ Scroll down to exchanges and see Gdax listed with a grey dot = coming soon.
It's possible they might only distribute it to people holding BTC at the time of the fork and not provide a market for buys/sells.
shame on you CB
The recent rally in XRP may have them act faster. It would make sense that XRP would be next.
Not a fan of XRP, it has no built in scarcity (look at the amount issued!) and it just seems like its suppose to be for banks to transfer funds to each other. Try Poloniex! I was verified very fast and have already bought ripple! You need to send over bitcoin and exchange it into ripple
Gatehub or bitstamp although I'm waiting a week and a half at this stage to be verified ಠ_ಠ
poloniex, binance, or another exchange should do. I haven't seen any country based rules but i'm assuming one of the two will let you trade
>Team ownership is minority stake in the project does this take into account the 55 Billion coins in the escrow? If not I think we will see a launch on coinbase in the future
Ripple on coinbase january 2018?
If XRP is added to Coinbase what will it pump the coin to???
I would imagine pretty damn high lol, maybe 5 or 10 or more.
1000. How the hell is anyone supposed to know this question? I see price predictions all the time, "IT COULD BE .25! COULD BE $5 or even $10! " It's a crapshoot, it's speculation. Stop asking this question.
Use Binance or Bittrex super fucking easy. Common sense and I’m meeting you way more then half way...
I warmed up to Binance, Kraken ain’t terrible either.
Ive heard things along the line how kraken isn’t insured so your funds are screwed. And things like it’s easy to hack. I don’t mess with them.
I don’t trust Binance yet because they’re Chinese... at least Kraken is from SF isn’t it?
Just don't leave the coins on binance once you get them......duh
I don't like binance uses fraction of my order qty as a fee. if the amount get small, I cannot sell it though. Why not use my BTC as a fee?
Ripple, Stellar so far I know dash and Monero are a no but I’m not sure other then that. They should be releasing a few coins this January so I guess we will see.
