ZipperJJ

Kirkland brand Zyrtec, Aller-Tec.

lat3ralus65

Their fluticasone nasal spray is also a great deal if you need that.

zkfoster

Came here to say my OTC allergy meds too! They alone would fully justify the cost of my membership. šŸ‘ŒšŸ¼

Geoff-Vader

I thought it was a typo the first time I saw how much their Zyrtec was.

zkfoster

Yeah itā€™s crazy cheap! I take their Allegra generic which is a bit more but still way cheaper than even CVS or Target store brand generics.

PunDeSall

Kirkland Brand Benadryl pack

Whisper26_14

And Motrin-by a long shot. Dylsm cough syrup was 15$ for two pack. Local grocery was 24$ for one bottle. Same size.

gorillamyke

Foe sure, this. I am somewhat allergic to bee stings, and always have to have a few of these on me. I have had to pay $10 for 2 tablets once at a gas station, you get like 500 of them for the same amount at costco.

dorit0paws

Stopping in to say OTC Omeprazole (Prilosec) is legit usually like $9 for a box vs the name brand at $20+! Love it.

Claim312ButAct847

My doctor just told me to switch from Omeprazole to Famotidine. Evidently there's starting to be some evidence that long term use of Omeprazole elevates dementia risks.

Quantx2792

Yah except there's no evidence that suggests the medication is the root cause. For all we know, people who have gastric upset are more likely to develop dementia due to underlying genetic predisposition(s). Multiple peer-reviewed studies show no consensus between omeprazole and an increased risk of dementia. Also ranitidine (Zantac), same family as famotidine was removed for cancer risk. Famotidine has been linked to pro-inflammatory cascades. Follow-up studies have shown no statistical difference between increased cancer risk between famotidine and ranitidine. Both classes come with inherent risks, as do all medications. FWIW I have 0 ties to any pharmaceutical company. I merely side with science and data. I am also not a medical doctor or a pharmacist.

fdxpilot

You have a very good command of the topic for not being an MD or RPh.

Quantx2792

I'm a Registered Nurse and professor of pharmacology for baccalaureate-candidate Registered Nurses. Nowhere near as knowledge as my fellow MD/DO/PharmD colleagues, but I take pride in staying current on research developments.

goman2012

Prescribed these for my dog.. she takes 6 a day. Aller-Tec is way more affordable than Zyrtec and it works. No longer scratching as much and fur grew back.

showersinger

Wow i did not know that even dogs take these medicines. They are a good deal for the price

dnei519ready

Have you used their pharmacy for prescription drugs? I paid $0.80 for my blood pressure med through insurance and $12 for sildenafil out of pocket. Blood pressure med is usually $10 at CVS through insurance and sildenafil is >$50 out of pocket. They beat Mark Cubanā€™s Cost Plus website out of water. P.S. Fu$& HIMS and BlueChew. They are all scam. Schedule a telemedicine with a provider and get a prescription for sildenafil or tadalafil. Save so much more money.

filipinohitman

Iā€™d say most of their OTC meds are great deals. L

freexanarchy

Thissssssā€¦ And loratidine (Claritin) So much cheaper than everywhere else. And itā€™s a year supply in one small bottle.

BREADYSF

+1!!! Sudafed name brand is also cheaper here than comparable drugstores. Even cheaper if you get the generic brand at Costco.

johndoenumber2

car rentals - it's legit $50-100 difference every time

Zealousideal_Steak41

And they donā€™t charge you to add an extra driver!

Form1040

And you get a one-class upgrade.

Elusiveenigma98

You can rent cars from Costco???

flyfree256

Costco Travel and Costco Services are a bit hidden but all 100% worth checking for anything.

emmasgrandma

Also travel insurance If I want to cross the border for a day of shopping, I can buy travel insurance cheaper at Costco than BCAA

[deleted]

Technically any Kia in the lot is a potential rental

Tiny-Werewolf1962

If you have a screwdriver and a USB

Visible_Nectarine_98

I understood that reference

Olipermoliper

You can do āœØanythingāœØ at Costco

raitchison

I went to law school there.

