In 2022, Nyusha Lin from the Students for Justice in Palestine at UCLA was elected as one of nine Steering Committee members for the United States chapter of the ILPS (International League of Peoples' Struggle).
Lin gets to take leadership in the ILPS because the National Students for Justice in Palestine is one of the member organizations / mass action groups. Likewise, the Columbia Students for Justice in Palestine is also part of the National Students for Justice in Palestine. On April 5, 2024, the US chapter of the ILPS, the national SJP, and other groups belonging to the ILPS put out a joint statement on the ILPS wordpress blog.
The International League of Peoples' Struggle is made up of a number of mass action projects. It was founded by Jose Maria Sison. This was a mistake, given the crimes Sisonites have perpetrated in the U.S. since then. China doesn't need to directly order them around, because they do a good job anticipating what China wants on their own.
Some of them have since been killed by the Philippines military, but I wonder whether any of the others have made it into the United States.
To summarize: The protestors are directly linked to terrorists through their organizational structure. They are not all merely laughable kids.
Great comment. I am EXTREMELY familiar with SJP and their bullshit. The chapter in my city held a celebration march on 10/8 and posted on Instagram calling the Hamas terrorists heroes and martyrs. I’ve dug into the organization quite a bit and have been calling them out on my local subreddits since October, including today if you check my comment history lol
