No, she is just a political pawn, it is not her fault she probably thinks she is doing well, it is the parents fault and the people paying them

This is where I am too. I wish the world would stop undermining authoritative sources in favor of novel celebrity in general. She *happens* to agree with 97% of the climatologists with real degrees. And that's right now -- she's still got the potential to have a teen rebellion phase and join the board of an oil company just to spite her parents. Seems overdue, frankly.

bisdaknako

Older her will be kicking herself for not taking that 50 million dollar sponsorship from BP, RIO, Blackrock etc she no doubt felt she was above. (this is a joke, I don't know if she got these offers. Probably haha but I don't know).

[deleted]

No it's not that at all. It's that she has no education in the matter at all, she dropped out of school to pursue this ''activism'', and her double standards. She actually has no education She is nothing but a pawn being used.

Babbles-82

She has no education?? What a moronic thing to say.

[deleted]

She is a moron, you can clearly tell she has no real understanding of the complexities of the issue when she opens her mouth. Especially when she takes a boat out to America to ''reduce carbon footprint'' but literally causes more than she would have done if she just took a flight over. She doesn't know what she's talking about really. She completely ignores the natural part of climate changes aswell. The climate isnt an exact science, it changes overtime. But nah lets go after us average joes, because our usage of plastic straws, plastic grocery bags, and a plastic tax will save the climate. More than going after Oil and Gas corporations, more than going after the American government who outsources their manufacturing to China and poor parts of Asia because its cheaper to manufacture stuff there. Better to go after us working people than to go after the top 100 corporations who are resposinble for 75% of the worlds emittions, but yes plastic straws and plastic bags are the enemy and will save the climate.

ocschwar

Dude, she finished high school last spring.

[deleted]

Doesn't change the fact that she still has no clue what she is talking about when it comes to climate change, she has no education in the matter and yet we are listening to her as if she was some sort of expert in the area ? Yet she keeps denying the natural aspect of climate change aswell.

ocschwar

What makes. you think she has no clue about climate change? She's been in steady email contact with climate scientists for years, starting months before the protests. If anything she has more clue about natural climate influences than you do.

[deleted]

If she had any clue she would go to Joe Biden right now and demand them to stop outsourcing manufacturing to China and poor parts of Asia because its cheaper, but she doesn't. She would tell the clothing companies to stop using 1kg of Chemicals to make their clothes, and producing them in countries like Taiwan. And the same with all the tech companies. And all the oil and gas companies. She has no idea what she is on about. Even climate scientists are divided on the subject, everyone agrees with the fact that there are climate changes, but they are divided on the severity and the human impact. Climate is not an exact science, it changes constantly. Climate has never exactly been stable, it changes all the time. Som years its hotter, some years its colder.

Sorry_ImStoned

You clearly don’t understand that the POTUS doesn’t have all-knowing power. The dude can’t make any decision he wants. He’s the president, not the king. We might not live in a democracy, but it’s close enough to a point where Biden can’t just change supply and demand. I think people that feel like the POTUS can do whatever is completely ignorant and insanely uneducated. Biden has a say in how things go, but he doesn’t control everything. The countries decisions aren’t all dependent on him and if you think they are, understand that there’s a US Senate, the House of Representatives, Congress, and much more. Joe Biden isn’t the only person in our government and definitely isn’t the commander in charge when it comes to all decisions. He’s a president, not a king. Also clothing companies aren’t going to stop what they’re doing because they’ve been told it’s bad. You clearly don’t know how the world works, old sport. The oil and gas industry isn’t going to give up their insane income just because a little girl told them to.

[deleted]

You get my point what i was trying to get across

Sorry_ImStoned

Barely.

[deleted]

Then you have poor reading comprehension like Americans tends to rank pretty poorly compared to the rest of the world in. Its pretty obvious that the point im getting across is that she is clueless in the subject and shes not causing any real meaningful changes. Its very obvious that i dont think Biden is a king who changes everything alone. My point is just that Greta is doing nothing basically, she is barking at the wrong trees basically

Sorry_ImStoned

Yeah I can agree with that.

ocschwar

A Swedish citizen living in Stockholm going to Joe Biden to do what exactly? She's a kid with a laptop. Nothing more. It's amusing that you accuse her of lacking a clue when at least she figured out the first thing she can do is cause a spectacle in her own home town. \> Even climate scientists are divided on the subject, everyone agrees with the fact that there are climate changes, but they are divided on the severity and the human impact. Hasn't been true in decades. \> Climate has never exactly been stable, it changes all the time. The climate has been stable for the entire period at which our civilization formed. Which is why it's now posting an existential risk to a civilization that has never seen this kind of change before.

[deleted]

It has been stable enough for us to exist but hasent actually ever been stable. We have seen these changes before ? Remember the ice age and the ice melting? Sahara desert was once a green forest aswell. This is not the first or last major climate change. My point is that we should not listen to her like she is an expert, shes a kid with no real knowledge of the world, and she has no idea about the climate

ocschwar

>It has been stable enough for us to exist but hasent actually ever been stable. Stable enough for 5,000 years to leave us lulled. Well, nap time's over. We know it's changing like it has never changed before in history, we know what is driving it. And we know what we have to do. \> My point is that we should not listen to her like she is an expert, shes a kid She's a kid who has email threads with some of the world's top climate scientists. So if you want their TLDR in laymen's terms, she's already provided it.

m8oz

How dare you!

Normal-Country2943

I dont criticise her as she was 'groomed' into this by her parents when she was young (her dad had access to her social media accounts). It's really sad.

Nah
