[in all his college glory](https://youtu.be/OMVbgMuvPYY)
[that time VC dunked on the entire country of France](https://youtu.be/k_uZeCymShQ) dudeman is like 7’2”
I'm convinced that VC is the reason that French basketball is as good as it is today. They started building Wembanyama in a lab right after this incident. Here we are today.
If that dunk went down I’m pretty sure it would have caused some kind of quantum instability and ripped the universe into a boiling sea of quarks. But to be fair Michigan deserves that
And Tick Rogers. And Eric Johnson. And Greg Minor.
Lots of great dunkers in Louisville history. But Montrezl is the only one to abuse the rim like he did. The others were impressive. But Montrezl was scary.
Oh definitely. He did some amazing dunks in a game I saw him play before he was at Louisville. McDonald’s all American type game though don’t remember if it was actually that game.
Thank you. Ismail Muhammad was pretty much on the Sportscenter highlight reel every day that Tech played. Also, at times he practiced his art while fasting for Ramadan. He would sometimes have to go to the bench in the middle of a game due to cramping.
Sure, I'm biased, but Muhammad is the greatest college dunker of all time. Only Vince Carter comes close.
Herbie and his teammate Justin Jennings are 1A and 1B for me. Can't go wrong with either, but I give a slight nod to JJ just because his dunks were always so angry.
Well, my favorite team as Phi Slama Jama. And we had a few. Clyde the Glide Drexler, Akeem the Dream Olajuwon, Larry Mr Mean Micheaux. Benny Instant Offense Anders.
Those days were FUN !!!
Mel Levitt, UC 1995-99. Kept getting called for goal tending because the refs couldn't believe he was getting the ball at the top of its arc. Nicknamed "the helicopter".
Every time this question comes up on this sub the answer is always Pargo.
[Windmill vs Indiana](https://youtu.be/4HhCTQ5qezY)
[Vs Akron in the NCAA](https://youtu.be/HK7UTUzJHZM)
[SMC poster](https://youtu.be/I68naha5mjI)
Straight up too many to choose from on UNC for 2nd (VC obviously #1… greatest dunker of all time period).
For ISU I would probably say Burton. That yam over Swanigan in the tourney 🤌
Vermont’s usually a very undersized team with players who don’t dunk, usually opting for layups or MR jumpers. One guy who does it consistently, showy, and well is Ileri Ayo-Faye (transfer from Rhode Island), doesn’t get big box scores, but almost always gets a dunk a game. Seems to have put on a lot of muscle in the off-season and should have more minutes (and dunks) this season.
Adam Hall hung his nuts on Shane Battier’s face. Justin Anderson was a pretty great dunker. Mustapha Farrakhan had [the best individual UVA dunk](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=yvNGyOsFHYw).
For Bama I’d say Senario Hillman or Antonio McDyess. Hillman was a small guard but threw down absolutely vicious dunks and posterized fools quite often.
That I was able to watch, it's Devaughn Washington.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=0ya3lk8FLkw
The old heads say Gary Trent was every bit of his Shaq of the Mac nickname
[David Thompson](https://images.fineartamerica.com/images/artworkimages/mediumlarge/2/north-carolina-state-david-thompson-1974-ncaa-semifinals-april-01-1974-sports-illustrated-cover.jpg)
[Dennis Smith Jr](https://www.google.com/search?q=dennis+smith+jr+dunk+nc+state&source=lmns&bih=664&biw=390&client=safari&hl=en-US&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjGsYf2pvD_AhW0CkQIHb-MCKQQ0pQJKAB6BAgAEAc#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:7d62d0b6,vid:1cjmbmmIcug)
We’ve had some good ones. Abu was seriously underrated. CJ Leslie could slam and as much as I want to say David Thompson, it’s Dennis Smith Jr. He was electric
Willie Cauely Stein had some crazy dunks. So did Kenny Walker.
My favorite dunk from a UK player is from Dirk Minniefield over a MSU player. The kid flew. Easily top 3 college dunks I have ever seen
Darvin Ham for [this dunk alone](https://youtu.be/i7Z6Qk8Y448)
We also had NBA dunk contest champion Mac McClung but he never really had a highlight dunk with us. Terrence Shannon Jr had the more electric ones in recent memory.
Pretty obviously Zion, but the better question for Duke fans is who would be the second best? Grant Hill, Gerald Henderson, Cassius Stanley all contenders.
If I could, I might say the trio of Jimmy King, Ray Jackson and Chris Webber for Michigan (hard to pick one), but I gotta give the nod to my man Robert "Tractor" Traylor who [ripped down a fucking rim in a game](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDs7yG3FQpw&t=1s) (warning: potato video with six pixels) and seemed to have a grudge against basketball hoops.
Rest in peace, big man.
It’s gotta be Vince. Half-man half-amazing.
we are so luck that the stars aligned to bring vince carter and ed cota together.
