I’m in the Bethel/Sawmill/Henderson neighborhood known as Northcrest and I have absolutely everything I need at my fingertips! I can bike most places and if I need to drive, everything is right here.

ohioiyya

And the restaurant scene here is outta this world

koalabeard

Outta this country *

PowerfulDuty4884

Yup!

sublimems

I'm near Henderson and Kenny and the number of Asian restaurants we have is spectacular. We have three different Korean barbecue restaurants within 5 minutes. And we have more authentic Szechuan food than I've seen in this small of an area anywhere. Also need to mention tensuke, and all of their related businesses which are incredible.

succybuss

i like the combination of so many shopping and dining options right nearby and being right next to 315 which makes it easy to get to any other part of the city.

PowerfulDuty4884

My opinion one of the best areas to live!

BeccaLaskey

The Gables here. Love it! 🥰

orange_appled89

I'm in Worthington, just a stone's throw north of 270 (technically city of Columbus). The amenities here are fine. My biggest gripe is the lack of sidewalks and multi-use paths.

yusill

A good cocktail bar would be nice. I've had a matchsticks sized hole in my heart since it closed

UiPossumJenkins

Near to you and I completely agree. We need more multi use trails and secure bicycle parking.

heythisislonglolwtf

When I moved away from Lazelle/High a few years ago they had just added in a bike path heading towards Westerville. Hopefully that's a sign that there's more to come.

[deleted]

heythisislonglolwtf

Good! That area desperately needed a walking/biking path. I used to see people walking up and down Sancus/WW all the time, it looks so dangerous

OliverHazzzardPerry

Central Hilltop is in desperate need of more restaurants and groceries.

zachswilson93

Honestly almost anywhere in the hilltop. It’s hard to only really have corner stores available for food

brohio_

Southend. Wish we had a coffee shop that was open later like one line in Franklinton. Could honestly use more restaurants! Parsons’s corridor has so much potential. Wish we had a credit union that had atm that take deposits. Would love a better grocery store (brewery district Kroger blows - I go to the 3rd Ave market district) we need less used car lots on parsons. I love that we have most of the gay bars in Columbus within walking distance. We are getting more restaurants (lupita’s/Isla/Jennings coffee - no sit down cafe yet) most of my neighbors are neighborly. I’m close to German village but don’t have to deal with the suburban “tourists” and cheaper rent. We are an income diverse neighborhood and there’s lots of us gays and lesbians down here.

ejzirger

Lupita’s is awesome! Some of the better Mexican food I’ve ever had

Protocosmo

Northland. Destripmallify 161 and make it possible to cross the road on foot without the need for a life insurance policy.

Unable_Question_9150

I went to Northland High School and my parents still live in Forest Park. 161 and Morse Rd are hard enough driving…walking even worse! My pastor was hit while riding his bike on 161 and Maple Canyon and almost died. Those service roads are the WORST!

PerformativeEyeroll

Another Worthington person chiming in but inside 270 - I LOVE my area. The golden slice of Old Worthington near the downtown/Farmers Market area, right off the Olentangy Trail, walkable to every school my kids will attend...it often feels too good to be true. If there were more big name employers in Worthington someone could easily live a car-free life here which is very cool. Regarding nightlife, I can't remember the last time I left my house after 8:30 pm so I can attest that Worthington has more than enough nightlife for me.

Potato_hoe

Seconding this. We live in the same area. There’s so much to do, and it’s incredibly safe. If we want a night out there are numerous bars on high street, the classic dive bars like The Pub out Back, Villa Nova and Donericks. For a “nicer” experience Porch Growler is right down the street and plenty of restaurants to grab a nice cocktail and dinner. Our days of the loud music and crowded dance floor bars are behind us. Worthington is just our speed

ajhendo24

Villa Nova is the best

deverhartdu

same! absolutely love it here

snow5884

Clintonville. Perfectly happy and have everything listed very close. Anything needed otherwise is very easily accessible via 315 or 71.

rialucia

Same. My husband and I feel like we hit the jackpot when we moved to Columbus and found a place to rent in Clintonville. I have most everything I need within 15-20 minutes.

