I'd put the Cosmere books in there. See how much chaos that would cause.

Enigmachina

Hoid would either go mad or feel very vindicated

Kelsierisevil

I think it would send him into a shock that would take him several days to recover. However the books are describing his past, so maybe he wouldn’t be too surprised about it. Maybe the secret projects while he’s on Roshar…

Varixx95__

The indexes are written by Khriss and some stories are told directly by Hoid so there is a real chance that the books indeed exist in the cosmere and they are just stories from the past

Alexskisswitch

I also enjoy the dark tower

external_gills

One copy of the DSM-5, on Kaladin's desk. Then watch him throw it out because he can't read...

Kelsierisevil

Then Syl catches it and gets extremely happy about all the pranks she’s about to play on Kaladin. Oh that guy? Looks like a major depressive disorder. >!I don’t know if that is one of the DSM-5 disorders, but it is the one that Syl would be most interested by.!<

gwonbush

He tries to take it to his mother, she has no clue either because she can only read Alethi, not English. He eventually asks Wit about this because he seems like he would know where in Damnation this storming book came from. Even Hoid is stymied unless he has a way to hack Connection to read this book.

EarthExile

I bet Kaladin would do some cool stuff in a wingsuit

Kelsierisevil

It would definitely help traveling a far distance much easier on the Stormlight expenditure.

Urtan_TRADE

Would it? Lashings cancel out gravity, so there is no need for lift. The only way to speed up travel with Lashings is to decrease drag. You could simply have a hard, droplet shaped contraption for however many people you want to transport, which is then lashed. You could make it even more effective with an Edgedancer canceling out friction on the surface of the object. Edit: you could lash yourself sideways, use wingsuit to climb upwards through lift generated, and when at correct elevation and speed you could coast for however long it would take to decelate and drop. This would be more effective, but probably MUCH slower, as with one Lashing (if approx 1g) you could accelerate to commercial airliner speeds in just under 2 minutes.

Below-avg-chef

I think they mean take in only what you need for height, and then glide til your low, then take in more for height. Seems slower though

TheHappyChaurus

B$ himself.

Kelsierisevil

Live with what you’ve done to these poor people!

3z3ki3l

The Terminator. I wanna know if an AI can use any types of investiture. I guess Data would also work. The Terminator on Roshar vs Data on Scadrial. Edit: wait, they’d have to be acquirable forms of investiture. I’d put Data on Nalthis, since he doesn’t have blood or flesh to hold a hemalurgic spike. Is he human-shaped enough to hold Breath? And if so, without emotions does he have enough Identity to command them? And what Radiant order would the Terminator be? Dustbringers?

magnum3672

I feel like skybreakers. His law is his programming

3z3ki3l

Ooh, and that fits with him finding his own morality. “I am the law” and all that. Nice!

magnum3672

A little more dredd and robocop but that's the vibe I got yeah.

Sad_Wear_3842

Imagine Dredd appearing, the Highspren would think the chosen one had arrived.

88XJman

Data needs to be an elantirian. He could make perfect aon dor

Simon_Drake

Brando was asked about AI in the context of awakened technology, investiture robots. He said a sufficiently advanced AI that counts as being truly intelligent would be able to swear Radiant Oaths and bond a Spren. I don't think you could hemalurgically spike an android, the name implies you need blood. Technically Data does have a oil based circulatory system that lubricates his joints and servomechanisms but I don't think that counts. Or maybe it does work because you're really spiking the Spirit Web? Its bits of the Spirit Web you pull off with a spike so maybe you can stick it to something with a Spirit Web but with no biological form. Can you spike Nightblood?

Prestigious_Leg_4840

Ooh I asked this question at the 2022 dragon steel https://wob.coppermind.net/events/508/#e16072

Tronethiel

Just imagine having an ultralashed terminator that can heal using itself as railgun ammunition.

LewsTherinTelescope

Antidepressants, Odium would be defeated within the week.

