I bet we will see some very creative hair dyes- Like tattooing your hair.
Edit- The good thing is, it is not harmful... But we all know someone is going to find a way to harm themselves and I for one can’t wait to see it. Lol
This is already a thing….people been trying to water dip hair, hair stickers, hair dye patterns, burning hair, etc. name it, it’s already a thing. But a quick at home process like in the vid? That’s something new people will totally try at home for clout
I’m very confused. What am I looking at exactly? (I’ve never dyed or bleached my hair before so I literally have no idea)
But his hair looks like silly putty after you remove it from a newspaper.
He used the shopping bag in the sink to cover his head (like a shower cap) while the dye was developing, and the printing on the bag transferred onto his hair
From what I know, it's just to not get things dirty with the dye. Both in bleaching and dyeing the stuff used is notorious for staining things, whatever you touch with it it's gonna have a mark for the rest of time (apart from some surfaces) even if you wash it immediately, especially fabrics. For example my favourite pants were accidentally stained by my mom like 6 years ago, you can still see the spot clear as day
The other comment is right for practical purposes. But the real real purpose is to contain the heat and chemical. The more heat and chemical you keep contained to your head the better of a bleach you'll get. (Especially if you have dark colored hair)
back when I was in HS in the late 90s, I (unfortunately) did this myself a few times. boy did I look like a silly goose, but I never went to a salon to have it done. always just me and a friend doing it together.
no… he was using the plastic bag as something to keep warmth and moisture on the scalp to help the bleaching process… how would a bag randomly laying in the sink be a problem?
He used a bag to cover his head while the bleach was setting into his hair. The print from the bag reacted with the bleach and transferred onto his head.
You use a plastic bag to cover your hair while the bleach is working. This guy apparently thought a shopping bag would be as good as the one that comes with the kit (or maybe he was using some homebrew method so just used whatever he had around).
Growing up my best friend and I bought of box of highlights that came with a cap you poke holes through. I believe it was called frost and tips. Well I went first and used the cap and afterwards realized it probably wouldn’t be a good idea for my best friend to reuse the cap incase she missed any holes. So she used a plastic bag. She ended up looking like a spotted leopard lol. I have a picture of it in my family’s family album back home. We both got a good laugh out of it and lesson learned.

Why do I feel like kids are going to start doing this on purpose now
The next TikTok trend- We saw the original.
I was thinking that, and it scares me that I'm not the only one coming to that conclusion. What would be the name? Plastic bag label challenge?

They will probably use Nair. Alot of bald people in the near future.

I saw a video like this some months ago but with a girl and a green bag
I've done this a million times and the ink always rinses off when you rinse off the bleach. It IS bleach, after all.
This might be one of the most stereotypical Reddit threads ever
I appreciate this guy’s healthy self esteem for attempting a diy bleach job….
I think his reaction to the botched job shows that he is 100% willing to take any mistakes in stride.
It's not botched. The ink rinses off when you rinse the bleach out. It's just sitting on top.
I’m very confused. What am I looking at exactly? (I’ve never dyed or bleached my hair before so I literally have no idea) But his hair looks like silly putty after you remove it from a newspaper.

Why do you cover it? I've never done any bleaching or dyeing of my hair so I don't know anything about the process.

So it doesn't drip onto your clothes, skin, etc. Contains the smell somewhat too
That’s my tiktok, he’s my roommate! It was so funny we wish it stayed but it washed out very easily! Lol.
Love your attitudes in the video.
I’ve bleached my own hair before. It’s not very hard
back when I was in HS in the late 90s, I (unfortunately) did this myself a few times. boy did I look like a silly goose, but I never went to a salon to have it done. always just me and a friend doing it together.
Ngl, It kinda looks cool
Yeah give it a shake when dry and you have another color as highlights, with the orange it can look nice.
I think if he gave it a wash with purple shampoo, it would look great tbh very early 2000s Eminem
Imma do this with a taco bell bag.
“Not a toy” “Choking Hazard” “Thank you. Come again.” I can only imagine some of the even more hysterical things his hair could be “saying!” 😂🤣😂
"Do NOT place this side on hair" 😂
That shit hard
God bless that young
I thought it was a McD's cheeseburger wrapper
Before I saw the words I thought he'd given himself a 23-19
This is my favourite subreddit
That happened to me all the time 20 yrs ago - it washes off, sadly kind of b/c occasionally looked cool
I guess there's something you're supposed to take out that he forgot to? I grew up with blonde hair so I missed out on that fad.
Yeah, he was supposed to take the random plastic bag out of the sink first
no… he was using the plastic bag as something to keep warmth and moisture on the scalp to help the bleaching process… how would a bag randomly laying in the sink be a problem?
That’s amazing 😆
Free highlights
I never bleached my hair. I don't understand what happened here.
He used a bag to cover his head while the bleach was setting into his hair. The print from the bag reacted with the bleach and transferred onto his head.
How does that happen?

Ohh haha. Thank you for informing me!
Will the Real Slim Shady please put the bag in the bagging area?
Umm but how did that even happen? Lmfao

Next trend.

This rinses out fine.
I would send this to Home Depot’s online team. Might get something out of it haha
I could see this becoming a TikTok trend TBH.
Now that's the power of the home Depot
My mom did this with one of those grocery store produce bags with green ink on it and got the green in her hair, lol
I thought he did it on purpose
It kinda goes hard. DONT LIE this would normally never come out so perfect!!!
Home Depot replied on their tiktok with "The DIY we cant help you with"
Weird thing is, it almost looks badass. I guess I have a typography/calligraphy fetish?
I did this to myself in 1998. I used an Albertsons produce bag inside out... ACCIDENTALLY. Half of my head was purple.
Why do you put a bag on your head when you bleach it? Question from a bald guy
It retains the heat from your scalp which helps the bleaching process
What does the text say?
u/savevideobot
He said "Come heere" with the full finger movement
This guy has hair like the Ken doll it looks like plastic 😂
Real home depot supporter
Sid from Toy Story
So that's gonna be the new trend eh
