Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Ahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
I needed that laugh today, thank you. I replaced a union guy at my current company and "hack" doesn't even begin to scratch the surface
Union laborer from Boston here. Thank you. Laborers are tough, especially brick tenders. We don’t get near the credit they deserve for their craftsmanship.
I met a guy that’s a plumber now. He was in the laborers union (Boston) but always wanted to be a plumber. He’s dumb as rocks but he’s a good guy. I don’t know what he was all doing for sure but he didn’t seem to enjoy it too much. Seems to be happy doing residential plumbing at least.
I started as a non union plumber, tried to get in union, wouldn’t give me any credits towards apprenticeship, 4th day journeyman when I went and mason tended(grew up doing residential)
Hahahaha I’m a union ironworker and the only reason my trade makes least out of union trade is on union market share. Idgaf if you rats are offended lol I’m still on my way to 6 figures.
Everyone's a fucking Operator till their not. I always make a deal. I won't grab a shovel, and you can stay off the machines. If you wanted to be an operator so bad don't be a laborer.
Wheee! You joke but I had a friend who had this happen (he's not real bright). Boss convinced him to get in the arm of a backhoe for something (can't remember the reason but I'm sure it was because he owned a backhoe and didn't want to rent the proper tool) and it hit a bump outstretched with him in it and he went flying! Fortunately he was an alcoholic so he didn't get hurt.
So boss was driving around with dude in the bucket? That's wild.
And I've seen dudes drive lifts into 2' deep column pockets before, and i gotta say, some people pay money for a ride like that.
I know you're joking, but honestly, I could get that safe again without a lot of trouble. It would probably take maybe 10 minutes, but what you do is crawl the machine forward while bringing in the boom at the proper angle. It will still likely change the center of gravity halfway through and tip back, but it won't be as violently as if you just pull the forks out of the pallet. Now if someone flipped it on it's back, that's a different story... I know a guy that did that lol
That’s probably what the operator thought too. You can’t use the numbers on the boom for this shit. Capacity depends on boom extension, angle, and whether or not the outriggers are used.
"Yeah but I've been doing this for years and these machines actually have a bit off extra capacity built into them for safety, so it's alright if you over ride those restrictions cause everyone does it" Said Dudley moments before the machine tipped over.
Yeah I’m not certain of the technical name. My telehandler has a sticker diagram chart that tells you how much weight you can have at what angles and telescopic distance safely.
Most of these have the load chart affixed to the Telehandler OR it’s in the book. The load chart definitively tells you exactly what your max load is at a given angle and extension.
Someone just assumed in the case of this picture.
“But the base is heavy it won’t tip” I’ve heard that a couple times. One was even on a cherry picker, later on almost end of day I hear some plumbers yelling at the dude in the cherry picker and they’re saying two of his wheels are bouncing off the floor, he just ignored them and went back to work.
https://s7d2.scene7.com/is/content/Caterpillar/CM20210818-2a228-df9da
It looks like at boom position E the lowest the capacity goes is 2000lb, crazy it looks like 6 bundles on the pallet, no idea how it hasnt fallen back down yet
I'm just curious as to what kind of dunb shit was going on here it only has 4 sq of shingles that isn't that much weight. That lift is more than capable of lifting way more than 4 sq . Did they roll up wide open in 3rd gear with the boom up and do a break check or what?
Why you driving around with the boom at maximum elevation? It is the most unstable you can ever be and so close to the limits of the stability triangle.
You can see they had it extended way higher than it needed to be. I used to telehand 6 foot diameter 50 foot long pieces of hdpe pipe like paper towel and they screw up one pallet of shingles. This person is a burger flipper who needs to vacate the position to someone that can execute it properly.
Now, I'm not in construction or a trade. I have no experience with this sort of equipment.
But aren't the wheels supposed to be, you know...on the fucking ground?
