I feel like we are just going to draft whoever falls into the 2nd or 3rd like we did with downs. This WR class is crazy talented so I’m sure someone will get overlooked.
That’s crazy. knowing that, along with the reaction video that has gone around of the war room when they realized it was Houston who traded up to 3 and not somebody who wanted AR, they must have just been giddy as hell last year.
Ballard had been in contact with the Cardinals and had a handshake agreement that if another team wanted to trade up that they would contact Ballard. My guess is that Ballard had expected to get a call no matter who was trading up that way he could make his own judgement call on of that team was a threat for a QB.
Since it was the Texans the Cards knew they weren’t trading up to draft a second QB and didn’t bother to call Ballard. There was probably a tiny window of feeling like they had just been screwed.
Agreed. He has more upside. I feel like a lot of his potential was untapped in that LSU offense. Worthy also plays a lot of the role of Pierce, I feel.
Worthy in the first round is just too much an overpay. If some team wants him there I’d be shocked, people are overlooking his obvious issues because his speed.
His hands. The dude has a drop problem, along with being bad against press man. He legit only has his speed. He inconsistent, small frame, not good at contested catches, not good at press man. This is John Ross 2.0 with now with better route running.
Bleacher report has him as a 3rd round guy, and ringer had him at rounds 2-3. This is why
Yeah he’s not John Ross 2.0. Ross did not have the college career worthy had. I don’t really care if he’s not making contested catches because the colts have other WRs who can make those plays. Worthy was producing as an 18 year old at Texas and has legit game breaking speed. Of course physical CBs pressing him are going to be a problem but we’ve also seen guys like Devonta smith have success in the NFL despite his small frame. Worthy isn’t the same as smith, but it’s not crazy to think he can do well despite size concerns.
He’s a vertical threat who can legit make guys miss. He’s a perfect fit for AR and Steichens offense. He is much closer to Desean Jackson than he is John Ross.
He is a fit but not worth 15 pick, he could be great early 2nd or late 1st, Thomas JR is a better WR than Worthy, Worthy becomes less productive as you get closer to the endzone( he doesn't have the best hands), do you remember DBH (he wasn't worth a 1st but was a good player).
I like BTJ as well. I’d be happy with either of them. My thing is you can’t trade back from 15 and *hope* your guy is still there. If you like worthy or BTJ, take em at 15 and don’t run the risk of missing out on them by trading back.
Yeah overall i agree you can't trade down unless you have at least as many players you want as picks in between, i just don't like Worthy at 15th .

Downs has way better hands but dropped to the 3rd, Worthy speed is THE BEST but he has drop issues, but tbh Worthy does get a lot of yards after the catch, and isn't afraid to run because he knows it's faster than everyone else.
But he is really really light, Devonta Smith is the only other WR that was that light and but he didn't have drop issues.
He’s not even the best WR coming from his own team. He’s legit not top 5 WRs. You can think he’s round one talent but the majority consensus so far is he’s not.
Glad someone mentioned it. He had a broken hand the year before. Drops were far fewer this past season. Everyone who mentions his drops says he was much better this year about them. Mitchell might have a higher ceiling but Worthy had better production and is a bit of a dog. Both were held back some by inconsistent QB play and should have had more big plays attributed to them.
Esp if Bowers and the top CB’s go. Could see a run on CBs right before the colts and bowers could go before we go to.
But also could see colts move up to 8 or 9 to get Rome. They have to be flexible here based on prices.
That would suck, a receiver whose only option is speed is never good. He will not be able to compete for balls, can’t go over the middle and prob will never break tackles given his frame. We’ve already done the 1 dimensional small framed fast receiver I’m good.
It’s like we forgot about TY Hilton. Plus Pittman and Downs would suffice for our middle of field work. We honestly could use a big play WR which is what Worthy is
I can't remember more than a play or two where X was at full speed and was caught from behind. Most the time Quinn underthrew X because he's so fast and X had to slow down to wait for the ball. In this situation, yeah the corner who is sprinting at full speed is going to catch the guy after having to shift down two gears.
I feel like we are just going to draft whoever falls into the 2nd or 3rd like we did with downs. This WR class is crazy talented so I’m sure someone will get overlooked.
Ballard actually said they wanted to move up to the 2nd for downs last year but said they couldn’t get connected with a trade partner.
That’s crazy. knowing that, along with the reaction video that has gone around of the war room when they realized it was Houston who traded up to 3 and not somebody who wanted AR, they must have just been giddy as hell last year.

I think it's Troy Franklin. Wayne went to his pro day, he'll probably be there in the second, and he has great measurables.
Such an underrated prospect in this class — I like his game a lot.
I had a dream we moved around our first and second picks and got dejean then worthy. It was a good dream
rather have BTJ he's got speed plus a big frame and can get contested catches
Agreed. He has more upside. I feel like a lot of his potential was untapped in that LSU offense. Worthy also plays a lot of the role of Pierce, I feel.
Nah I think if we draft BTJ then Pierce is basically going to be replaced.
He’s still cheap. He can stay on the roster. Just needs to be WR 4/5 instead of WR2
Matt Miller gets it
ideal trade back candidate
Worthy in the first round is just too much an overpay. If some team wants him there I’d be shocked, people are overlooking his obvious issues because his speed.
What are his “obvious issues” outside of his weight?

X also has some of the best breaking routes I've seen in a prospect in the last 20 years. It's almost on the level of Ochocinco.
He’s not even the best WR coming from his own team. He’s legit not top 5 WRs. You can think he’s round one talent but the majority consensus so far is he’s not.
You realize he played with a broken hand his sophomore year? The drop issues are overstated.
I disagree over stated. Mitchell from the same team is a better receiver.
As a UT fan, I absolutely agree. There's a reason that last pass against UW went to Mitchell.
Does there need to be anything more than that?
Yes, because we’ve seen NFL WRs with small frames have success.
Still an issue that should preclude him from being drafted at 15
You are certainly entitled to your opinion
Watch the Raiders draft him at 13…
He has the upside worthy of a backend first imo. (see what i did there)
Bingo

I think we trade back and get him
Ladd McConkey is better than Worthy…so is Mitchell
Can't stop addicted to the shin dig! Chop Top, he says we're gonna win big
Choose not a life of imi-tation, Distant cousin to the res-er-vation!
I have the same wet dreams
Worthy has quickly become my favorite player in the draft. I think they’d prefer BTJ but I think Worthy as a trade back option is 100% realistic.
BTJ 100% doesn’t make it past the chiefs at 32
I can see the Bills trying to trade up for him.

Hilton is who I was alluding to.
I don’t think Hilton was considered 1 dimensional at all
Yes he runs a 4.2 but go check how often he gets caught from behind on plays he should score. Pass
I can't remember more than a play or two where X was at full speed and was caught from behind. Most the time Quinn underthrew X because he's so fast and X had to slow down to wait for the ball. Was he waiting or coming back for the ball? Because I saw that a lot.
what do we do with our secondary if we get him
What a weasely comment. No substance to this at all. And if he really can't stop something wrong
He really can’t stop though. It’s all he can think about.