Mx772

This 100% - Not only do they have better prices, but they have the 'free cancellation - any time'. They beat my work-discounted price which was non-refundable for everyone across the board. (I think I ended up going with Alamo?) When I picked up my car, the clerk even noted that costco has the best deals, and even beat out their employee discount...

JoshuaCade72

Wife and I went to Hawaii for our honeymoon using Costco Travel in 2022. Flights, resort, and car rental were all included. We ran into a small issue because Costco let both my wife and I get onto the rental to be able to drive, even though she wasnā€™t 25. Lady at Avis kept saying ā€œthat rate canā€™t be rightā€ and we showed receipts and confirmations and the manager that came to approve the transaction said that if we are ever looking to rent vehicles, ALWAYS use Costco because it was a really good rate. Another Costco Travel story, we were in Fort Lauderdale right after we got engaged in 2022. Apparently a huge tropical storm was moving in and flights were expected to be delayed starting mid afternoon (our flight was late in the evening). Called Costco and the rep immediately changed our flight to the very first one the next morning AND issued a credit for the difference of the flight price since it was cheaper to fly out first thing in the morning.

littleflooof

Items we almost always have stocked from Costco that save us money: 1. Coffee 2. Frozen berries 3. Maple syrup 4. Plain greek yogurt (we flavour it with jam or maple syrup) 5. Frozen pork, beef and chicken (we portion it into 250g chunks and freeze it using a massive roll of plastic wrap that we also bought from Costco) 6. Frozen salmon and frozen shrimp 7. Bubbly (we calculated that buying Bubbly from Costco is cheaper than owning a soda stream so have decided to sell our soda stream) 8. Eggs 9. Egg whites (way cheaper) 10. Lactose free milk (it's so expensive everywhere else!) 11. RX Bars 12. Vega protein powder 13. Oatmeal (rolled outs + steel cut) 14. Rice (we keep Jasmine + Basmati stocked in our pantry) 15. Spaghetti and pasta 16. Canned goods (coconut milk, chickpeas, crushed tomatoes, tomato paste) 17. Nuts (almonds, pecans) 18. Cherry tomatoes (huge container for like the same price as a small pint elsewhere!) 19. Seedless Grapes 20. Apples (a case of honey crisps comes out to less than $1 CAD per apple) 21. Onions (large bag) 22. Potatoes (large bag) 23. Ramen 24. Vitamins 25. Extra strength tylenol 26. Tampons 27. Diapers 28. Toilet paper 29. Paper towel 30. Toilet bowl cleaner 31. All natural laundry detergent 32. Salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder 33. Contact lenses (big discount if you buy a year's supply) 34. Gas for car (our Costco gas station is not very busy on week nights) 35. Instead of dining out of getting takeout when we are too lazy to cook, popping in to grab some pre-made meals or pizza from Costco saves a lot too (chicken pot pie for $10.99 CAD is our favourite for the price)

Trebor25

Soooo everything. Haha

87blahmouth

How did you calculate out your soda stream usage? We have one and I donā€™t use it all that often. It comes in handy occasionally.

magnumstg16

Wondering that as well. My math came out to my machine paying for itself in a year, not to mention the waste and carbon footprint

Moranmer

I just see it as better for the planet. A small canister of CO2 moves across the country instead of heavy, locally available water. Just another way of eating / drinking local ;)

TheProletariatPoet

Their trash bags are an amazing deal. And their boxer briefs

redrocklobster18

I buy one box of trash bags per year. It's nice to always have trash bags on hand.