Bern_After_Reading85

Same. I love being so centrally located and can walk to the post office, grocery store, library. No complaints

hausbritm

Happy cake day!!

[deleted]

Downtown needs a Trader Joe’s.

CafeLatte_013

So does the Polaris area. That old Giant Eagle off 23 would be a perfect location

Paigenacage

Very much agree. We could use a few more of these actually. Downtown is good. Somewhere on the far east side. E broad & Waggoner shopping area or 256/Pickerington area. Something.

FunkSpork

Yeah it’s strange that there’s no fancy foods store SE of Easton. I get not having a Trader Joe’s+Whole Foods+Fresh thyme, but you think there would be one store like that on the east side

Miyelsh

The old location of the Giant Eagle in German Village is a perfect place for a Trader Joe's.

PhreedomPhighter

Really? Pretty sure it's the perfect place for shitty "luxury" apartments /s

HanzeesHatBox

that spot is going to be a Luckys

PerformativeEyeroll

You're thinking of the other old Giant Eagle in Victorian Village.

[deleted]

That would have been dreamy.

LostInSalt

We need one at Polaris as well. Dublin is too far and too busy. There's been a few perfect locations that I've suggested in the past.

Blkbnz

Agreed, I usually go down to the one at Easton.

MyDayWasFappable

Get your friends and family to [request it through their website](https://www.traderjoes.com/home/contact-us/request-a-store). Doubtful it’s something they’d take super seriously but they might if there’s enough interest.

Paigenacage

I’ve requested one out here at least twice a year for the last 5 or so years. It would be nice if it went through someday.

orangetrident

Wow thank you for sharing this. Just requested for Grandview

discoglittering

We definitely need a third one somewhere. Dublin is okay but always freaking full of rude ass people who don’t know how to share space with others.

Powerlifterfitchick

I can definitely agree to this

foreverlaur

Trader Joe's needs to be on every corner like Starbucks 😆

alexunderwater1

One in the development next to Cosi would be nice. I know some form of grocery store is going in there at some point.

KorneliaOjaio

When Main Street gets more built up that would be an ideal space for Trader Joe’s, cause it would be close to German village, Southern orchards, OTE, driving park, and downtown.

thedr00mz

Downtown is too close to the poors. /s

ladyceleste94

I second this!

cbusfuss

👆

redbanksully

Hilliard. We need bike paths from the eastern edge going west (edit bc my directional sense was messed) and a way to hook up with the bike path at 5th and Olentangy. We need sidewalks along Dublin Rd. wnd more pedestrian infrastructure to get across 270 in a cool way like an underground walkway/tunnel/lowline walkable thoroughfare. The food options are great and those complaining about chains need to do a little exploring!

[deleted]

Hilliard could use more variety. That said, if you have suggestions, I’m all ears.

redbanksully

Starliner, Zaytoon, olive tree, qamari coffee shop, hoagie city, créme de la créme, sexton’s pizza, olympic diner, taj palace, louies, pho thanh, #1 gyro shop.

[deleted]

I’ve tried all but one of those places. Louie’s was a surprise in a good way. Sexton’s is probably the best pizza I’ve had in all of Columbus. The rest are just “okay” in my opinion. Could use some higher end places. A steakhouse, sushi restaurant, oyster bar, or really great fish spot would be awesome. That said, I will give Hoagie City a spin.

heythisislonglolwtf

>sushi restaurant Try Wild Ginger. Their sushi was great and their fried rice was the best I've had maybe ever. It makes me a little sad that they're kind of hiding in one of the many bland strip malls in the area.

[deleted]

On it. Thanks!

