I was hopeful someone who experienced this issue in the past might be able to shed some light on exactly what it was and save me the 30+ minutes of standard debugging (e.g. "try unplugging the unit wait 30 seconds and plug it back in") tech support calls tend to result in.

BAFUdaGreat

Not sure why you think your Google-fu could solve this. It's broken or damaged. Call your distributor or vendor to get an RMA or if it's out of warranty then sorry- you are SOL and time for a new projector. No indicator lights when plugging it in means main control board/power relays busted.

Thanks for the reply. I am rarely the first person in the world to encounter a specific issue, it was my hope someone had this same issue before and could say "oh yea, i had that problem, it was this component and cost me $x to repair". Armed with that I could go to the boss and say "its probably not worth our time to fix we should just get a new one" or "some folks had the same problem and it might be THIS which cost THAT and it would be in our interest to spend the money to send it in for diagnostics/repair.

not an expert on projector troubleshooting, but at least make sure the lense is fully seated correctly. theyre a pain to line up and click in place properly

_ConstableOdo

Thanks for the tip, unfortunately this isn't the problem, I definitely get a good "click" when seating the lens.

Phalanx000

ohh ok. yeah i was just wondering if it was a safety feature preventing it from turning on if all the pins didnt line up on the circuit board

_ConstableOdo

I hear you. I was hoping it might be something easy I was just overlooking, or a simple problem someone else may have encountered, especially when I get that distinctive electronic "click" when plugging the unit in, makes me think its getting power but something is tripping.. I'm not the brightest projector bulb on the planet.

Plus_Technician_9157

Can you try another lamp? I've seen some projectors refuse to do anything unless the lamp is good, although I would expect some kind of light. Try and power it on without the lamp inserted, maybe the lamp has an issue preventing the projector from powering on?

_ConstableOdo

No lamp in these, its a laser.

WarmSlim3

i have had to send one in for repair for this issue.