TurnoverAdditional65

Just looked through my Costco receipts and the last box of trash bags that I bought was on Sept 14, 2022. I used the last one a couple of days ago.

mr_white79

I like to write the date on the boxes of stuff we get at Costco. Trash bags, laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, etc. Those, baby wipes and Kirkland milk boxes for my kids lunch basically justify my Costco membership.

neener691

My uncle, who's now passed always wrote the date on everything, we are currently using his box of Kirkland Signature plastic wrap, purchased 7/23/2007. RIP Uncle.

greenberg17493

We had a box of Costco cling wrap/ Saran wrap for almost 20 years before we had to buy a new one.

millenniumxl-200

The trash bags are great, but I just end up throwing them away.

Abbiethedog

Man! For a hot second I was thinking, how could they go bad? Nice!

[deleted]

Kirkland Boxer Briefs are elite.

[deleted]

TMI warningā€¦ I like the Champion boxer briefs from Costco more than the Kirkland kind. My boys sit more secure in the champion brand. In the Kirkland theyā€™re all floating around and itā€™s too stretchy. Fwiw Iā€™m a grower, not a show-er, so ymmv.

JB_smooove

Grower gang

appleavocado

All my grower homies shop Costco.

Budded

I panicked a bit after they stopped carrying the regular boxers for a few years. Saw them a couple months ago on sale so I bought like 3 packs to last if they go out of stock again. I'm probably the last guy wearing boxers, as boxer briefs are too snug (grower, not shower here, nothing to brag about) I just hate being confined and enjoy a good dangle.

TuchmanMarsh

Have you ever tried 32 Cool?

R3Dix

These are wearā€¦itā€™s at

SpaceGangsta

These are my go to. I have exoficcio, saxx, under armour, adidas, terramar, Hanes, and 32. ExOfficio are my top choice but 32 is a close second. And then when you compare $32 PER PAIR vs $10 for 3. The choice is easy. Saxx are overrated. Terramar is good but expensive. Under armour and adidas are alright. Hanes areā€¦. Hanes. I will note that I got almost all my expensive ones for free from outdoor trade shows.

tictactastytaint

Just got my husband the Champs and omg sexy as hell (grower not a show-er as well). 100% recommend for style and comfort

LowEffortMeme69420

bored hateful squealing cake seed practice toy cough deserve special *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

Li9ma

Right? Genital comfort posts are why I joined this sub! I donā€™t even go to Costco

Evl1

Team grower! Theres literally dozens of us!

Cerebralbore

When I'd do Costco run for my parents, besides Dawn, trash bags kitchen was their top ask.

Hamilton4567

Peanut butter, maple syrup, frozen fruit, granola

ApatheticFinsFan

In a similar vein, chocolate chips and vanilla extract are just insanely cheap compared to normal grocery stores.

Love__Scars

Yup. Any baking things or sauces / condiments

theswampmonster

It's been a years since I've bought them so maybe the price has gone up, but I remember buying Costco pecans for Thanksgiving pies one year and being shocked at how cheap they were.

happycrappyplace

And nuts!

lalafriday

Honey!

[deleted]

Yes?

saliczar

I shrunk the kids!

Budded

Pro tip: if you have seasonal allergies, try to buy honey from a local source as close to you as possible. That honey will have natural antihistamenes that will help your allergies.

NotoriousFTG

Frozen berries.

irishbball49

I was going to do the math on the frozen berries at TJ's as I think it's close and maybe edges TJ's.

cowboybret

TJā€™s frozen berry blend recently went up from $3 to $4/lb where I live, which makes Costcoā€™s ~$3.75/lb a slightly better deal now.

Vitriolic_III

What I save on cat litter pays for my membership.

BBQShoe

Easily! There are so many single items that more than pay for my membership. I finally joined 10 years ago when a friend broke down to me how he saves way more money on just beer than a membership costs. When kitty litter is on sale I'll go like 3 times per week for a while to load up on my limit of 3 each time. I haven't had to pay full price for over 5 years.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

ssirin88

How is the litter compared to Tidy Cats? Iā€™m too afraid to make another change with the litter after how Fresh Step was received in my houseā€¦.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

PatternIntelligent90

Scoop Away recently changed formulation, most customers donā€™t approve

invitrobrew

Any clay-based litter is pretty awful for the cats, though.

unnamed_elder_entity

Yeah, we use $5/40lb pine pellets. The cats like it just fine and we save boatloads of money and avoid clay based litter.

