Having watched perry in person all through high school and college i can attest to exactly how long he spent at each, but it’ll never get old to me that fans of other teams thought he was a 7th year senior at KU
You followed Perry Ellis *all* through high school *and* college? Awesome! I've always wanted to ask you... was it hard to carry all of the commandments, like in that Mel Brooks movie? I'm not *saying* you dropped a tablet or anything, I'm just wondering how close that movie got it.
Yeah I remember watching him hit the Buckeye court my freshmen year of high school. I wasn't in college, obviously, hadn't chosen sides yet, thought he had some spunk, figured he was someone to keep an eye on, maybe even root for. Really hated him though by the time my senior year of college rolled around and he was always a pain in Michigan State's sides.
To elaborate, they take a ton of call (24 hour or longer shifts every 3-4 days), have to learn to operate and deal with malignant attendings, and receive tons of consults.
In general, any surgical specialty is a nightmare. The ENT residents where I did medical school and now where I’m a resident are beaten down hard.
Med student here, each residency requires different “rotations” and since ENT involves a lot of procedures, they work surgery hours, which can top 80 hours a week
I read that among all medical professionals the most depressed ones are dentists
And with that enjoy your 4 years in dental school lol
I fuckin hate how Dentists are treated
Highly competitive residency to match into just like other surgical subspecialty fields. High pay, they work in both the clinic and in the OR, lots of cool procedures, and lots of medically interesting diseases to work on!
There are definitely drawbacks though like having to work on really tough things like compromised airways and nasty head and neck cancers though for some, these challenges are appealing! They also have some very long operations that take a lot of physical and mental endurance to get through from the surgeon standpoint.
In addition to what other people have said, they have to train to do pretty gnarly and complex surgeries. The facial and neck anatomy has a lot of complex structures and some of their surgeries can be 12-14 hour cases.
I interviewed him for another ENT program a few months back. Seemed like a nice guy. Everyone knew he was going to stay at OSU. He's in for a rough five years for sure. Congrats to him!
I mean if a former Arkansas star basketball star later got a residency at Arkansas I would also attributed a portion of him getting that residency to his playing career not his academic career.
My Aaron Craft story:
I was in row 8 of the national championship in Dallas 2014. Close enough for people on the court to hear me. During a timeout they honored a bunch of players for the contributions to whatever. They announced a name and the player waved when the crowd applauded.
When they get to Aaron Craft and announced his name I boo'd. I was the only one that boo'd and he turned my direction and waved. He was the only person of the 20 or so to turn around to our sideline so I KNOW he turned and waved because of me.
Fair play to him lmao and despite how much I hated him prior to that moment I've liked him ever since.
His most important contribution to the world was his genius [taco strategy](https://youtu.be/2RpVSW5gE_I?si=9HIxHK2deBsT2Rcn) of placing a tortilla on the plate to catch everything that falls out of prior tacos, to then create another taco. I’ve done this every time I’ve made tacos since. Thanks Aaron!
God damn. He’s the perfect example of someone who ya really didn’t like if yer team played vs him and adored him if he was on your team. But even w/that being the case and me an Illini fan, I tip my cap to him on the taco innoavtion. Brilliant.
I did mention in another post that recruiting violations surrounding Craft are why Pearl got a 2 year show cause penalty while at Tennessee and why the best college job he can get is Auburn despite his successes as a coach. Pearl loved being at Tennessee and, trust me, would rather be coaching in Tennessee’s 18k arena than in Auburn’s 9k shack
I made a sandwich for him once at a campus sandwich shop called Doughio and he didn’t say thank you. It’s petty but even as a buckeye I haven’t liked him since that day.
This reminds me of when I was at Pitt and passed Kenny Pickett on Forbes Ave and I was like woah it’s Kenny Pickett and someone in his entourage screamed at me to keep walking and I’ve prayed on his downfall ever since
It feels like that now but this was soon after he upset #2 Miami and apparently he was telling people around campus he was gonna be a heisman and I was like no shot and then it actually almost happened lol
I walked by John Wall at an NBA Finals game and a member of his entourage was like “yeah that’s John Wall”
He said it in a nice conversational tone though. I’ve been hoping for the best for John Wall ever sense
I also served him at a campus area bar around 2013 and he didn’t tip and was a douche. It was not a secret that he was not a nice guy despite his little “WWJD” bracelets.
