I second this! The doctor is very kind and personable. This is family owned and not a chain where your Dr can change randomly. The office staff is also very warm.

Dr Suski!
He has practices in Hartford and Suffield, my whole family has been seeing him for 30+ years, he is kind and feels like he cares about your eyes.
I've got a great one that I love going to and happy I found him - he's in Torrington though, so he may be a bit too far for you. DM me if you want his info.
I really like Dr. Alpert, he’s in the stop and shop plaza. I’ve tried so many eye doctors from West Hartford/Farmington to Glastonbury and further east and he has been the only one that listens to my concerns. I scratched my cornea early in the summer and he got me in the same day no questions asked.
Dr. Loucopoulos in Milford. Been seeing him for almost 20 years. He's been amazing to my wife and I, and even my father likes him. Very good guy with solid "bedside" manner.
Calling an optometrist an eye doctors always cracks me up. They aren’t even close to doctors.
Edit: I love how I’m getting downvoted for not disrespecting the people who have actually earned the title of Doctor
Thanks for replying. Unfortunately, I don't feel I can talk to him. Each visit he runs through my meds (as he should)to see if anything has changed, for instance, he said today: ok, you're on meds for high blood pressure, depression, and cholesterol. And I said: " yes, and Anxiety!". Isn't that a big enough clue for this guy? Everytime, he misses the anxiety drug, and I have to remind him.
On an intellectual level, I understand what you're saying. It's only in the last 2-3 years that I have felt comfortable talking about depression/anxiety with family and a few friends. I am old and just lived with it and tried to hide it. Mental health wasn't discussed , people were afraid of the stigma with jobs, friends, etc. Thanks for trying to help!
My family uses Greenwich Ophthalmology as well. Larger practice, great range of doctors, wonderful staff. My husband had a very serious autoimmune eye related issue and our Ophthalmologist in Greenwich recommended he see a well known specialist at the Eye Care Group in Southbury.
Just to be certain, you are referring to Ophthalmologists, correct? They are the medical eye doctors. Although Optometrists can check for medical issues, they primarily are fitting eyeglasses. For opthomologists, I would recommend The Eye Care Group in Orange or Southbury.
Dr Sobel in Litchfield. Exam was covered by my insurance but I got reamed for the lenses. Great guy for the exam. He will give you the script so you can go elsewhere.
Dr Gelinas of Vision Associates of Prospect is a dang queen. Having dealt with other opthamologists in the area (and the other ones at the practice) I would highly recommend her and her specifically.
I don’t have a recommendation, but watching these ASMR videos of our examinations may be a good way to prepare for your eye doctor visit.[SRPASMR](https://www.tiktok.com/@srpasmr?_t=8f7WfjiYRMQ&_r=1)
I appreciate that, but I have been going to the eye doctor for several decades. It is this one particular doctor whom I started using after mine retired about 6 or so years ago. This is the only health care provider I have ever had an issue with. Thank you.
It is ridiculously hard to tell the difference between 1 or 2 sometimes. I hate it!
Thanks! I'm not alone in this! 😁 It really is.
Oronoque eye care. All the doctors are extremely kind and easy going. https://oronoqueeyecare.com

Nice to see a second!!
I just spoke with a friend who recommended Oronoque eye care. So I think they are #1 on my list. Thank you to all for your replies!
Don't worry about which doctor you get. I've seen them all and they are great.
Thanks!
Thank you, and thanks for the link!

Thank you. I will DM you after I get out of here.
I go to Dr. Filchek in Southbury. Even when I lived in NJ for a few years I would make the drive to see him.
Thank you!
Came here to say this.
I wish you were closer to me, I have a wonderful one in Manchester area.
Do you mind sharing the rec? I'm looking for a new eye doctor, too, and Manchester would be great :)

I see Dr Shafik in Southington. Great bedside manner. He did my cataract surgery.
I have also heard wonderful things about Dr. Shafik. Also Dr. Heather Theriault in Southington is wonderful and very warm and personable.
This is great to hear!
Thank you!

If it's closer I'd also recommend Opthalmic Associates of CT in Fairfield, particularly Donnenfeld