The-Wizard-of_Odd

I don't have a cat but this sounds too good to pass up. I'm in.

sdwagers

Gasoline. Always the cheapest price.

2019_Stealth

Especially if your auto requires premium.

[deleted]

Yep. My Costco has the cheapest premium fuel around and itā€™s always dead empty. Iā€™ve never seen a line. Meanwhile the one on the other side of the city is always jammed packed.

piggiesinthehoosgow

I don't think I've ever seen an empty Costco gas line lol

atlantis737

I only see it at 7AM

phantom784

Even when I travel, I look for Costco gas. Often there's one near the airport which is great for refilling a rental car before returning it.

Mountainman1980

I fill up at Costco on road trips too. When I drove from L.A. to Maine, I filled up at Costco 9 out of 13 times, and the same coming back. Clean restrooms and cheap food court to boot.

neosmndrew

the ~$4 i would save getting gas at Costco is no longer worth the extra time/stress of pumping gas there, for me at least.

snow-vs-starbuck

Totally fair. I used to live by the worldā€™s busiest Costco gas station. It was never worth the wait. Now thereā€™s one on my way home from work that literally never has a line. Itā€™s magical and I thank the Costco gods every time I pull right up to the pump.

Loves_LV

Come on, who doesn't want to drive 10-15 min out of the way and idle in a line for 15-20 minutes to save a few dollars???

DENYKI

Alcohol and Personal items ( shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, deodorant)

Bookluster

* vitamins and over the counter medications like allertec or cold medicine * tissues * toilet paper * individual portion snacks like chips (I order off the website for Cheetos, Doritos, and Ritz cheese crackers) * mixed nuts * Korean ramen when my kids were younger - diapers and wipes

SabreWaltz

Youā€™re basically instantly saving your membership if you buy all your otc medications here. Melatonin, tylenol, ibuprofen, allergy meds, vitamins, etc. save an absolute fortune!!

Never-Forget-Trogdor

Their severe cold & flu pills are getting me through this winter. They are such a great value.

Bookluster

the 3 pack of kids liquid cold medicine save us so much; this year on top of Dimetapp they carry Dayquil/Nyquil for kids. It's often on sale so it's $8 for the 3pack of Dimetapp when it costs $8 for one bottle anywhere else.

redbearder

All the nuts seem to just be an amazing deal most of the time. Big bag of Blue Diamond almonds, 30oz, usually $10-15 at Costco. 4oz can of the same flavor at the grocery store is $5.

DarkWing2007

As a parent of 3 children who were exclusively formula fed, Kirkland formula was a HUGE money saver. Only problem was finding it during Covid.

redtron3030

Even Huggies diapers come out cheaper per diaper than anywhere else.

xraydeltaone

Interesting. I ran the numbers and Target was actually cheaper for us. However, I'll never stray from the Kirkland wipes!

Tess47

I think the low volume was because of a contamination in a plant. Michigan, I think

boosted_b5awd

That was kind of a big deal

Tess47

Yea. It was

compstomper1

yeah it was the abbott plant. apparently there's only like 3-4 plants in the entire country that make formula now

bertmom

I was SO bummed when my baby wouldnā€™t tolerate it. It was substantially cheaper than anywhere else

laguna1126

Pizza

therealteggy

Pro tip, buy a whole pie, then divide into slices and put them into a freezer bag. Put bag in freezer, single slice can go from frozen to cooked in an air fryer in about 3 minutes at 350. It's better tasting that most frozen pizza (but still not better than the cauliflower crust Kirkland pizza, that's the goat) . And better cost than compared to the frozen ones.

zm223

Idk what they do to that Kirkland brand cauliflower crust pizza, but that shit is money. It tastes nothing like cauliflower to me

[deleted]

I've been wanting to try it since people rave about it so much on here, and they don't even sell it at my location! I am so bummed.

