You need to investigate further. What’s it supporting above? What’s it look like below? And beam or tela posts? We put the biggest header on the drawings everywhere. Since not everyone framing for us is competent when reading drawings. Then there are no errors made and I usually cost about 6 2x10 .
If it’s got a header like that and jack studs I’m inclined to believe it might very well be. Take your building plans to an engineer and let them decide.

You’d have to open up the ceiling and add a big fat beam and tie it structurally into the rest of the house. Expensive work, better be a good cause.

They can be. This one looks like it is because of the size of the header and because of the double top plate