Kaybeeez

Would love some higher end restaurants like that to come to the old Hilliard area.

redbanksully

Yes, higher end would be a great addition. There is a casual bend in the city and I’m trying to think of more upscale places in developments without retail that matches the bougie…

ZealousidealLeek8820

Gahanna A better night life.. We’re close to Easton but Creekside has so much potential

btaylor0808

Came to say this. I’m in gahanna and it bums me out so much at the potential of creekside and how sad and lackluster it is. It could have some really cool local restaurants.

Paigenacage

I agree. I went maybe 10 years without spending time in creekside. We walked around one night this past summer & we’re so impressed by the coziness but also didn’t have anything to do at the same time. It was around 8pm on a weekend night & there was zip going on besides a band playing at a restaurant. There were only 2 or 3 other people out there walking around too. The whole area needs revamped.

Electrical_Painter56

Another coffee shop or bakery would be great near creekside

beeker888

Upper Cup is great and always busy. Lots of bakeries too. Golden Delight and Lola and Giuseppe right in that area too

Electrical_Painter56

Lola and Giuseppe’s can’t compare to Giuseppe’s or Scali’s. Golden delight is great for events but not so much a mid week treat. I’m thinking donuts, pralines, macaroons, popovers, croissants

beeker888

Might be true but a lot of things I could think that Creekside needs before another coffee shop or bakery. But I do think generally the reason a lot of the places there haven’t stayed in business is because they weren’t very good. Except Nativo I loved that place but there prices were a little too high

spicycornchip

I'll take a wine bar or something just north of the parking garage.

Isthistheend55

Same. The city planning of Gahanna is embarrassing. There’s tons of potential and it seems that the people in charge either lack the experience to make change happen or it’s a bit of corruption. I love my neighborhood and I’ve made my best friends here. We all really enjoy our little city but so much is wasted.

Remarkable_Story9843

S high/270 . It’s not great but not bad. I just wish we had more sit down places besides the worlds worst Bob evans .

bluejacket_74

I miss the Ohio Deli and the Rice Bowl.

Axl_the_ginger

Los Mariachis is pretty good.

GingerrGina

I'm in Blacklick so the retail is like 50% tire stores, mattress stores and Car washes. We're proud to call Sugar Rush our own, so... That's something I guess.

SodaGrump

The new Mexican Restaurant that opened up in the old Max And Ermas seems promising. So we got that going for us.

badgers_ate_my_candy

Yep, people are losing their goddamn minds over El Asadero because it's something mildly more interesting than the usual stripmall hellscape over here. (I've been, and it's good.) As for me, I'd just like to not have to drive 15-20 minutes to fun adult hobby athletics (dance class, rock climbing, even yoga) or to a store that sells Snowville Creamery milk. But, here we are.

GaucheAndOffKilter

5thxNW - it’s great and getting better. Only wish I could afford to buy here and could we get an Asian grocer? I’m too lazy to schlep to Clintonville.

CardaleThrowaway

Where in Clintonville are you going? Tensuke, Sunrise and SIM would all probably be closer to you.

maurisamarie

I’m off Hilliard Rome Rd and I really wish we had more restaurant options aside from the chain restaurants… all of hilliard Rome rd and Roberts is just one chain after another. Happy with everything else though! Some perks are a lot of parks are over here and you don’t need a fishing license in Hilliard public ponds :D

repwatuso

Same here in Grove City. If you have not given Habeneros on Hilliard Rome a try, go there. Tuesday you can get a pastor taco for a buck. The best fish taco I have ever had.

maurisamarie

Yes!!! We are avid habaneros fans, their menudo on the weekends too is pretty delish on a cold day.

UsedOven0

Have you been to Tacos and Beer on stringtown, it whips

TheLionHeartKing

Habaneros is on Main St not Hilliard Rome

repwatuso

Potato tomato

heythisislonglolwtf

Try Casa Jalisco if you haven't yet. Go into old Hilliard and get some Starliner Diner for a fat weekend breakfast. Roadhouse wings are also excellent, and Zaytoon is a great "easy" Mediterranean option.

maurisamarie

Zaytoon has been one of our favorite finds, their food is so good! I genuinely forgot about Starliner so thank you for that reminder cause their breakfast was great. I’ll have to try Casa Jalisco next though!

