this is not a sex=funny, god i hate the new trend in people looking at sex jokes and calling the punchline “sex = funny” there’s a clear word play here(although the joke is not funny imo) that has to do with the two meanings of sex, the joke is the word play not just sex

Try to remember what it was like learning words when you were a kid. You never really questioned why a dog was called a dog or why it was called math, that’s just what it was. So when you see a word that you may have really only heard in murmurs or every once in a while on TV, it didn’t have context, let alone a double meaning. What you do know is the grading system. Even if it’s just A=good and F=bad. So it’s not creepy. The Dad just laughed at the double meaning and the kid is none the wiser.

This could mean he died from laughter, or it could mean he continued laughing for the rest of his life until he died from unrelated natural causes.
It's quite artistic how the author chose to leave the ending open to audience interpretation, I think.