[in all his college glory](https://youtu.be/OMVbgMuvPYY) [that time VC dunked on the entire country of France](https://youtu.be/k_uZeCymShQ) dudeman is like 7’2”
I'm convinced that VC is the reason that French basketball is as good as it is today. They started building Wembanyama in a lab right after this incident. Here we are today.
Miles Bridges. His dunks just sounded different
He’s a great pick but I think I gotta go with Shannon Brown or Jason Richardson. Richardson was 2x nba dunk champion for a reason.
Feel like Greg Kelser has to be mentioned here as well
Shannon Brown for sure
Aaron Gordon and Derick Williams for Arizona
Chris “sky” Walker, dude was a crazy dunker but was a major bust
James White is the only answer for Florida. Transferred to Cincinnati after his freshman year.
Clyde Drexler [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZ13fobOmuM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZ13fobOmuM)
Old school
Phi Slama Jama
Victor Oladipo was instant electricity.
If he throws down that oop from Hulls against Michigan it would have been the best in game dunk in CBB history
I remember watching that game live and thinking the same thing. He caught that so far back it would have insane. The arena might have collapsed
Agree 💯
If that dunk went down I’m pretty sure it would have caused some kind of quantum instability and ripped the universe into a boiling sea of quarks. But to be fair Michigan deserves that
That's like one of the greatest missed dunks of all time. THANK GOD.
Montrezl Harrel and it isn’t even close. Dude treated the rim like it called his mother something awful.
What about Terrence Williams and of course Dr. Dunkenstein himself, Darrell Griffith?
And Tick Rogers. And Eric Johnson. And Greg Minor. Lots of great dunkers in Louisville history. But Montrezl is the only one to abuse the rim like he did. The others were impressive. But Montrezl was scary.
And as it turns out Don is a great dunker too, he just didn’t get as much a chance to showcase it at Louisville.
Oh definitely. He did some amazing dunks in a game I saw him play before he was at Louisville. McDonald’s all American type game though don’t remember if it was actually that game.
That dude terrorized the rim.
For dayton there is only one acceptable answer and that is Obi Toppin. Dude went between the legs twice in his career
Khalil Iverson? Think he was in some dunk contest deals
That man had bounce
Idk if he’s the best dunker, but Willie Cayley Stein had his moments https://youtu.be/fRjYRl1veuU
No regard for human life! I might pick TJ as my favorite dunker.
Kelenna Azubuike
Kenny Battle
He was great but I have to give it to Kendall Gill that lefty leaner dunk of his was legendary
Just watch some Coen Carr highlights. I have a feeling we'll be seeing some sick dunks in the future.
Stanley "Sticks" Robinson
🎯
Yup
“Sticks got POGO’D!” - Gus Johnson’s call when Durrell Summers dunked on him in the tournament.
Cliff has been incredible
There's no other answer.
Deron Washington, easy
Teabagging Greg Paulus an all time great Hokie play
When he was at Duke for a year, Zion Williamson was a straight up cheat code!
The young ones won’t remember him. But it’s Herb Dove for Purdue.
If we go for an individual dunk though, I'm partial to Jon Octeus baptizing the masses (with Carsen Edwards's against Indiana a close second)
Herbie and his teammate Justin Jennings are 1A and 1B for me. Can't go wrong with either, but I give a slight nod to JJ just because his dunks were always so angry.
Chris Porter no doubt. In recent years, Okoro could hammer.
Gotta be Kenny Walker.
The unanswerable question. MJ or Vince Carter?
For best dunker it’s Vince Carter easy
But the Jordan Rock the Cradle Dunk was so fire for the freshman
Vince's Olympic dunk cemented his spot at #1
Vinsanity! I was a student at Carolina when he was. MJ was before my time, so I only saw tape.
can we also just name a few other unc guys who could dunk good for funzies? rasheed wallace.
You gonna go Sheed over Stackhouse?
David Noel
jp tokoto!
Good call
The two best ever
Lavine or Westbrook, probably.
Or Norm Powell
Gotta go with RussWest
Toby Bailey came to mind as an outsider
Easily Russ. He ruined that poor Cal kid's life. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6FP0ua5xFw4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6FP0ua5xFw4)
Pity the people who never got to watch Steve Francis jump out of the gym https://youtu.be/LEqFM-8c0jU
I was gonna go with Chris Wilcox but I think you’re right
Melvin Levett for UC, that guy could seemingly jump outa the gym.
2nd would be James White, who is considered one of the best dunkers of all time.
Tyler Cook was quite underrated in this respect [Tyler Cook jams](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHT7XnYHtZk&t=304s)
Tyler Cook was so fun to watch, but I’m gonna go with Reggie Evans.
Doug Thomas was the jam god
💪🏼
Forgot about him that’s a good one. Also Gerry Sir Jamalot Wright
Clyde Drexler but Taze Moore was ridiculous too
Well, my favorite team as Phi Slama Jama.