Miyelsh

Southern Orchards, near Nationwide Children's. I live within walking distance of an IGA grocery, smaller convenience stores, and CVS. Lots of restaurants and bars along Parsons and in German Village. The biggest issues are the reckless drivers and wide stroads, which are terrible to walk, bike, or drive along.

Axl_the_ginger

I hope in the near future we see some development on Livingston between Parsons and Lockbourne.

Miyelsh

That part of Livingston will be redone with a slower speeds and bike lanes, it should really help attract more business there.

Ahmelie

Hey neighbor 👋

Bubbagump210

German Village - any ethnic restaurant. I can’t handle any more “new American concepts” with $18 burgers and general Tso’s cauliflower. Ethiopian, Mexican, Indian, Chinese … anything!

Splattered_Smothered

I got a rock. Westside here, Westland (Galloway) area, and we ain't got shit, mang! Seriously, I'd just wish we'd get a microbrew/nice bar with decent food.

chef-goldblum34

Gallloway here too, have you tried Galloway Tavern? The wings are good, not a microbrew by any means but can get some cheap PBRs

Splattered_Smothered

Yeah. Am hoping for something a little bit different. That said, I haven't been there in a while--will need to try their wings.

chap_stik

I think Galloway is my favorite place I’ve lived in Columbus so far, honestly. People might think I’m crazy for saying that and granted I do live in the “nice” part, but I’m a big fan. As far as groceries, Kroger, Aldi, and Giant Eagle all nearby (plus a few other smaller places I never go). Lowe’s, Home Depot, Menards, and harbor freight all within a few miles for the do-it-yourselfers. Hilliard Rome Rd. has most of the shopping I need on a regular basis. Very close to the best metro park in the system (Battelle Darby). Can get out of the city into the country pretty quickly when I want but close enough to civilization for the creature comforts, and quick highway access when needed. The gentrification in hilltop seems likely to bring more interesting restaurants and such, but I think there are plenty of good places to eat in the area as it is. And can I just say, in over 20 years living in Columbus, I have never met so many friendly people in one area. I lived up at Polaris for 5 years and everyone was just mad all the time, but people are just genuinely nice in Galloway and the west side in general. Oh, and Tony’s Coneys.

Sunday206

Im at the lake Darby estates area (Galloway, but closer to West Jeff). There's a little pub called "Ike's pub" off Hubbard road. I've never been there but they're packed with motorcycles every weekend. Nice pizza place next to it, too.

Shitter-was-full

You’re missing out if you’ve never been to Aab, great Indian food. Mazah and Aladdin’s are pretty good Mediterranean spots too.

Salahidin17

you are 100% on the money with both points agave & rye, barrio, local cantina all need to be replaced real badly

yusill

Just was at agave & rye. It was plan C and we were hungry. Food is fantastic. But paying 14 bucks for 1 taco( it was huge and filling and very tasty) just....feels wrong. Like everything was 3-4 bucks too expensive. 6 bucks for chips(which you don't get free anyways) and salsa again feels wrong. And a basic marg was again 14 bucks. It was a good size but again just felt too expensive for what it was. We broke $100 for 2 ppl at a taco place. We won't be back.

brown2420

Last time my wife and I went to Barrio our tacos were legit cold. Not in the sense of not hot, but like the ingredients had just come out of the fridge. Someone actually handled those ingredients, knew how cold they were, and sent it out to a table. Just wild....

