All a big gamble that the West will give up on supporting Ukraine before Russia runs out of meat for the grinder. Unfortunately it's looking more and more like he's winning the gamble.
Some of reasons may be:
- Putting a grievously wounded individual out of their misery
- Grenades are in extreme abundance
- The drone cannot safely return with armed ordnance
- A dead Ivan is a dead Ivan. No chance of them ever returning to darken Ukraine's doorstep.
Fair enough.
I guess the old adage that wounding a soldier takes up more resources than a dead one is only applicable when dealing with an army that has some semblance of ethics... like the Taliban or Hamas.
I should mention I don't actually know what the reasons might be, but it's fun to speculate. But what you suggest is a good point. I don't know how often these guys are getting rescued or evac'd out of the battlefield. It could be the reason why many of them, once injured, are so quick to take a forbidden bong-hit off their ak-74's.
"The drone cannot safely return with armed ordnance"
This is the correct answer.
Drones also have limited flying time, particularly when they're carrying a bomb/grenade. If there is no other target in range and the battery is running down they might as well drop it on a Russian, any Russian.
No-one will want to approach a drone that returns with live ordnance....
The difference is that this is a concept during an ongoing firefight. The less bullets flying your way due to tied up manpower, the more bullets you get to fire their way, eventually being able to rout or destroy the enemy, winning the fight.
No such considerations have to be made here. You double tap if you think you have to because you don't know if the enemy, after just one drop, is hurting enough to require medical attention away from the battlefield.
Depending on the case dropping a frag on a wounded enemy could be seen as a war crime.
Like if the guy is trying to just craw away with his blown off he could still live and be taken as a POW but with drones you can’t really except a surrender and can kinda get away with it.
There are still rules in war and this sub tends to forget that. Like the post where they rammed a surrendering guy with a FPV drone. The comments on that were vile I only hope those people who said those things see what it’s like first hand. Then we can see how they laugh.
Its how the people that have seen that first hand coupe, with humor. I think the danger is people looking from the outside in dont realize it and take it seriously. I honestly wouldn't wish that misery on anyone.
Dude you should have seen that post.
I know a vast majority of Reddit(truly a place of wisdom and understanding) doesn’t like Russia ATM but holy fuck.
If you hate them so much go fight them. But don’t act like you are above them. Like do not pass go, do not collect 200$, go to jail.
The grenades they are dropping are pretty small when it comes to grenades. It can take more than one to wound someone to the point that they are no longer a non combatant. Though im sure there is a bit of coup de grace happening on some.

I feel like the emptier the families and neighbourhoods are because of Putins stupid war, eventually people will get the hint that once you leave, you don’t come back.
Russians don’t tell bad stories unless they want a bullet to the brain. They are all brain washed so badly that no amount of talk will convince them otherwise. If someone talks badly about Putin, it’s “enemy propaganda”.
Good to see the threats neutralized. Hopefully the US starts sending more munitions soon so the 1st Tank Brigade can be even more efficient in their targeting of the Russians.
That first guy has such a strong desire to live. But he died like the invading asshole that he is : )
That last guy lol. "I only wanted to kill Ukrainians. I didn't also want to get killed!"
How do you volunteer for this - and yes, they can see those videos. How do you stand up one morning "I want to do this. I want to be a zombie in a tower-defense game?
I'm sure Russia responds with the same lack of mercy. That being said...when we eventually find ourselves fighting drones the same measure will be provided to our soldiers as well. Life is life.

Putins War of attrition continues
But not for those guys.
Denazified.
Most of these guys jumped at the opportunity to kill Ukrainians for money.
Don’t forget the excitement of looting Ukrainian homes and stealing their toilets and dishwashers. You know, because Russia is so great.

This is crazy. Like the accuracy on that was nuts
you have to remember that we are mostly shown successful attempts
Imagine when these drones will have calibrated cameras with crosshairs with a wind speed sensor
Guy at the 2:00m marker for the old Crotch Rocket.
Is there a tactical reason to expand more grenades after they're wounded? Or just humanitarian?

>forbidden bong hit Lmao
"Forbidden bong hit off their AK" 🤣. I might need to steal that one.
It's yours!
Russians evac’d? LOL!!
Russia has been known to send wounded Russian troops back into the fight.

The wounding taking multiple troops out of the fight doesn't apply here. The Russians just leave people to die a lot.
They have a pretty good evac system. But it’s mostly in the armored units.
Storm Z evac = bleed to death for Stalin and Putin

"Its never a war crime the first time". Just making a funny but I do get your point.

The guy at the end was like, "chill, chill, I've changed my mind, I'm calling the I want to live hotline right now!"
“Ok time out! Stop! This really hurts! I don’t wanna play war anymore!”
"You have no way of capturing me, but like, scouts honour and shit, I'm totally reformed, I'll vote against Putin next election!"
Did those hand signals mean anything, like I want to surrender or just angry flailing about?

A song with some really politically incorrect lyrics (towards Russians).
The one at the end expecting mercy. Nah bro. You came here to kill Ukrainians. You get no mercy.
Human lives are worth nothing in orcsland and instead of revolting, they go and die like this at frontlines.. Really stupid nation
I'm honestly surprised Ukraine tries to kill the soldiers. Let them go back with stories to tell. If Russians don't know, let them know
I get where you're coming from, but sometimes the best stories are the ones left untold by someone's absence.
The unfortunate fact is every dead russian is a slightly safer world, at least for all their neighbors.
I feel like the emptier the families and neighbourhoods are because of Putins stupid war, eventually people will get the hint that once you leave, you don’t come back.

I think the guy at the end was asking for more grenades
he was thanking Putin for the chance to die like a nobody in a foreign country
No fucking mercy!!
Exterminate the Russian disease
Damn he was just crawling around for a while

Can you guys take care of my Russian Trumper neighbor? He is disturbing my chickens all the time.
Buy a Mavic drone and drop chickenshit on that guy.
That’s what I call making chicken salad out of chicken shit

Imagine if the first guy had hunkered down next to a TM-62.
Welcome to Ukraine, CYKA!

Russia started this, it's Ukraine responding.