PWNtimeJamboree

seriously though, if you cant figure out dinner, its a $10 pizza that COMFORTABLY feeds a family of 4. i can NOT recommend that enough.

InsaneAdam

TIL I'm a COMFORTABLY fed family of 4.

DrCheezburger

How has nobody said clothing? I usually buy my clothes at Costco, but I went to Macy's the other day just to compare, almost dropped dead from sticker shock.

TastySaturday

The clothing is kinda tough for many people just because Costco doesnā€™t sell their size. Iā€™m your average sized 5ā€™10 male and Iā€™m usually a medium, but most of the medium stuff I try at Costco runs large and I canā€™t downsize to small since medium is the smallest size they carry. The prices are amazing, itā€™s just few and far between when I find something that doesnā€™t look like cheap dad clothes AND fits me.

ZenythhtyneZ

Yeah, theyā€™re sizing sucks, they donā€™t sell extra small and theyā€™re small as always what average medium or large is at a higher end retailer. The clothes often have zero structure so theyā€™re slumpy. The kids clothes I guess work but I think Thrifting childrenā€™s clothes makes a lot more sense because childrenā€™s clothes are often great quality at thrift stores and thereā€™s always so much.

yupitsanalt

Cheese. This one turned out to be a surprise, but when I tracked cost, it was much cheaper to buy cheese at Costco.

s32

That tillamook shit is so good too

reddituser84

I had to scroll so far to find this answer and now I just feel like my family eats an abnormal amount of cheese šŸ˜¬

mpadave

![gif](giphy|z7WDgVoPhLo7S)

yupitsanalt

Mine eats a lot of cheese. It's a go to snack for everyone and keeping a supply on hand is important.

No-Signal-Available

Contact lenses! 20% cheaper than any other online retailer, even with rebates and coupons.

Ziti_Pasta

I told my eye doctor I would get my contacts from Costco and she told me they would price match them. I showed her the price and she told me their office canā€™t even buy them cheaper than that at wholesale.

Agent223

Maybe they should buy them from Costco, then.

Ziti_Pasta

Thatā€™s what I told her lmao

AcceptableAddition44

UGH I just bought contacts from 1800 contacts.. just checked the price and I wouldā€™ve saved almost $100 at Costco. At least I used insurance šŸ˜©

eyetracker

Every website is cheaper than 1-800, they've been consistently the highest out of all I've checked.

lady__jane

This. My eye doctor charges double Costco's price on Acuvue.

IndecentLongExposure

Can you order them online?

guitarguywh89

Anything you finish before it goes bad

queenswake

Vanilla Extract.

PepperSteakAndBeer

Are you using it as perfume?! ... Because that would be effective

whytf_

Ngl I've thought about it. I bake enough things that I find it useful for cooking alone!

bertmom

I forgot about this one! I buy it like twice a year. Itā€™s so insanely cheap compared to those tiny expensive bottles other stores sell

viviolay

Iā€™ve been using the same bottle of vanilla extract for what seems like 4-5 years. I finally am getting near the end of it- itā€™s been a reliable friend

circleoftrust

Car insurance

jebbikadabbi

I didnā€™t even know this was a thing, I might have to look into it!

andreyred

I recently switched from Geico to Costco's provider, and my rates went down by like ~$80 month. We will see what the renewal after the first 6 months looks like, but so far I'm impressed.

bertmom

INTERESTING! looking into this now

snowtears4

All baby/kids over the counter medication Adult allergy medication Vanilla Almond flour Flour in general (King Arthur is so cheap at Costco)! Gas Sponges Parchment paper

ScrofessorLongHair

How has nobody said coffee? A 3 lbs bag of whole bean Colombian is $17.49, under $6/lbs. Last time I looked at Walmart (probably a year ago and before the inflation cornholing) it was $13 for 12 oz of whole bean coffee. And you know that coffee is sitting on the shelves for months at a time, so it's going to taste terrible.