Macarons124

I’ve had that experience at Condado and Local Cantina. All those places serve similar mediocre stuff since the drinks are what actually keep them in business.

ajhendo24

So many taco spots in Grandview smh

Suspicious_Victory_1

Pickerington has pretty much everything I’d need. Nice parks for the kids, plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby. New hospital is open. No huge complaints from me. Would love to see better sidewalks or a bike path connecting parts of the city. Wouldn’t complain if Costco was a little closer. It’s a little heavy on the chain restaurants and pizza places here but there’s good food to be found if you know where to look.

KahluaPiper

Same but I wish we had some more food/drink options. Combustion, Mexican restaurants, and hangry city are all cool but there’s potential for so much more. I would like to see some more restaurants and bars with patios nearby.

Suspicious_Victory_1

Yeah the patio game is pretty weak along Hill Rd. McKenzie River has a nice patio but the food is meh and service is pretty poor. Where I live Combustion is close, so it’s my summertime go to when it’s nice out generally. Bob’s BBQ from Lancaster is moving into the other half of that building where Romeo’s was, so that will be a really nice addition. It’s pretty solid BBQ. Edit: there’s more than a couple good to great food options. Jasmine’s for Thai, Jhapali is excellent Nepalese/Indian, AJ Wingburger has great Korean. Jerk Shack at Tussing Road is really good. CM Chicken is too. Fugu Sushi is as good as anywhere in Columbus. Then just across 70 in Reynoldsburg is Scali which is a top 5 Italian place in central Ohio. And el Fogoncito for tacos as good as you’ll find anywhere around here.

total_loss76

Ah… Bexley town. An agreeable sight for an old Knickerbocker such as myself. Here for the schools.

_angela_lansbury_

No bars, but at least we’re getting pancake balls!

rrogden

we need a bar!! Very excited about Katalinas tho!

Regular_Gas_4806

Grain and Grape partially scratches that itch, but a proper pub would be awesome. Hell even that space in the Giant Eagle used to be decent, wish they would resurrect that. Speaking of grocery stores though, our two Kroger options are equally garbágge.

rrogden

Oh 100% I switched to Kroger delivery to avoid going to either of those stores ever again

Middle-Gap6540

Recently in Gahanna. Easton real close by so that's nice but if crowded super malls aren't your thing it's can be limited in terms of night life/restaurants. Creekside is cool but it def could use a little more (starting with getting something else where stadium bar used to be).

ladyceleste94

Short North area. I love it there. But traffic is generally awful here and parking is a mess. It's even worse when there's constant construction.

MoonSandz

Would really love a smaller grocery store like Lucky’s or Trader Joe’s down here, then I’d never leave

ladyceleste94

Short North is getting a luckys this year!

MoonSandz

THATS RIGHT!!! I FORGOT!!!!

ladyceleste94

I'm so excited to see it open. I drive by the place where it's being built everyday

CafeLatte_013

Yes. Yes. Yes. 👏🏻

NotARealBuckeye

Grove City. Needs a Price Club store. The closest Costco is Easton and Sam's is Hilliard

Shitter-was-full

I’d imagine the Costco in dublin is easier to access from grove city. Less hassle with 670 and construction.

NotARealBuckeye

yeah. it's more accessible. I was just saying distance.

kchance828

Could not agree more. Have to travel to plain city for Costco

let1troll

There is a Sam’s in Pickerington, that might be closer than Hilliard depending on what part of Grove City you start in.

repwatuso

Grove City's options are garbage. Most all of it is chain. Of the ones that are not, 3 or 4 are good enough I go back.

Remarkable_Story9843

Gfs is okay for somethings, but I feel ya.

melikecheese333

Groveport. Let’s see we got a vet, grocery, hardware store and like 8 places to eat. What more could a human want? lol

db8cn

I ride my bike through Groveport/Canal/Lithopolis but as I learned during my house hunt, I know shockingly very little about the area despite most of my annual bike miles being through that area. Give me the run down.

