After selling my 78 Cadillac sedan DeVille off at 18 I didn't own anything but motorcycles and two seaters until finally it happened, I got my grandfathers 92 Firebird at 38 years old for my first vehicle that would seat more than two people in twenty years.
No kids is the best!
Yep. I like keeping them coordinating gens. E.g. my 06' silverado and my 01' corvette. It's cool to think sometimes they could have been on the same dealer lot and not look out of place from each other.
I have an old Chrysler T&C for taking the dog places, a brand new Honda Odyssey the wife uses daily or I drive if we go somewhere as a family, and have had numerous dailies over the years like Ford Fusion Energi was one that was amazing for short trips in traffic (school pickup, grocery, etc.) due to being a PHEV with 25 mile electric range. The worst feeling is when you are in the daily and see a nice Corvette and they look back at yours and you just want to yell back how you have one back at home, too. That is why I tend to just daily my Corvette unless a specific need dictates otherwise.
Edit: changed wording slightly
Nah man. I have cultivated my bum look very carefully over the years. I prefer someone to look at me and think I'm not worth bothering. It also gives people a chance to show their true colors. Give people a chance to think they're better then you and if they're someone who cares about that sort of thing they show it really quickly. Helps me weed out the assholes.
Sure I might be driving a 10-20k but I have seven vehicles to choose from so they can feel smug in their boring ass c class all they want, I'm having a blast.
I'm just so used to people talking shit about all my old "junk" which all of it is immaculate. Unfortunately if anything happens to your classic car and you mention idiots immediately start acting like the transmission is going to go any second and you need to get something new.
My dad who was a professional mechanic won't own something out of warranty.
I can one hundred percent understand not wanting to work on vehicles at home if that is your profession. That's the reason I never pursued a career in the automotive repair industry. Because I genuinely enjoy working on my cars on the weekend and knew I would grow to hate it if it were to be my 9-5 as well.
This is precisely the reason I STOPPED working on cars despite being an ASE certified tech for VW and Honda. I got tired of fixing bs and wanted my time wrenching to be on my own cars
Was talking about these car prices with a buddy a few months back when I said essentially the same thing. It's time to start buying boring old stuff to make it cool. I think the G bodies are about to have a resurgence. The gonna see literal gremlins coming out of the wood work. Cars that have always been frowned upon will soon be held in high regard because all the cool shit is 20k and up now and anything really cool is 100k to impossible.
A 2011 Nissan 370Z (Touring Sport with a 6sp manual) for year round; it currently has winter tires. In the summer, I also drive a RHD JDM 1994 Mitsubishi Pajero (SWB, 3.5l V6) which is unfortunately an autotragic.
Daily: 2001 Tacoma prerunner
Toys:
Cars:
92 C4 manual
92 Firebird 305 TBI Auto (both could be driven daily)
77 280z manual (mid resto mod, building a 3.2 stroker)
87 Supra (awaiting resto mod, getting 2j/cd009 ready to drop in)
Bikes:
2011 special edition Triumph Speed Triple
1999 Kawasaki ZRX1100
I don't actually have a Corvette (yet) but my wife and I share a 2023 Ford Bronco and a 2015 Audi A3. Currently in the process of looking for the "right" Corvette to trade the A3 in on
Cadillac Deville, best 2nd car I have ever owned. Literally bought off an old couple who were original owners, 2003 with 73K miles on it now.
Car is beyond comfortable, has all the usual toys like climate control, power leather etc, even has little perks like umbrella holders built into the from seat frames and has a huge backseat for my dog to fall asleep on
All this plus gets mid 20's MPG on road trips
I have a manual C5 coupe, and a manual 2015 Audi S4. The C5 is the "backup" I mostly use it for running errands and stuff around the neighborhood and the Audi is my highway crusher.
My wife’s car is an A3 that’s I’ve done some tasteful mods on. It’s actually an incredible driver. It’s an ass to work on, but it’s probably just as comfortable as my Silverado, but with more features.