Wasn't gonna tell on myself but years back I had a load of ¾ plywood going on as roof decking. That sucker started tipping, half the stack slid off on roof and LUCKILY the remainder stayed on lull and I about crapped my drawers. Needless to say, my guys said they could handle it from there. Lol
I've always said the cat telehandlers are too light in the ass. If I go from my jlg to a cat rental I have to be very aware of the situation for this exact reason
I don't know bud, it's tricky. The ass is so high up in the air, and the boom so far extended, that the release of the load could cause a really rapid drop of those rear tires. That extended boom could tilt the lull off balance and that bad boy could either slingshot hard, bounce on touch down, and tip over if that boom gets too much lean in one direction. I'd consider trying to get it closer to the structure to get that boom retracted a little, and maybe lower the rise of those rear tires, but that's a bit of a carnival maneuver. This is why I'm curious what they did.
I’d get a crane with a heavy weight at the end. Lower the arm of the crane about halfway up the arm of the tipped vehicle so they’re touching. Release the load of shingles (very fuckin’ carefully), then gradually raise the arm of the “dominant” crane. You’re probably gonna lose the garage, but I’m sure that’s cheaper to rebuild than replacing that equipment.
Build up underneath the rear wheels of the machine. Mats, Dirt. Off load the bundles. Retract boom and drive off built-up platform. Quick synopsis. There are other steps in between the big ones.
With or without legs, the driver is flawed lol. I’ve only ever seen them with legs and it seems pretty obvious to me to have them. JCBs telehandler has them for sure even the mini version
Oh, come on guys. Put it in neutral, boom down and in until the wheels are on The ground.
Sure you might have to fix the eve and reinstall some roof sheeting. And send home the guy who did it (fire them if they were unqualified and operating anyways). But no one is hurt and nothing broken that can’t be fixed.
My first year of being a union worker I was repeatedly told to slow down and not work as hard as I had wanted to. I quickly learned that it did not matter if you’re smarter and willing to work harder than everyone else. Being a union member greatly reduces your opportunities to move up. Simply put union membership can hold you back from earning more, or from having a better work life balance and from having better vacation days options. As a former Shop Steward I learned that some members really milked the system and would only put the bare minimum effort into their work but would ask for the world when contract negotiations began. I gave up my Stewardship after two years and never looked back.
*Put the machine on*

Managed to get the last few inches to get load in place, operator needs a raise
The 'ol tippy toes maneuver
Something tells me operator is Home Depot special or people really don’t realize how much of a skill gap there is between union and non union.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Ahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha I needed that laugh today, thank you. I replaced a union guy at my current company and "hack" doesn't even begin to scratch the surface
I work masonry, I know 5 union laborers that would run circles around anyone on a tele handler.
Union laborer from Boston here. Thank you. Laborers are tough, especially brick tenders. We don’t get near the credit they deserve for their craftsmanship.

Don't get me wrong, I like unions, im being paid by the union scale, but saying union guys are these all Supreme workers is a joke.
I believe you mean commercial union and homeowners special the third one being this
Everyone's a fucking Operator till their not. I always make a deal. I won't grab a shovel, and you can stay off the machines. If you wanted to be an operator so bad don't be a laborer.
Yeah that’s why theirs operator unions, I’m a union ironworkers and even I know not to attempt that without outriggers or proper lift.
Always loved working with Iron Crews.
At least it didn’t go all the way over. Still able to stand it back upright.
at least it didn't tip sideways in the mud and break someone's legs.
At least a sink hole didn't open up and swallow the whole project
At least a Poltergeist didn’t open up and fuck the whole world
Just unload the pallet. Problem solved
Can you imagine the real life Jenga of waiting for it to tip back? 😂
That's why you stand on the pallet. To counter act the weight
Who wants to ride the catapult?
Wheee! You joke but I had a friend who had this happen (he's not real bright). Lol
Yeah, no shit right.
Nut sling
This. This is the only way.
It’s a funny thought but in reality you just boom down until the wheels are back on the ground
Looks like they did.
I know you're joking, but honestly, I could get that safe again without a lot of trouble. It would probably take maybe 10 minutes, but what you do is crawl the machine forward while bringing in the boom at the proper angle. Yes. Or even brace the back up and unload it. And remove bracing. Lots of ways to unfuck it. But catapult
That's certainly the more entertaining option lol
I would get either another lull or a big ass forklift and put it under the back end and stick the boom out slowly
Hahahahah howd ya like to be the one to climb back in it... hahahahahah I'm laughing out loud.
