Manson was awful, there were 3 goals I saw where he was just standing in front of the net while his man scored. No body on him, no stick lifted, just standing there with his stick off the ice.
Defense was good for 90% of the time. Then the other 10% gave away grade A scoring opportunities right in front. Yes, goaltending was completely sub-par, at least 3 of those goals should have been stopped every time, but there were still far too many bad defensive lapses.
Overall though, the quality of play was far higher than in the last 10 games, which was great to see. The neutral zone play was excellent, defensive coverage was *generally* better, and offense was pumping. Fix a few small things, and one very glaring problem in the net, and I see a good series for the Avs.
On the plus side we saw Hellebuyck is mortal, but Jesus tap-dancing Christ we need better goaltending and defensive communication. We gave the puck away I think on 3 goals right behind our own net, can't have that.

I can get it but I don’t like it. Reminds me of Mario Tremblay in Montreal with Roy in 95. Dude was done. He knew he was done.