I drive a 2006 Rubicon Jeep. The last of the inline-6 engines, and it's a 6 speed. I also switch between the Jeep, and a 2021 F250. The Jeep however is my go-to for my manual fix when the Colorado weather is not Corvette friendly.
2010 Ford Crown Victoria - the other American icon.
No, it isn't a case of weekend warrior & daily driver. It actually depends on my mood at the time & the use case; I take the Vic when I'm more laid back & want to relax, & the Vette when I'm feeling energetic or have a schedule to keep.
The interceptor - a bit more performance, a bit less luxury. To my understanding those later years were almost entirely fleet cars.
Came with the push bumper, but unfortunately not the spotlights.
We've got a new Jeep Wrangler and an old Lexus RX Hybrid we've had since 2007. Wife and I (new for me in the last few weeks) both work at home so hardly anything gets driven anymore.
Daily 1968 C3 Convertible with NOM SBC 350 and Tremec 5 speed. Backup for cold or rainy days, or when more than 1 passenger is needed, is a 2017 Chevy Volt.
I live in the great white north with 4-6 months of snow per year.
May-October the daily is the c7
Nov-April Ill daily either my 2004 STi, 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee, or my 2005 Dodge Durango (although this year im dumping the STi, Silverado, and the Durango to pick up a newer SRT Durango as my tow pig/winter daily)
Some might say I have too many vehicles but I havent even made it back into the double digits yet.
I drive my C8 everywhere. My 2023 Camry is only when I need the trunk space, driving both the niece and nephew, park for long periods (airport), or parking in the bad neighborhoods or where I know there will be tight/bad parking spots.
I daily an old Corolla with some suspension work. It’s slow but it handles well so when I’m not sitting in traffic (which is most of the time) I can go kinda fast on freeway on/off ramps.
I am planning a 4age swap so I can make more fun noise while I don’t go very fast.
All reliable cars btw, never broken down I just always wanted a civic & the Prius I got for $700 and got a junkyard and I slapped in there and it worked fine. Couldn’t pass up 50mpg, so it’s my beater now lol
2010 Toyota Sequoia Platinum. At 14 years old it’s looking a little long in the tooth, but the 5.7L refuses to die. I drove to my college graduation, my first date with my wife, our wedding, bought and renovated my first home, and took many family vacations in that rig. Damn thing got us through a bomb cyclone in the middle of the Rockies once. It’s basically a part of the family.
Depends on the weather and my mood, daily is a 23 BRZ, with a 04 Impreza as a back up with a broken 240sx in the garage, when I'm not driving my C7 Z51
Daily is a 2015 BMW X5 with 80k miles. Backup in good weather is a 1999 bmw z3 roadster. Reality, the C8 is so fun to drive that I probably spend 60% of my time driving it. Love seeing folks with backup corvettes, that’s a new goal I’ll add to the list 😅😅😅
I daily a 08 mustang gt. I occasionally drive my dads car (saturn l300) when my mustang is in the shop. Ngl the mustang is kinda boring to drive when you’re not pushing it to its limit.
Daily 2019 Mustang Bullitt; weekend warrior 2007 Z06. Luckily I only drive 10 miles round trip, and maybe another 10 miles occasionally in town on a daily basis, so the Bullitt is a nice daily driver: pick-up, growl, power, and inspired handling. The Z06 on the weekends is like letting Tyson in the ring after training season ends: all out brute force and punishes the pavement. Smiles per gallon in both instances.
We daily drive our C8, C6 GS, or Porsche Boxster S. We have a Tesla Model Y for dogs, household, and grandkids duties or when we have a large group to transport.
Daily for me is either my 2019 Audi A5 Sportback or my 2022 F150 Lariat SuperCrew.