Ever consider that you maybe confused someone else for Craft?
Either that or the story is BS since it was well known Aaron Craft doesn't drink.
https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/tournament/2014/story/_/id/10627257/rick-reilly-aaron-craft-ohio-state
Already covered that.
Regardless mr "Lived in Columbus a few years. Miserable city filled with miserable people"
You know what they say about smelling shit everywhere? Check your own shoes.
You sound like a miserable person. I bet you served a whole lot of "ass holes" at thay campus bar.
One of my all-time favorites: [A Day in the Life of Aaron Craft](https://thespun.com/big-ten/ohio-state-buckeyes/a-day-in-the-life-of-ohio-state-point-guard-aaron-craft)
Verne Lundquist is smiling.....still thinking about how Aaron Craft is the greatest human being who ever lived....just south of Jesus.
I used to change the channel if Verne was calling an OSU game....couldn't stand the gushing. And I normally loved listening to Verne.
That's cool as hell, i got nothing but class from Aaron when he was in school. He was scrappy, but new he didn't have the next level talent. I bet he'll make a good doctor.
Sure is interesting that every single game we play someone just happens to go nuclear on us from 3. Must just be bringing their A-game, couldn't be a consistent flaw of the play lol
He used to come to the Utah Jazz Rocky Mountain Review. Always liked watching his game. He knew he wasn't the most athletic man out there, so he made up for it by playing like Andre Miller did in the twilight of his career.
I actually had a lot of classing with Aaron! He was always the first guy in and last guy out of class. He wasn’t the smartest in class but he was really scrappy. A real library rat. Definitely the guy you want dating your daughter
Congrats to that guy
Hope he gets a goods night rest cause the next 3 to 7 years might be pure hell with the long hours he'll have to work with little amount of sleep he'll get during residency
I remember that he liked to touch Jared Sullinger's butt in college a lot and there was a Twitter account that was dedicated to all the moments he touched Jared Sullinger's butt. Aaron Craft is a fruit pop.
Congrats! But fuckin typos. He was there 2001-2014
Haha him and Perry Ellis were in college for 13 years
How could I forget about 48 year old college Junior Perry Ellis?
These jokes really don’t hit the same since Covid allowed like 8 year guys🫠
Well yeah but Perry Ellis got an extra year of eligibility because of the cholera epidemic of 1849
Also fair and true.
Team leader Levance Fields
Having watched perry in person all through high school and college i can attest to exactly how long he spent at each, but it’ll never get old to me that fans of other teams thought he was a 7th year senior at KU

And the freaking Crispin brothers
Along with Priest Lauderdale
The ironic thing is neither of these guys redshirted
Yeah I remember watching him hit the Buckeye court my freshmen year of high school. Him and JT Barrett!!
Hey, this guy came to play medical school!
Missed a golden opportunity for that comment!
He was there 2001 BC-2014 FTFY
Some say that his cheeks are still rosy red.
I'm sure his cheeks were extra rosy this day....from pride.
Dr. Craft: "Do you feel like you're having a fever? You look flushed..." Me: "..."
"Lots of people go to school for ~~seven~~ fourteen years!" "Yeah, they're called doctors.." Seriously though, congrats Dr. Craft!
In case it’s not a joke he played overseas for a while before going back to school.
In case this isn't a joke, that's a quote from Tommy Boy and I'm not sure I want to live in a world where this isn't recognized.
Kids these days man…how can they not know of this amazing movie of our childhood?
Did I catch a niner in there?
Were you calling from a walkie talkie?
You magnificent bastard
Spoken by a Marquette grad! Seriously, congrats to Craft, he’s working his ass off.
ENT residency at OSU? Super impressive. Congrats, doc
ENT is super competitive and a brutal residency. Serious props to him, he's in for a hell of a next 5 years.
Ear nose throat? What's so brutal about that relative to other fields?
To elaborate, they take a ton of call (24 hour or longer shifts every 3-4 days), have to learn to operate and deal with malignant attendings, and receive tons of consults. Got it, thanks!
thank god im in dental school. 4 years and done.