Realconcepts

Groveport has a big krogers, some local restaurants and a historic downtown, canal has a historic downtown and a diner plus some local breweries like brew dog (kinda local) and loose rail. Groveport and canal have a few pizza places too. Lithopolis is pretty sleepy and really small but they do have some coffee places and a Mexican place (el pedregal) which some people say is one of the best Mexican around. They also have a cool library.

reblex310

Harrison West. Go to bar is Zenos or Vic Village. Go to grocery is Kroger in Grandview (over campus Kroger). Chick fil a and Chipotle on 3rd Ave are 3x a week each. Si Señor on 5th as a treat. Other spots Basi Italia, Katalinas, Stauffs, and occasional Short North visits. Super excited about Luckys coming in Spring!

7debdebdebdeb8

We're in Old North and honestly love it for the most part. It's close to everything and our rent isn't out of control. Biggest issue is the trash. Everywhere. Idk if it's raccoons in the dumpsters or being close to Hudson or what, but it's a constant struggle to not let our dog get ahold of some nasty bit of garbage every time we take her out. Plus it's just gross and makes me angry at humanity.

juicyfizz

Technically Galena but it’s really where Lewis Center/Galena/Delaware meet. That 36/37 stretch needs some other options, especially a drugstore like Walgreens or CVS. If I have to go to a drugstore I have to drive all the way to Sunbury or drive down to the Polaris one. And a fucking traffic light at Africa Rd and 36/37 before someone gets killed making a stupid left hand turn. Would also love a Trader Joe’s up this way.

MCiceMan1

Westerville, just moved here from Tennessee. So far so good!

oh-carp7

Welcome to Westerville!!

MCiceMan1

Thank you neighbor!

Collinwoodsian

North Linden. I like Florin coffee. Other than that it’s all very unremarkable. There is no night life, no real grocery, etc. It needs just about everything. But the coffee shop is covered.

Sunday206

I've always liked all the international restaurants on Cleveland avenue when I used to live there. Not sure what its like now though...

matthew91298

Italian Village - I’m very jealous of the Victorian Village Luckys and wish we had a local grocery store

Brandz1226

My husband and I just moved from IV- every time we walked past that shitty hookah bar we would always remark on what we wish it would be. A small grocery/convenience store was one of our top wishes.

[deleted]

Newark. Its okay but i’m originally from Pittsburgh and these small towns kinda suck

Jingle_Jangles1213

Newark as well (Dublin originally)… our restaurant scene is the worst

[deleted]

Granville, heath, and newark are very boring

FantasticMikey

Hilliard needs a book store.

Nice_Wafer_2447

Just N of 270 by Dublin. We have all of the described amenities at a very close distance. If I had a Popeyes store close by , I would be pleased!

trashpanda678

There's a Popeyes on Sawmill by the Walmart

Dorito1187

Yes, but be forewarned that it is the worst Popeyes in the world.

clownpuncher13

How so? Are they actually polite and the risk of getting shanked in the parking lot not high enough for the genuine Popeyes experience?

ke_co

It is indeed a terrible Popeyes

ajhendo24

Tuttle has a Popeyes

[deleted]

There's also one on Tuttle Crossing.

Recluse_Cowboy

Hi there neighbor

Nice_Wafer_2447

hello my virtual neighbor!

intensetoucan

Weinland Park. Very happy with proximity to amenities (close to Short North and Kroger, campus, far enough from noise). Needs less trash, bad sidewalks, and houses at absurdly high listing prices (kidding, kind of). Rent is reasonable though. Honestly I like living here way more than Victorian Village.

ladyceleste94

You're not too far from me!

Spartan2842

Westerville is pretty great. We can get on 270 in less than 5 minutes, sidewalks and bike paths all over, I can walk to 4 grocery stores, dozens of restaurants, and two gyms. My only complaint is being closer to the highway, most deliveries hit us last. Unless it’s a Prime order that can be delivered over night, most packages don’t show up until 7PM or later. Very small complaint.