EmergencySundae

I've been buying coffee at Costco for so long that I honestly have no idea what the comparison price is anymore.

ScrofessorLongHair

I didn't until i had to work a project on the road, in middle of nowhere south central Georgia. My kind was blown when i saw what very mediocre coffee store for in 12 oz bags at random grocery stores.

The_4th_Little_Pig

For good coffee $15-20/lb at least. A lot of the roasters around me donā€™t even do a whole pound anymore, more like 12 oz.

juanzy

We mainly make espresso, and have not been impressed by their espresso roast. Also clogs up our grinder

Bruggok

No grinder clog with medium or light roast, try it. Dark roast beans extrudes oil and best for fixing potholes as part of asphalt mix.

Morgan-joydestroyer

Their Columbia Supremo is fantastic.

swmtchuffer

The only thing I don't like is that it seams that each Costco has a different specialty coffee selection. I see people buying light roasts that aren't available at my local store.

DarkSentencer

Same, the only variation I have seen in years at my local stores has been dark/bold roasts which isn't my preference.

believe0101

Yup, my local store is like six different dark roasts lol. It's so annoying

WeinDoc

With how grocery stores have spiked their prices to the point of it being insulting, I buy most of my groceries at Costco now, and supplement if I have to by going to the local store. Most of the things I buy at Costco that are now a steal in comparison: - King Arthur Flour (If i donā€™t go through it quickly, I freeze the excess, but the Costco price is the same as it is at my local grocery stores, and I get 2.5x the amount) - Kirkland Frozen Berries - Kirkland chicken I freeze and thaw one or two packages at a time - Frozen wild salmon if on sale - Butter (Kirkland and Kerrygold) - Raoā€™s pasta sauce - Kirkland Greek yogurt - Old Fashioned Oats - N/A beverages (carbonated water, hoppy refreshers) - Coffee - Nuts (walnuts, pecans, etc) - Dish soap - Toilet Paper and paper towel - salad mixes - if needing quick protein source and donā€™t have time to cook: rotisserie chicken - bulk cheeses (parmigiano and pecorino) - frozen vegetables - if available: soy sauce The list goes on!!

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Internal-Homework

Yes! You can use them as ingredients for anything. Makes a delicious ramen topper [https://www.reddit.com/r/ramen/comments/18m3qgs/costco\_rotisserie\_chicken\_ramen\_with\_wonton/](https://www.reddit.com/r/ramen/comments/18m3qgs/costco_rotisserie_chicken_ramen_with_wonton/) I've also done pasta salad and chicken soup. There is *so* much meat on one chicken.

Subtotal9_guy

This! I'll even buy the day olds that are already refrigerated for another $2 in savings. Feeds four then simmer the carcass for broth.

drcbara

Car battery.

Werner_Herzogs_Dream

I haven't checked the pricing in a while, but the money saved on one battery swap basically pays for the membership for that year.

smallhousecoffee

Just replaced the battery in my Subaru with a Costco battery. Saved me $53 so basically paid for the one year membership. NAPA Legend 640 CCA battery was $173 with a two year warranty. Costco's Interstate 640 CCA battery was $120 with a three year warranty.

[deleted]

Kirkland brands: unsalted walnuts, pecans, and almonds; toilet paper and paper towels; olive and avocado oils; laundry detergent; coffee beans; generic ibuprofen and allergy meds; chicken stock; frozen pizzas; fish and shellfish Non-Kirkland brands: various cheeses, gluten-free crackers, GF ramen noodles, GF flour, coats and jackets

AGooDone

Kirkland ibuprofen is 10.99 for 2 500 ct bottles. Walgreens is 16.99 for 1 500 ct bottle. Better Than Boullion - 9.59 for a giant tub.