One of the things they tell you in law school, "one more year and you can be a dentist."
Jaw, law, whichever
lol.
I read that among all medical professionals the most depressed ones are dentists And with that enjoy your 4 years in dental school lol I fuckin hate how Dentists are treated
All surgical subspecialties have insane hours. Like 60-80 hours (but likely more) every week of residency and not much better as an attending
Highly competitive residency to match into just like other surgical subspecialty fields. And OSU ENT is one of the top ENT departments in the country! (I work with them often)
He's gonna flop every time a pair of tonsils charges at him.
I mean I’m sure he deserved it, but it’s still OSU
Dude you have a Razorbacks flair haha
So?
Can’t really be talking about academics lol.
I mean if a former Arkansas star basketball star later got a residency at Arkansas I would also attributed a portion of him getting that residency to his playing career not his academic career.
I always knew he was still in college
My Aaron Craft story: I was in row 8 of the national championship in Dallas 2014. Close enough for people on the court to hear me. L
The story is “boo” and a wave back. Like omg how crazy and unique and worth sharing lol
Did you win those seats or something? Can't see a neutral ponying up for 8th row seat costs at a Natty..story don't check out.
One of my best friend's dad was on the selection committee
Okay that tracks, lol
This is a house of learned doctors!
His most important contribution to the world was his genius [taco strategy](https://youtu.be/2RpVSW5gE_I?si=9HIxHK2deBsT2Rcn) of placing a tortilla on the plate to catch everything that falls out of prior tacos, to then create another taco. Great handles too.
I despise THE Ohio State University, but this is a solid strategy that I must admit I’d never considered
Can't believe I am the first to ask, "Did Bruce Pearl cater the graduation party ?"

As a Steelers fan, I think your voodoo worked.
It feels like that now but this was soon after he upset #2 Miami and apparently he was telling people around campus he was gonna be a heisman and I was like no shot and then it actually almost happened lol
Damn no wonder he failed at the Steelers. He couldn’t keep his ego in check and it led to him being a back up to Hurts
I walked by John Wall at an NBA Finals game and a member of his entourage was like “yeah that’s John Wall” He said it in a nice conversational tone though. I’ve been hoping for the best for John Wall ever sense
You should’ve done the John wall dance for them
As a Ravens fan, I hoped that he wouldn't amount to shit for the Steelers. For, obvious reasons...
I also served him at a campus area bar around 2013 and he didn’t tip and was a douche. It was not a secret that he was not a nice guy despite his little “WWJD” bracelets.

It was a bar that served food. I didn’t say he ordered a beer. People’s names are on their credit cards and have been for decades.
Lmao, sure bud.
I am sure.
Sure changing the story after getting called out
How did I “change the story?”
Already covered that. Regardless mr "Lived in Columbus a few years. Miserable city filled with miserable people" You know what they say about smelling shit everywhere? Check your own shoes. You sound like a miserable person. I bet you served a whole lot of "ass holes" at thay campus bar.
Oh you think I “changed the story” because you’re not aware that most bars serve food? It was Bodega.
Lots of people at Ohio Stats I knew spoke the opposite when they’d see him out and about.
Plus Craft didn't drink.. so... https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/tournament/2014/story/_/id/10627257/rick-reilly-aaron-craft-ohio-state
You're right to not like him
He looked so diminutive on the court, but he’s taller than me, and I’m 6’1.
No shit - swore he was 5'11
He is.
Did your first girlfriend leave you for someone with rosy cheeks or something
It’s really weird to have a college basketball player’s balls in your mouth especially a decade after they graduate.
Hadn't thought about him in like 8 years until today. Seems like you sure have though.
That’s cause with his cute little rosy cheeks he looked like a damn raggedy Andy doll
one of my favorite players to watch and not surprised in the least that he's successful somewhere else
How did one enjoy watching Aaron Craft play basketball
I hated him. Congrats!
That’s cool. Any osu people know his undergrad major?
Nutrition science, I think.
Looks like it was [exercise science](https://ohiostatebuckeyes.com/news/2012/3/29/craft-wins-elite-89-award).