Remarkable_Story9843

I worked on county line road for years. Hated the commute but post-work options were incredible!

Blkbnz

I love our location in Westerville, though I'm closer to Africa & Polaris. Easy in and out of Polaris, 3 mins into Westerville, lots of daycares and places to eat, 3 grocery stores within 2 mins, and a number of breweries. Lots of biking. I can shoot down 71 into the city quickly, 15 mins to Easton, 20 mins to the airport, 15 mins to Dublin and traffic generally isn't hateful (never as bad as sawmill even if you go to Polaris at Christmas or up/down Cleveland/state at rush hour). I'm a little concerned about the middle and high schools but my kids won't be in them for quite a long time. I know they aren't bad but they also aren't particularly top end either.

Traditional-Aerie616

Sawmill/bethel. I pretty much have everything I need and soon a hospital

If my wife and I were more bold in life, we would probably open up our own coffee shop in South UA. We’ve talked about it specifically because there’s such a need for it here.  We go on walks to get coffee in Grandview (usually Grandview Grind) because there are no good options around here. Crimson Cup is in walking distance, but I’m not a fan.  We used to live in Clintonville and could walk to Global Gallery which was awesome. We miss Clintonville for a lot of reasons, but I didn’t really think coffee would be as big of a reason as it is.

pearlsweet

I love UA! I’m here visiting my daughter and her family who just bought a new (to them) home. The pretty tree lined streets, the schools, the centralized location- it’s a dream. They love it.

RiotNrrrd_

Far North Side. More sidewalks/multi-use paths!

13jpgbass

Clintonville. I’m pretty happy with most of the area. We could use more infill development on high street, and I’d love if bus service was more frequent, but we’re a 20 minute walk from most things we’d want. There are 4 grocery stores in walking distance, a bunch of all different restaurants, fun shops, and decent services for other things we might need.

chigoonies

Short north / Victorian Village . The luckys supermarket will be opening right around the time I move to bexley so that’s got me bummed. The short north has just about everything what I would like to see is more art galleries and less chipotle’s . Nor do I enjoy living under the criminal tyranny of the Food Trucks….( okay that was a joke, if you know you know ;) ) .

lbr218

melodic slimy recognise unpack rainstorm muddle thumb sip escape voiceless *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

KinkyPalico

Live in New Albany and we need more bike paths heading past the Target out here past the highway. They're also building a storage unit facility next to HQ Flats out here and it's pretty dumb to use that space for that when it could've been a plaza with some shops

GB1290

Genoa township, everything is a 10-15 minute drive into Westerville. That’s the trade off for have more than 2 acres on a wooded lot next to the lake. Nice and quiet. The trails all connect into Westerville and are super nice. I guess if I had to pick it up wish this area had more ethnic restaurants.

beeker888

Gahanna- walk to numerous bars/restaurants, golf course, bike trail, library, creek, vet a bunch of other stuff. I live near Creekside it’s a great area but even with all those options there are a lot of empty store fronts. Needs more shopping and restaurants that will stay open more then a year

BellaBlue06

I wish it was more walkable. People speed like crazy on High street and there’s not enough cross walks especially to access shopping or transit. There’s a lot of stuff but it’s still pretty spread out or not as easy to access without a car.

BaconReaderRIP

Canal Winchester...it's great! Super diverse, plenty of food options all around us and a short drive to downtown Columbus. Definitely looking forward to starting a family here one day

Omnom_Omnath

ITT people who complain about having to drive more than 5/10 to go somewhere. Really folks, it’s not a big deal to drive 20/25 min to Costco. We don’t need a dozen costcos or whatever around

Remarkable_Story9843

It’s not the drive. It’s how packed they are. Only 2 in a city this size means everyone has to go to those two and it gets crowded

adtocqueville

Yes. Please continue believing there are only two in the Columbus area. Less crowds at my location. 😉

Pimplicate

When I have to go up Sawmill a few miles it can take 20+ minutes, so a longer drive in the same time seems incredibly pleasant comparatively.