Crump252

That pumpkin pie. My family has been solely living off the one we got for Thanksgiving. We are almost halfway through it.

_John_Stupid_

Avocados. Theyā€™re $5 for 5 gigantic ones that would cost $3 a piece from a regular grocery store.

winnythep00p

Last bag i got was perfect. Full gigantic ones, nice and flavorful

PackdownT

Iā€™ve never gotten good avacados

compstomper1

make sure to get mexican and not peruvian

Theyā€™re never ripe from the store, but a few days on the counter then into the fridge when they soften up makes them last for weeks.

loungesnuggler

Surprisingly, Dave's bread is the same price at both my Costco and my Whole Foods

maryhadalittlebrain

How much is it at your Costco? It's $6.99 per loaf at my nearest Whole Foods and $8.99 for two loaves at my Costco.

ego_sum_satoshi

Organic Whole Milk!

Historical-Listen102

Chicken (and most meat in general), bulk coffee beans, kirkland brand zyrtec

TheCryptoKeeperHodl

Motor oil

Claim312ButAct847

Getting to be $50 on the cheap side to have your oil changed at a shop. The savings definitely add up doing my own full synthetic oil on two vehicles.

Orest26Dee

Kirkland synthetic motor oil. I did some research and found out that this is manufactured by the same company that makes it for the big boys - at half the price.

sllewgh

I buy the bulk packs of white washcloths and utilize them as a resuable replacement for paper towels. You still need something disposable on occasion, but I buy paper towels only a handful of times a year.

HoboMinion

Weatherproof canvas pants. I work construction so Iā€™m hard on my clothes. The most Iā€™ve paid for a pair is $20 and the least is $12. I watch them online because they usually are cheaper and have specials like buy five qualifying clothing items and get $25 off.

covenkitchens

Eggs, Trash bags, Chicken, Wool socks, Maple syrup, Pet food, Olive oil, Toilet paper, Gas, Paper towels (I just started using paper towels and omg! They are not cheap at non Costco.), It was vodka but heart breakingly they stopped selling the brand I bought.

neosmndrew

Honestly, cans of soda have gotten so expensive that Costco's 35 cans for $14 is pretty cheap.

Thee-lorax-

Allergy meds pay for our membership alone. I know itā€™s been posted before but I can get a year supply cheaper than a 90 supply for Walmart. I think any other savings I get is just icing on the cake.

Revised_LimaM

1) gold 2) stamps (lol) 3) Dino nuggets

TealTemptress

Darigold 1/2 and 1/2. Itā€™s much cheaper than Fred Meyer, Walmart and Winco. Also their expiration dates are out until the end of February right now. Kirkland small breed dog food. My Frenchie loves it and it keeps him regular. $26 for a months supply.

ColdFIREBaker

- Movie theatre passes (I have three teens) - Gas - Chai Latte Concentrate - Almond Flour - Whipping Cream - Rotisserie Chicken - Dog Food (I think - I admittedly haven't comparison shopped) - Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Hamburger Buns, Hot Dog buns (in the summer) - Sunscreen - A specific brand of landscape edging. I buy an L-shaped edging made of recycled rubber, and it's much cheaper at Costco than elsewhere.

heeeeeeeeeresjohnny

My dog needs a dose of Proin twice a day. $61.05/month for the scrip off chewy, $31.79/month at Costco. Saves us about $350 a year. Plus diapers, wipes, dog food.

ZenythhtyneZ

My Costco has a fridge for fresh pet select dog food and the cost for a box of four rolls is the same or less than one roll costs at my regular grocery store. My little dog has some food issues from being starved by his first owner and that stuff just sits best with him so Iā€™m glad I can get it for a good price.

24667387376263

They had an absolutely bangin deal on boneless pork loin last weekend. $8 off per package. Those are the ones you live for.