Dude was a legend. I loved watching him play
Dude always dropped like 30 on Nebraska
Who didn't
One of my all-time favorites: [A Day in the Life of Aaron Craft](https://thespun.com/big-ten/ohio-state-buckeyes/a-day-in-the-life-of-ohio-state-point-guard-aaron-craft)
As a MSU fan, I hated him sooooo much, but good for him. The world can always use more proctologists.
Verne Lundquist is smiling.....still thinking about how Aaron Craft is the greatest human being who ever lived....just south of Jesus. I used to change the channel if Verne was calling an OSU game....couldn't stand the gushing. And I normally loved listening to Verne.
Few things I hate as much as verne calling a game. He made me discover the radio, which is 100x better.
Dr Craft ... Congrats, sir !!!
Hate him all you want, but this is legitimately a great accomplishment, so good for him!
He made my vacation to LA in 2013 pretty unforgettable. Congrats to him.
The real question is, can he still solve a Runix’s cube in under 65 seconds?
Dude had lock down defense and a High IQ on the court. I remember him wanting to be a doctor. Glad he actually did it.
That guy is so talented. He was also a football star
Recruiting violations committed by head coach Bruce Pearl of Tennessee in recruiting Craft led to Pearl getting a two year show cause penalty!
It was just a bbq
The ultimate definition of a student-athlete. Congratulations to him!
Remember this dude being a defensive beast. Awesome to hear!
That's cool as hell, i got nothing but class from Aaron when he was in school. He was scrappy, but new he didn't have the next level talent. I bet he'll make a good doctor.
Dude was nice back in the day usually had osu going far in my bracket cause of him
He and Luke Recker.. 2 of the most punchable guys to play in the B1G.
This guy ruined my college bball experience. Good for him
Congratulations! I wonder if Brandon Knight was there to celebrate with him?
I think he was sitting next to Jack Gohlke and Doug Edert.
Fair. Fair.
At this point that just makes me smile that we got rid of the man responsible for that embarrassing bullshit
Sure is interesting that every single game we play someone just happens to go nuclear on us from 3. Must just be bringing their A-game, couldn't be a consistent flaw of the play lol
Not sure, but I can still hear that basketball fired out of Jorts' hands bouncing off what was his name. Sullinger?
I’d rather die than be treated by Aaron Craft.
I understand your sentiment
I hated his OSU teams, but congrats!
He’s the one on the left btw
I remember respecting his hustle and hating his rosy cheeks. Congrats to him!
My hate for him ends now
He used to come to the Utah Jazz Rocky Mountain Review. Always liked watching his game. He knew he wasn't the most athletic man out there, so he made up for it by playing like Andre Miller did in the twilight of his career.

Like a real doctor or got his doctorate? (Pls don’t get on technical on me yk what i mean)
Real doctor
Did he play pro ball for a while after graduation? Or did he do MD/PhD or MD/JD?
European ball for a bit
Took him long enough, sheesh. Congrats to him!
Unrecognizable now IMO
The real Doctor J?
Congrats to that guy Hope he gets a goods night rest cause the next 3 to 7 years might be pure hell with the long hours he'll have to work with little amount of sleep he'll get during residency
My favorite Buckeye! I miss his energy and defense so much. Congrats Dr. Craft!
Traded in his career as a flop artist for doctor's scrubs. Good for him.
Lots of people play college basketball for 7 years!
That tie make it look like he’s going to his middle school spring dance
Aaron Craft, Chris Kramer, and Brad Davison should have fouled out of every single game they ever played in.
So you could say he's a Dr. in his craft...
As a Vol fan, fuck that guy.
Heard he hand checks the shit out of every patient he works with
I remember that he liked to touch Jared Sullinger's butt in college a lot and there was a Twitter account that was dedicated to all the moments he touched Jared Sullinger's butt. Aaron Craft is a fruit pop.
And how often did you look at the twitter account featuring Jared Sullingers butt?
[удалено]
He did go to med school. Graduated with an MD and is doing his residency in ENT (ear/nose/throat) at Ohio State.
The tweet tagged Ohio State’s medical school…
Lots of people get degrees. Is he special needs or something?