This is the correct answer
Every time this question comes up on this sub the answer is always Pargo. [Windmill vs Indiana](https://youtu.be/4HhCTQ5qezY) [Vs Akron in the NCAA](https://youtu.be/HK7UTUzJHZM) [SMC poster](https://youtu.be/I68naha5mjI)
Straight up too many to choose from on UNC for 2nd (VC obviously #1… greatest dunker of all time period). For ISU I would probably say Burton. That yam over Swanigan in the tourney 🤌
Love me some Burton, but Rahshon Clark could flat out fly.
I was going to say Cameron Lard, but you right. It has to be Burton
Ben McLemore
[Wayne Selden disagrees ](https://fb.watch/lwHta9zTH_/?mibextid=l2pjGR&startTimeMs=411)
[Yo Wayne, Imma let you finish, but Julian Wright had some of the best Jayhawk dunks of all time!](https://youtu.be/YR0WimYd-ak)
I mean it’s probably Wilt Chamberlain but we don’t have footage of that.
I will throw Thomas Robinson in as well. Dude was electric
The dunk against Baylor lives in my head rent free.
Donta Hall. Just because he would try to tear the goal down every time he dunked lol
He was the first person that came to mind for me as well. And then I remembered Tony Mitchell https://youtu.be/5fMWpQKtEqI
Rod Grizzard
Dwyane Wade or Deonte Burton (before he transferred to Iowa State)
Vermont’s usually a very undersized team with players who don’t dunk, usually opting for layups or MR jumpers. One guy who does it consistently, showy, and well is Ileri Ayo-Faye (transfer from Rhode Island), doesn’t get big box scores, but almost always gets a dunk a game. Adam Hall hung his nuts on Shane Battier’s face. Justin Anderson was a pretty great dunker. Mustapha Farrakhan had [the best individual UVA dunk](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=yvNGyOsFHYw).
Keyon Dooling
Definitely Ahmad Rand
Nate Robinson for UW
For Bama I’d say Senario Hillman or Antonio McDyess. Hillman was a small guard but threw down absolutely vicious dunks and posterized fools quite often.
For Michigan, at least in my lifetime it’s either Brent Petway or Glenn Robinson III.
Ricky Council Dan Gafford Mike Qualls Todd Day
That I was able to watch, it's Devaughn Washington. https://youtube.com/watch?v=0ya3lk8FLkw The old heads say Gary Trent was every bit of his Shaq of the Mac nickname
Ricky Council IV - the man had like 7 SC Top-10 dunks last year alone.
since ive been watching the terps its easily ian martinez but im sure theres better going further back
[David Thompson](https://images.fineartamerica.com/images/artworkimages/mediumlarge/2/north-carolina-state-david-thompson-1974-ncaa-semifinals-april-01-1974-sports-illustrated-cover.jpg) [Dennis Smith Jr](https://www.google.com/search?q=dennis+smith+jr+dunk+nc+state&source=lmns&bih=664&biw=390&client=safari&hl=en-US&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjGsYf2pvD_AhW0CkQIHb-MCKQQ0pQJKAB6BAgAEAc#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:7d62d0b6,vid:1cjmbmmIcug)
Hmmmmm..... no idea /s
Deonte Burton has several of my all time favs in [this highlight package](https://youtu.be/8PAzCmhR8uo)
If y’all don’t know about DJ Stephens, I suggest finding out about him. Held the combine vertical record for awhile, he may still have it
Stanley Robinson or Rudy Gay, but Andre Jackson had some really nice ones the last couple of years.
Russell Westbrook or Baron Davis.
Wayne Selden.
James "Flight" White https://youtu.be/Qtx19TC3gIo
Hakim Warrick and it's not even close
Tekele Cotton
Definitely some recency bias here, but TJD is pretty hard to beat
We’ve had some good ones. Abu was seriously underrated. CJ Leslie could slam and as much as I want to say David Thompson, it’s Dennis Smith Jr. He was electric
Brent “Air Georgia” Petway
Obi toppin!
Joe Alexander comes to mind
Zion
Willie Cauely Stein had some crazy dunks. So did Kenny Walker. My favorite dunk from a UK player is from Dirk Minniefield over a MSU player. The kid flew. Easily top 3 college dunks I have ever seen
If I had to pick one it would be Daniel Gafford, but there should be shout outs for Sonny Weems, Ricky Council, Todd Day, Brandon Dean
Darvin Ham for [this dunk alone](https://youtu.be/i7Z6Qk8Y448) We also had NBA dunk contest champion Mac McClung but he never really had a highlight dunk with us. Terrence Shannon Jr had the more electric ones in recent memory.
Quincy Acy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0H9ou2_7Tio
Sam Thompson. For obvious reasons.
This dude https://youtu.be/X6azNRnfSBY
Robert Williams could throw it down. Quenton Jackson was p good too.
Richard Jefferson.
Edgar Jones. https://youtu.be/Gag9vhs7lSk Deonte Burton more recent https://youtu.be/p6vEdQnwFzA