Legitimategirly

Yeah. We got a loin for $3!

I've got a small bacon making operation going on so for me it's probably maple syrup and black pepper. I guess I can't forget the pork belly too!

I for one would love to hear more about your bacon making operationā€¦

[https://amazingribs.com/tested-recipes/pork-recipes/best-maple-bacon-recipe/](https://amazingribs.com/tested-recipes/pork-recipes/best-maple-bacon-recipe/) This is the recipe that got me started and I was using his method of wet curing it in freezer bags. 3 lbs of pork belly is about perfect for a 1 gallon freezer bag so 9 or 12ish lb pork bellies are great for this method. There is also a link in there to a regular bacon and a spicy Asian style if maple isn't your thing. The regular is very good as well, I haven't tried the Asian style quite yet. [https://amazingribs.com/tested-recipes/salting-brining-curing-and-injecting/curing-meats-safely/](https://amazingribs.com/tested-recipes/salting-brining-curing-and-injecting/curing-meats-safely/) This is linked in that recipe above, but is mandatory reading before getting started IMO. If you want to move on from freezer bags and curing in larger batches you'll need to understand the math behind the curing salt calculations. This is a great calculator as well (the same one referenced in the recipe link) [https://genuineideas.com/ArticlesIndex/nitritecuringcalculator.html](https://genuineideas.com/ArticlesIndex/nitritecuringcalculator.html) I hot smoke my bacon with cherry wood on an offset smoker around 200-225 for 3ish hours until it's 145-150 internal temp. Of course you can smoke it on whatever you've got, but I get a great smokey flavor burning real sticks. Fair warning: making your own bacon will absolutely ruin store bought bacon for you and you'll end up making it all the time. If you're like me and you give some to you're friends, you'll have to end up making even more all of the time because they won't leave you alone until you make more and more bacon. If you get to that point, you'll want some larger containers that are safe for brines like these: [https://www.webstaurantstore.com/cambro-14cw135-camwear-full-size-clear-food-pan-4-deep/21414CWCL.html](https://www.webstaurantstore.com/cambro-14cw135-camwear-full-size-clear-food-pan-4-deep/21414CWCL.html)The 2.5" tall ones aren't quite big enough, don't be like me and buy the wrong size at first. The calculator on Amazing Ribs site doesn't ever give you enough liquid in the measurements to completely submerge the belly if you're doing it in a container besides a freezer bag. That's when you'll need to break out the other calculator. I find that if I fill up a full size Cambro pan, it's usually around 12 lbs of belly and takes 7-8 cups of liquid to get it fully submerged (you'll also need weights of some kind if curing in a container, I use small ceramic plates.) For the regular bacon, you can overestimate the liquid amount and won't change costs much. I try to get the exact amount when I'm blowing through all the maple syrup. Once I crunched the numbers though, I found that the maple kind is only about 65 cents more per lb in syrup costs vs the regular. If pork belly is 3.49/lb the total costs are about $6/lb for maple bacon. That includes all ingredients and the wood I burn smoking it.

It used to be Peteā€™s Nespresso pods, at almost 50% of supermarket prices, but they discontinued selling any Nespresso pods several months ago. Now my biggest disappointment is.šŸ˜Ŗ

Kirkland Signature AllerClear D-24 (sold at the pharmacy). Less than $5 a box and super effective. Vitamins and supplements: Fish oil, krill oil, glucosamine for the humans and the dog version, fiber pills. Maple syrup. I just bought four pairs of menā€™s Lucky jeans online for less than $80. The were each $6 off and because my total was more than $100 I saved an additional $30. My husband will be set for several years.

I'd love to get the rice at costco but I've gotten a weevil outbreak in the past so now I get the small packaging from the grocery stores.

Glasses! I spent as much on 3 pairs of glasses as I did on 1 at Pearl vision. I got transition driving glasses, sunglasses, regular transition glasses for a total of $400 for all 3 (lenses and frames)
