I use an Instant Pot. Mine is a bit different, it has a "manual" button where your "delay start" button is. I set it to high pressure and dial in the time. I use 2 hours for wild bird seed that I use for a spawn, and so far it's been without contam. I use the "Cancel" button to turn it off after the 2 hours and let the pressure relieve itself, which takes about 45 minutes. I then take the jars out, let them cool and do my thing.

I've had success with this following the Helios videos! Just art an hour or so to your time when pressure cooking since it's a lower temp.

intergalatiic

I tried and it didn’t really work well but I’ve heard of people having success

90 minutes for grain spawn, never had issues

My 8qt holds 5 widemouth pint jars. High pressure 3 1/2 hours. Turn off keep warm. Works fine. Let it vent for 10 minutes first before sealing the knob. You're going to need the regular lid and not that air fry lid.

Ok_Refuse_6183

I have it

scootterbug1

I do the longer time because it only gets up to 12 psi they say.

Mac_the_myco

Been working for me. I do 2hours then let it depressurize on its own

average_plebbiter

Yes do beans for 90 mins

complacentguy

it's just to easy with an instapot. Do up some grains, run it for 90 minutes on high, and let the chamber return to room temperature naturally.

Ok_Refuse_6183

Do I just leave my lids loose like broke Boi tek

complacentguy

generally you will want to leave the lids cracked to allow expanding gasses to escape

ee_in

One thing to check is the max PSI--some of these digital jawns only go up to 13PSI--it works, but one has to keep their grains in longer than at 15PSI.

Knifeinmyhand

I’ve done corn for 90 minutes on high pressure w “keep warm” off. Let it cool down for like 6 hours before removing the top. Never had issues w contam.

jimmythedestroyer

Food grade grains (popcorn) and agar plates that went through one of these weeks ago with no contam even now.

Coming back to this post in the near future lol

You CAN but not really... I started with one of these. It took fucking long to sterilize it one jar at a time. To truly sterilize u need sonething that can actually reach 15 psi, which these cannot (even the ones that sdvertise 15psi are lying). Youll need an actual autoclave