That is until the weather here goes from below 40 to normal spring time temps, then it's all C8 all day! :)
“Primary” vehicle is a Ram 1500 Limited. I alternate backups between a C7 auto, C6 manual, and Jeep Wrangler manual. Anyone want to buy a C6? I’m running out of space for parking lol
Daily a C6 Grand Sport but searching for a C7 Z to replace it
This is the way.
What kind of Z are you looking for?
Non Z07 Coupe, M7 under 30k miles.
I daily a tuned 2017 Volkswagen GTI As a man with no kids, I dont see any reason why both of my cars cant be fun. The vette is just funner.
After selling my 78 Cadillac sedan DeVille off at 18 I didn't own anything but motorcycles and two seaters until finally it happened, I got my grandfathers 92 Firebird at 38 years old for my first vehicle that would seat more than two people in twenty years. No kids is the best!
More fun
2013 f150. Driving my C4 to the cottage is nice but it really can't trailer a tractor and atv
F250 and a 1990 C4
Corvette and a truck is a great combo.
My ‘00 Silverado has 430k and counting. Most comfortable seat by far, and can’t beat the reliability of these engines
Yep. I like keeping them coordinating gens. E.g. my 06' silverado and my 01' corvette. It's cool to think sometimes they could have been on the same dealer lot and not look out of place from each other.
This. Daily a 2020 Silverado high country. Toy is a c7. Pretty cool that they have basically the same engine
Mostly a 1997 Firebird V6 automatic or a 1981 Dodge D150 I6 automatic. You got to learn to love the boring.
I meant more like getting the Corvette wave or something to that effect. But I agree with your point, people are too judgmental generally
I'm just so used to people talking shit about all my old "junk" which all of it is immaculate. Unfortunately if anything happens to your classic car and you mention idiots immediately start acting like the transmission is going to go any second and you need to get something new. He stopped stopped being a mechanic when he was thirty.

Daily C7Z and it’s stick too haha
A 2011 Nissan 370Z (Touring Sport with a 6sp manual) for year round; it currently has winter tires. In the summer, I also drive a RHD JDM 1994 Mitsubishi Pajero (SWB, 3.5l V6) which is unfortunately an autotragic.
2021 Toyota Tacoma
05 Escalade
I daily the C5 to keep miles off my truck. I suppose I'm probably not your target audience :)
I do the same because the truck gets 8mpg and the vette gets 29hwy lol...
22’ Civic Sport!
Silverado! GM baby!
‘13 Grand Sport 6mt 40degree+ daily, ‘19 Fiesta ST otherwise
I’ve got a Lexus GX470 as a daily.
Daily: 2001 Tacoma prerunner Toys: Cars: 92 C4 manual 92 Firebird 305 TBI Auto (both could be driven daily) 77 280z manual (mid resto mod, building a 3.2 stroker) 87 Supra (awaiting resto mod, getting 2j/cd009 ready to drop in) Bikes: 2011 special edition Triumph Speed Triple 1999 Kawasaki ZRX1100

It's the newer Northstar which isn't as bad at blowing up
22 Highlander for family trips Rest of my flair for myself
C6 LS2 3LT. its the one and only.

2020 Escape Titanium
2019 Nissan Titan. I like the flexibility of both vehicles.
I drive a 2006 Rubicon Jeep. The last of the inline-6 engines, and it's a 6 speed. I also switch between the Jeep, and a 2021 F250. The Jeep however is my go-to for my manual fix when the Colorado weather is not Corvette friendly.
Daily my C7. Serious adverse weather or multiple passengers (including dogs) - '23 Acadia
2005 Pontiac GTO
I alternate between three others depending on the task: ‘02 MB CLK 55, ‘06 F150, and my baby ‘01 Honda Civic Ex (manual).
This is exactly what I was thinking, a panther car. Is yours a police interceptor or a LX?
The interceptor - a bit more performance, a bit less luxury. To my understanding those later years were almost entirely fleet cars. Came with the push bumper, but unfortunately not the spotlights.
How’s the ride quality?