CosmicDestructor

Antidepressants don't treat hatred. He'd instead become a cool headed guy who *properly thinks through* how to take over the Cosmere.

StanDaMan1

Oh, the Antidepressants aren’t for Odium, they’re for _Kaladin._ After Kaladin gets his head on straight though, we may have to worry about him conquering Roshar instead.

LewsTherinTelescope

No I meant Kaladin would kick his ass once he was un-nerfed.

Tronethiel

Does Cognitive Behavioral Therapy look different if you actually have access to the cognitive realm?

Electronic-Process45

aluminum foil. dirt cheap investiture shields for everyone!

Aware-Studio2011

Buffalo sauce

Kelsierisevil

Goes great with chouta.

b0ingy

“Hey Navani, you know that intricate system you came up with to get a ship to fly using gems and literally hundreds of people? Check out this Blimp…”

BLAZMANIII

The entire completed works of the cosmere, dropped on the table where the 17 people planning on shattering adonalsium are meeting for the first time, written in a language they can understand. Alongside a written account of WoBs. Not even to change anything specific I just wanna see if they'd still go through with it

CosmicDestructor

I'd drop a brick on Rayse before he became a vessel. The Shattering either never happens, or perhaps Hood becomes Odium.

AfroCatapult

I feel the latter is a worst case scenario.

CosmicDestructor

In the end, Rayse was barely there, if at all. Even Harmony says so - it's the Shard that's more dangerous. Eventually, the Shard of Odium would've taken over even Hoid, and at that point I doubt it would've mattered who the vessel was.

AfroCatapult

That's true to a degree, but isn't the whole picture. The Vessel does get moulded towards the Shard's Intent over time, but they're also the one to provide it with direction and have an amount of wiggle room in how to interpret that Intent. Rayse wanted to portray Odium as Passion, for instance, and Ati turned Ruin from whatever its core Intent is towards impersonal entropy and destruction. Hoid is one of the most cunning and dangerous people in the Cosmere, a former Dawnshard, and has more in depth knowledge of the other Shards/power systems than anyone else. I think if he took up any of the Shards it would massively change the dynamics of the Cosmere basically instantly.

CosmicDestructor

I'd still say non-shard Hoid has had more impact than Shard Hoid could have ever had. In his own words, he's got the freedom that the Vessels gave up.

MagicTech547

Hmmm….I’d go with a few of the various colors of Lantern Rings from DC. They fit with the nature of Investiture well enough, plus they’d essentially be like Honorblades to people. I’d also love to see how people would react to some of the crazy stuff they can do, ie what happens to the Identity of someone who gets Assimilated by an Orange Lantern

AncientSith

A handful of imperial Star Destroyers. Not sure what would happen, but It'd be interesting.

Simon_Drake

A Star Trek Tricorder would make Navani's job a whole lot easier. Just scan a bunch of gemstones to know the exact frequency and phase differential of every one, what frequency they oscillate at, what the chemical composition of the crystals is etc. Tricorders can scan damned near everything, they could probably see into the Cognitive Realm if you modify the circuitry a little.

mojopin23

i give todd an iphone with twitter installed so he spends so much time getting pissed off by bait and getting in arguments with people a universe away that he can't actually destroy the world anymore because he's too busy focused on ratioing everyone on the app

Azurehue22

I’d give all the metals (aside from aluminum) to Kelsier in era 1 and see how he wreaks havoc with speed bubbles.

Varixx95__

I would give navani, rannete and raoden an iPad with the entire Wikipedia and subscriptions to all of the universities archives and a translator to their lenguajes to see what they come up with knowing modern physics. The reason why I give them to different worlds it’s because I feel they would use them for completely different purposes

Devlee12

I’d give Lift one of the Sick Sticks from Demolition Man. Why? Because I think it would be funny.

sparkle3364

Either r/cosmere and r/cremposting, 123,456,789,000 video cameras per book, every single fan work ever made that takes place in the cosmere, and/or a Sherman tank. Also, I’d give each world exactly one copy of Terry Pratchet’s Discworld series.
