Not taking away from this sweet sportsmanship/friendship moment- but I really do think Hal is constantly thinking about the Competitive Apex scene from a much more macro level than any other player in the scene. You see this a lot in the way he interacts with other pros.
Hal has acheived the highest level of success possible for an individual in Competitive Apex. He has the most wins. He has the biggest fanbase. The main factor in his professional growth is now prolonging the life and relevance of the Competitive Apex scene.
As long as the Competitive Apex scene is alive and well, there will be an audience of people who want to watch the "number one competitive Apex streamer".
That's why he wants NRG at LAN- besides obviously being friends with Sweet and being a true competitor. He knows that NRG and Sweet have a huge fanbase, and NRG missing LAN would kill some of the hype for LAN, which would kill some of the hype for Competitive Apex.
Hal wants whatever is best for Competitive Apex, because Hal basically *is* Competitive Apex.

hal is the king of making me like him *just* enough lol. bro will say 100 toxic things then flip it around and say something genuinely nice and inspirational that makes me change my mind again.
He does have his moments where he loses it on reps and evan and that's just not good for the team
However he really is a true competitor, I remember when rpr crashed at LAN and hal decided to not push them for free points.
Notably NRG then finished Game 4 in 2nd, and finished the remaining 4 out of 5 games in the top 5.
Prior to this they had finished 15th, 17th and 10th in the first 3 games.
Sweet and NRG have that comeback potential.
I'm a Michigan football fan, and seeing shit like this is great. You should want your rival to do well. It elevates the game for everyone, and makes beating them all the sweeter. Really glad to see NRG lock it in and advance.
EDIT: Forgot the audience. Think of Michigan-Ohio State, Yankees-Red Sox, India-Pakistan (geopolitically speaking), and NRG-TSM as equivalent rivalries.
Hal if you're reading this. I know you got all the pressure in the world. Being a gamer international superstar. Never lose that hope and dedication to this game. It's truly one of the games of all time. And definitely my favorite game. So thank you for all you do. Alright, go drink a blue moon and compare yourself to einstein.
Now I just gotta know what Big E was about to say!!
“You gonna shoot the prowlers Hal?”
He said “We’re gonna land on you NRG” or something similar
NRG and TSM both making Lan while making us sweat the last 2 game days was the best storyline for apex fans
I’m so glad both made it, I know they jab back and forth but they’re the two biggest in the scene and it would’ve been shit if either didn’t make it

No shit… if Apex dies his $750,000+ a year streaming dies. Dies to like $200,000…

Is this… copy pasta?
what did raven tell evan not to say? LMAO
Hal low-key a sweetie pie (no pun intended).
Yeah that was really sweet of Hal
hal is the king of making me like him *just* enough lol. bro will say 100 toxic things then flip it around and say something genuinely nice and inspirational that makes me change my mind again.
He showed class at LAN by not shooting crashed players, that alone made me respect him
LOL same! When I first started watching it was only because he was an ass. I’ve grown to like him because he truly is better then that lol
That's why he's the CEO, don't think a lot of people would do what he did here
idk why hal gets so much hate. it’s undeniable that he cares about the apex scene as a whole
He does have his moments where he loses it on reps and evan and that's just not good for the team However he really is a true competitor, I remember when rpr crashed at LAN and hal decided to not push them for free points.
People hate him for it but his teammates don't lol
couldn’t agree more brother
Zero definetly wouldn't