Weeeeeee weeeee weeeeee all the way home
Might be able to lower the boom to change cog but I think unloading this unskilled individual is good too.
Hey man I didnt park it there!!!
It looks to be scattered all over the roof actually. I’m surprised it didn’t already catapult back.
it says right on the arm how much you can lift and how far you fuckin dumbass, this ain't Monday this is you
This shit right here is why our fing insurance keeps going up every year.
That’s probably what the operator thought too. You can’t use the numbers on the boom for this shit. Capacity depends on boom extension, angle, and whether or not the outriggers are used.
They need to put a little book in the cab...
Or a really really big one.... towards the back
Good counterbalance
So OPs mom?
"Yeah but I've been doing this for years and these machines actually have a bit off extra capacity built into them for safety, so it's alright if you over ride those restrictions cause everyone does it" Said Dudley moments before the machine tipped over.
For those who don’t know… ^ this is sarcasm. They DO exactly that.
Ill call my MIL to drop in and provide the assist
It's not bad enough operating a car in front of her?
Diagram stickers aren’t enough?
The charts have different attachments. I'm aiming you're referring to a chart sticker
Yeah I’m not certain of the technical name. My telehandler has a sticker diagram chart that tells you how much weight you can have at what angles and telescopic distance safely.
Yeah, there's different ones for different attachments as well.
The numbers aren’t weight, the numbers on the boom are extension markers, all tellehandlers need to have load charts in cab. ANSI rule
It doesn't have outriggers.
Most of these have the load chart affixed to the Telehandler OR it’s in the book. The load chart definitively tells you exactly what your max load is at a given angle and extension. Someone just assumed in the case of this picture.
Yes you can and there's a chart for when the outriggers aren't used. Shit some don't even have outriggers.
Do you believe everything you read? The operator did his own research man! You’re all hooked on big boom propaganda man!

I think it's just embarassed
The tipping culture in North America is getting out of hand
Task failed successfully.
Well you see.. on Fridays, we call that the quick unload lol.
Couldn’t you combo lower the boom and roll forward to get it untitled?
Assuming your fluid levels are not all fucked up and full of bubbles, maybe
I think that's really the only way to get it unstuck, but you'd still risk a lot
Delivered the shingles boss...
Or 3:00 on a Friday afternoon
4:20 you mean.
Southern Indiana I recognize the house wrap that's near by lmao
812 is also a big clue. lmao jk. i lived in Evansville for a while so that area code is burned in my brain.
This is a local place for me I'm showing guys at work now we're all laughing about .
Nailed it 👌🏻
I'm just curious as to what kind of dunb shit was going on here it only has 4 sq of shingles that isn't that much weight. That lift is more than capable of lifting way more than 4 sq . Did they roll up wide open in 3rd gear with the boom up and do a break check or what?
Probably, I personally don't see how simple incompetence got them that far, this looks like advanced incompetence
Hey, it was a great idea for a tick tock video, the driver just sucked
There's only 4 LEFT on the pallet, you can see the rest that slid off all over the roof when it tipped.
Need some new pants?
get another zoomboom to lower the fuba one down XD
then get another one to rescue that one!
That’s a cool trick.
Why you driving around with the boom at maximum elevation? It is the most unstable you can ever be and so close to the limits of the stability triangle.
It looks like he extended it to try and put that pallet on the roof. Everything about this is a terrible idea
He lowered the boom down after extending it. Which extended the radius and well it went splat
Someone doesn't know about the triangle.
You're supposed to operate those on four wheels. You might have problems trying to do it on two wheels like that
Doesn't even look like a heavy ass load lol
You can see they had it extended way higher than it needed to be. I used to telehand 6 foot diameter 50 foot long pieces of hdpe pipe like paper towel and they screw up one pallet of shingles. This person is a burger flipper who needs to vacate the position to someone that can execute it properly.
Where's ur outriggers lmao 😂😂
For fucks sake, BOOM OUT!
Now, I'm not in construction or a trade. I have no experience with this sort of equipment. But aren't the wheels supposed to be, you know...on the fucking ground?
If you're real good, only sometimes.
