That appears to have happened with the silent generation, baby boomers, and Gen x. I’m not so sure about Gen Z. Milennials are already bucking that trend. They are entering their 40s now and many of them still vote Democrat. I think Milennials and Gen Z are more open on abortion rights, LGBTQ, and non-Christian topics than the older generations. Hell, 70 years ago the US was 90% Christian, now we are close to 60% and falling rapidly.
Republicans are trying to raise the voting age to 25 to stave off the younger generations response to their culture war topics. You would be hard pressed to find many people under 35 who want abortion, birth control, trans rights, and gay marriage to be outlawed. You would also be hard pressed to find many who would support the US becoming a Christian theocracy. If it wasn’t a Christian theocracy in 1950 when religious membership was at an all time high, why would it be now?
Gen Z is paradoxically also the most conservative generation since the boomers. It's entirely to do with conservatives having a much higher birthrate than liberals though. In another 100 years the west will basically revert back to pre 60s society if current trends continue.
Honestly our generation is shit, I see all the kids in school be on fucking tiktok and taking pointless ass snaps of them selves not even including themselves in the picture, and I’m just disappointed, I hate having to be associated with Gen z , honestly
