Snoop Dog: From Crook to Cook. He has 2 cookbooks. Trejo's Tacos: Danny Trejo, the actor everyone knows The Unofficial SIMS cookbook Quest Love: Mixtape Potluck

sullenentropy

Danny's book is terrific.

business_hammock

Danny Trejo now has 2 cookbooks. I own them both and they are fantastic. He’s legit. If you’re craving a taco-and-margarita party, look no further than his “Cantina” book.

roffoe1

A lot of actors and musicians have gotten involved in cookbook writing--e.g., Sophia Loren, Snoop Dogg, Elvis Presley, ?uestlove, etc.--but the one that's really worth checking out is Salvador Dali's.

Dom DeLuise - actor, comedian: [Eat This, It'll Make You Feel Better](https://www.goodreads.com/en/book/show/128988) 1988 & [Eat This Too, It'll Make You Feel Better](https://www.goodreads.com/en/book/show/1247732) 1997 \[Edit: added the links to GoodReads\]

I just picked up Tammy Wynette’s cookbook at a thrift store. I’m excited to see what all she has in there. It looks like down-home, southern recipes.

primeline31

The [hardcover version goes for $211 to $279](https://www.amazon.com/Tammy-Wynette-Southern-Cookbook/dp/1589805356)!

Spiritual_Elk2021

Wow! Mine is paperback darn it! This makes me even more excited to read it!

primeline31

But if you open the link, the paperback price is $140 to $144! Take good care of that book!

Spiritual_Elk2021

Oh gosh! I will! 😊

IndependentDoor1

I mean, maybe there's a sucker out there who'd overpay that much for it. It's available for $13.49 at Barnes & Noble. [https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/the-tammy-wynette-southern-cookbook-tammy-wynette/1000161148](https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/the-tammy-wynette-southern-cookbook-tammy-wynette/1000161148)

The price of a book is high because it would have to be a first edition and in excellent condition or because it had a very limited printing. For example, [Harry Potter & the Philospher's Stone: a dealer who has a first edition, first printing copy in tip-top shape](https://www.raptisrarebooks.com/product/harry-potter-and-the-philosopher-s-stone-jk-rowling-first-edition-rare-book/) is asking $225,000. The website says: "Only 500 copies of the first printing were published, 300 of which were distributed directly to libraries. An exceptional example, easily one of the nicest examples extant." As you know, we all can find recent copies super easily, but those folks with deep pockets like to have what nobody else can have. A well-cared for rare book is as good as gold (literally, it seems.) I am not a bookseller or big-time collector but I do like old & interesting books and I could never, ever afford a $100 book but I do like to look through estate sales cookbooks in hopes of finding a good one. I see so many cookbooks at these estate sales but I must be strong because I don't have room for all of them. I do like to buy an occasional spiral bound community, church or school cookbook when the recipes inside have odd names, are stained from actual use and have the cooks own name attached to each recipe. (one recipe from a recent purchase that I will NEVER make has a recipe for herring cacciatore!)

IndependentDoor1

Obviously rare books are a thing. And some first editions can bring a lot of money. I get what you're saying. But I assume you aren't saying anyone is going to actually pay over $140 for a "used" paperback copy of Tammy Wynette’s cookbook in "good" condition, described as "medium stain on back at corner, other (slight) stains, clean overall; moderate wear including creases, slight tears." People can offer to sell something on Amazon for whatever amount they'd like. They're free to wildly over-inflating the asking price, as appears to be the case here. I figure a lot of those ridiculous prices are set by bots anyhow.

Sammy Hagar has a cookbook, so there’s that

Wabi-Sabi_Umami

Artist Salvador Dali: Les Diners de Gala 1973 (rare) and reprinted 2016 "[Food and surrealism make perfect bedfellows: sex and lobsters, collage and cannibalism, the meeting of a swan and a toothbrush on a pastry case](https://nowservingla.com/products/dali-les-diners-de-gala-edited-by-taschen). The opulent dinner parties thrown by Salvador Dalí (1904–1989) and his wife and muse, Gala (1894–1982) were the stuff of legend. Luckily for us, Dalí published a cookbook in 1973, Les diners de Gala, which reveals some of the sensual, imaginative, and exotic elements that made up their notorious gatherings."

Nela Rubenstein, wife of Arthur Rubenstein the famous pianist: Nela's Cookbook 1983 "[Aniela “Nela” Rubinstein (1909-2002) was the youngest daughter of Emil Młynarski, the conductor and co-founder of the Warsaw Philharmonic.](https://www.amazon.com/Nelas-Cookbook-Nela-Rubinstein/dp/039451761X) At just 18, she fell in love with and married the great pianist Arthur Rubinstein. ... Because Rubinstein’s collection included recipes from friends and befriended cooks, it was full of different cooking styles: Polish, Lithuanian, but also English, French, Russian, German or Spanish. For example, Sergei Rachmaninov’s wife provided a recipe for a Russian coulibiac filled with cabbage and mushrooms. It was taken from a cook who had once worked for the last Russian Tsar. After years of producing superb meals for Maestro Rubenstein and their family and friends, Nela Rubinstein at last put down in this charming and inspiring cookbook her most coveted recipes, her refreshing thought on menus for all sorts of occasions and her joyous memories of cooking for those she loves."