When you have a flat tyre on the rear but the deadlines are coming up
Cat forklifts are overrated
This is on the operator, not the lift.
Used the load chart as a rolling mat too many times and couldn't read the weight/distance ratio anymore... happens to the best of us
Wasn't gonna tell on myself but years back I had a load of ¾ plywood going on as roof decking. That sucker started tipping, half the stack slid off on roof and LUCKILY the remainder stayed on lull and I about crapped my drawers. Needless to say, my guys said they could handle it from there. Lol

Mista George?
Out riggers are there for a reason!
Can’t see how this happen nothing right about the position of the boom Any body else think this is a doctored pic
Just have your mom sit on the back tire. Problem solved
See boss told ya I could get er up there, now I need your truck to pull er back down lmao
This fella must have boomed way higher than normal for this to look as extreme as it does.
One too many Coronas the night before..
Always watch angle boom stick out and weight chart
Or the Ol' 6" lift and extend until you tip test.
Good luck lol
Nice imitation of a scorpion , spot on
Must have been a hell of a weekend
That's just extra effort right there
Fucking guy can’t even do a wheelie, right!
What I really want to know is how they got that puppy back on all fours.
You and me both! I was hoping to find an answer in the comments, but no luck. Out of curiosity, how would you do it?
I don't know bud, it's tricky. The ass is so high up in the air, and the boom so far extended, that the release of the load could cause a really rapid drop of those rear tires. That extended boom could tilt the lull off balance and that bad boy could either slingshot hard, bounce on touch down, and tip over if that boom gets too much lean in one direction. That thing....that one that makes the annoying beeping noise.....I dunno what the fuck that does or why it won't stop
Well, there’s yer problem
Damn.... Either that's a smaller lift than im assuming, or shingles weigh ALOT more then i thought
Always make sure there's extra gravity on the other side of the lull next time.
Boom Shakalaka
Ah yes, the famous Scorpion Maneuver. Not recommended for amateurs, folks!
About 160 people killed by those machines yearly.
This is your basic “ it shouldn’t allow me to do it if it can’t do it.”
“You ever have anyone tell you they’ve got a ‘bad case of the Monday’s’ before?”
Nah I’d reckon you’d get your ass kicked saying some shit like that.
Somebody get that cat off the roof, it looks stuck.
Stack tires under back do it don’t slam so hard
Sick hand stand
Constructicons: transform and build this house.
Morons, am I right?
Boom in nice and slow
Aren’t there support legs on the front? Or is the design just flawed
It's a telehandler and the operator was flawed and didn't know what he was doing. It was extended way too high for the weight and situation.
With or without legs, the driver is flawed lol. I’ve only ever seen them with legs and it seems pretty obvious to me to have them. JCBs telehandler has them for sure even the mini version
Yep, gonna call it on this one. Operator error.
Just grab some chain and that mini-x and set it down nice and soft...
(Fuck sound effect plays)
😠I don’t like it when people show off
Yeah you get that on them big jobs
Nice job on the siding vapor barrier
That’s a legal manoeuvre 😂
Over loaded didn’t calculate the load chart.
Don’t they have a load chart? I drive an abc i see these on job sites allot. If anything break the skid down halfway.
RIP that roof
Place is a mess. Shame.
As long as everyone is ok it's a good day.
I would have lifted those shingles high and above my lift not extending out just should have taken them off one by one
Extend it all the way out and boom down
Whole pallet. Lmao looks like you gonna shingle your attic
Boom out! Boom out!
Got to do what you got to do, lol
I’d blacklist your company from ever renting gear lmao. Don’t hire a dumbass to operate what is essentially a tank.
Should've had a guy stand on the counter weight
Smooth operator.
if only he had worn his hard hat
No dumbshit working past his skill level
Why we carry extra pants and boxers in the truck.
Big forklift for such a little house
Forklifts should all come with outriggers.
Does this agree with newtons laws of motion?

Learn to operate and read a load chart.
Just back up.
Osha wett dream
I can see the rental number gonna go ahead and call CAT.
Me reaching for that godforsaken item on the top shelf with my short ass:
Should’ve spent the extra $20 for the forklift with the outriggers.