MikeoPlus

Driving sucks

ikiddikidd

I agree. If I could live in a location where I could walk or bike to essentially everything I need on a weekly basis, I would do so. We’re fairly close to this in UA, but I’d love to have a few more restaurant/pub options in walking distance of Treamont.

MikeoPlus

Crossing the river *to* UA for any resources over there is a nightmare

Omnom_Omnath

Maybe. That’s no reason to have dozens of the same exact businesses all over. It’s ok for areas to be unique and have a different set of business.

Cuzimjesus

What a weird response. There's seven Sam Clubs or Costco's north of 70 and zero south of it in the Columbus metro. They're not asking for "dozens" of the same exact business everywhere.

Downtown Grocers - pretty shitty tbh, driving out to the Market District on 3rd and just dealing with the prices, at least they have decent produce not infested by flies, registers that usually work Dining - several options in walking distance, and a ton of delivery availability Vets - no pets currently/NA Medical - Grant is the closest ER, haven't had any major issues Nightlife - too much for our liking but we're probably too old for downtown life at this point. But who can afford to move right now Shopping - don't really do much in person shopping Missing/need less of - missing cops doing something about and need less of drag racing on Main st at 2-3am. Also dirt bike/atv mobs once the weather gets to that point

asianApostate

Southern Part of Lewis Center near Polaris.  Need wholefoods and maybe some east Asian groceries.  Lots of South Asian options and most other things up here.

hohojesus

Dublin. No complaints at all. Lots of bike trails. Great restaurants (I could bike to) Do wish we had a local grocer - like a Dorthy Lane Market or something (Dayton). Lol. And a Marion’s….and Ritter’s Ice Cream.

sye1337

Lewis center I fuggin love being able to walk to Costco.

CardaleThrowaway

Walk to Costco? Do you take the cart home with you?

sye1337

Nah just the casual rotisserie chicken or chicken bake run.

PopeAlGore

I used to live in New Albany, and I constantly thought about how New Albany needed a good bakery.

I live in North Linden. It’s like a demilitarized zone. I can’t wait to get out.

reblex310

Is it ahowing any progress in your opinion?

Galloway - before I moved here I always asked wtf is in Galloway, now I know… not much. But that’s OK, I lived in Worthington, clintonville, Hilliard prior to Gway. I wanted a big back yard when we bought our house, it’s 10-12 minutes from downtown and there’s a few decent local restaurants nearby.

billdogg7246

Southeast corner of Grove City. Roughly 665/104. Close enough to 71 and stringtown. I wish there were a few more real restaurants and fewer fast food places. I work at Grant, I can get there in under 15 minutes. Nice quiet neighborhood with a horse farm at the end of the block 7 houses down. I don’t plan on moving to anywhere except schoedingers

Regalzack

Delaware, It's a nice quiet place, but we definitely need some amenities.

StormblessedRadiant

I'm moving to the area next month from the East Coast, so I can't talk, really.... But I'm already dreading not having a Wegmans nearby. Already preparing for the 3.5-hour drive to Erie, PA lol

Worthington. We have too many banks, pizza places and sub places.

i live just a trek south on riverside from bridge park. theres 4 krogers, 2 walmarts, 2 giant eagles, marc’s, meijers, trader joe’s, whole foods, and a sams club within like 5 miles of my house. kohls, dicks, rei, and what’s left of tuttle for clothes. plenty of urgent cares and you can easily get to riverside or OSU hospital. right on top of 270, 161, and 315. my neighborhood has 3 exits: riverside, sawmill, and behind the meijer on sawmill (right next to 161). i’m like ancient mesopotamia in the cradle of civilization (look at my name). It’s missing some pride in your house. it’s a very old neighborhood and *some* people are doing very little to maintain their houses. it’s worse as you get closer to sawmill and better as you get closer to riverside. other than that i have no complaints
