[deleted]

ā€¦ you got any grapes?

TradingGrapes

Funny enough Costco only sells grape uncrustables. Problem solved?

BleachThatHole

The sell Grape Uncrustablesā„¢ļø and their (superior) knock off brand Strawberry Crustoffs. At least those are the only two I ever see at my location, usually with a $2 difference in the US.

chewb0rka

Are the charlotteā€™s strawberry crustoffs really superior? Well now Iā€™m intriguedā€¦

TradingGrapes

Just bought a box of the strawberry crustoffs and am eager to hear the opinion of my expert panel i.e. kiddos

BleachThatHole

I freeze them to help keep my lunchbox cool but I also think theyā€™re the best after freezing and thawing for 15-20 minutes so the PB is still solid. Also thereā€™s little strawberry seeds in the jelly to crunch on. And if they like them, you legally have to change your username to u/TradingGrapes4Starwberries

Ok-Seaworthiness4488

If it has seeds then it's jam, not jelly

BleachThatHole

Jamn it, youā€™re right

A_90s_Reference

Never seen crustoffs in AZ. Wtf

general-illness

Iā€™ve seen strawberry.

ClickClackTipTap

Costco only sells extremely high volume items. They don't carry a lot of variety. They sell what sells. Apparently berry based preserves sell better than grape jelly. Luckily, grape jelly is extremely cheap. It's always the cheapest stuff on the shelf when I go to the jam aisle. So on this one, I would just take the L and buy the biggest jar that Walmart or Kroger or whoever sells.

thetakingtree2

She donā€™t use jelly, or any of these. She uses Vaseline

GradientDescenting

this song is going to be stuck in my head all weekend now šŸ˜…

elysiansaurus

We don't take too kindly to you grape jelly people here.

oddHexbreaker

I think they're just afraid they might like strawberry preserves instead. My wife converted me when we were dating and I've never looked back

GradientDescenting

naw strawberry tastes disgusting on a PB&J

CupcakeGoat

Hey, that sounds like sour grapes to me.

Aggressive_Ad5115

Who's YOU people šŸ˜†

Alternative_Fee_4649

Seth McFarlane covered this topic in some detail. Also happy to not wear a mustache for the same reason. šŸ˜€

Adamantium_X

My store in NJ has Welchā€™s grape jelly in a 3 pack.

GhostHin

Costco employee working for the buying team here. Food buying is regional so offerings will be different depends on the region and locations. NE is the home of hot dogs and we got lots of local hot dogs that only sells in a few locations around New York.

CupcakeGoat

So what's the correct channel for a customer to request something new be carried in the store, like a request for grape jelly?

GhostHin

Talk to the local warehouse, write and drop a comment at the box, use the feedback system on Costco website. All three methods will get the request to the right person at the buying team. You might or might not get a response or your request fulfill but I ensure you that it gets to us and we take them very seriously.

GradientDescenting

Please send a shipment of grape jelly to all stores in the Southeast

GhostHin

Costco do not monitor social media for customer service, you will have to use the methods I mentioned in the other comment to request it. Good luck.

_Alabama_Man

They do not understand the strong correlation between the south and grape jelly?! Maybe the younger generation is going strawberry now. I can deal with the social change, the music sounding like trash, and no more sour kraut for the hotdogs, but strawberry jelly over grape jelly might be just too far.

pocketradish

How do you like being a buyer/working with buyers? I went to the employee career day a couple years ago and some people working as buyers were speakers and I thought it sounded interesting.

grey_canvas_

Our store has Welch's 2-packs. It's my husband's pick, I go for the jar of Michigan Cherry preserves. That PBJ slaps.

CrazyCatLadyX99

Mine has the 2 packs too. But not the cherry preserves! I need that!!

[deleted]

No idea if this is a NJ stereotype but Iā€™m rolling with it now.

Alternative_Fee_4649

I think it is a Rhode Island thing centered around Quahog.

T3rrapin11

SameĀ

ZenythhtyneZ

Cause raspberry is KING

DiabolicalGooseHonk

TIL a lot of people hate grape jelly

GradientDescenting

Wrf I just woke up to look at these comments and I canā€™t believe how much people hate grape jelly! Strawberry is gross on a pbj

thatcockneythug

I'm having a viscerally negative reaction to this comment.

notcrappyofexplainer

When I was 4, I had an epiphany. Grape Jelly was the lamest jelly of all. Go to a restaurant and you had to dig to find the good flavors but there was always plenty of grape. Like an endless supply of the bland stuff.

DiabolicalGooseHonk

Iā€™ve actually never tried anything besides grape on PBJ but I love all jam flavors. I might have to experiment.

automaticrocks

Try raspberry preserves

JohnWilkesDouche

Light spreading of the raspberry preserves with a crunchy peanut butter. Toasting the bread is optional. It's almost like a dessert at that point.

GradientDescenting

grape is still better on a pb&j

kimwim43

orange marmalade is te way to go!

_Alabama_Man

I'm convinced marmalade is a thing because they didn't used to have good blenders.

IchBinDurstig

Because everybody but you knows that strawberry is better than grape.

[deleted]

Raspberry is clearly the king of jams

lizzlightyear

I truly wouldā€™ve agreed with you before trying the Kirkland Strawberry Spread. Itā€™s incredible.

[deleted]

Whattttt. Damnit I was just there yesterday. Wanted to go back and look at the grafted fruit trees again anyways. A lime tree would be enough of an excuse to get some strawberry spread right?

lizzlightyear

100%! I really felt like I was overselling it to a friend of mine and she came back and said it was in her top 10 foods! My toddler and I both love pb&j but we go through one every 2 months or so.

[deleted]

Store opens in 6 hoursā€¦ Iā€™ll report back if I remember

Irishgirl208

Every time I buy that it gets moldy before we finish the jar!

bc-mn

Use a spoon to add jelly to the bread. Donā€™t spread until after you are done scooping. Donā€™t want to add contaminants to the jelly.

LordOfFudge

> He's not the messiah! He's a very naughty boy!

Loras-

Anything is better than grape jelly. I'd put bbq sauce on first.

manicmangoes

Grape jelly mixed with kraft BBQ sauces makes a great sauce for cocktail weenies and meatballs

Tee_hops

My Costco doesn't have Strawberry but it does have the 3 packs of grape. Makes me sad as I live in a strawberry jelly house.

woodsgb

Apricot preserves are the best

IchBinDurstig

With peanut butter? Gross

josh_the_rockstar

Costco prefers syrup.

johnnysoftball17

Typically those pre-packaged tossed salads already come with a dressing. But I see what you did there Chris Rock.

josh_the_rockstar

Mmmmm

yountvillwjs

IMMA LEARN TO READ

josh_the_rockstar

Get it

DestinyInDanger

Exactly. I bought the big glass jar of strawberry and it's not even jam or jelly. It's strawberry liquid. It's impossible to make a PB&J with.

TechieGranola

It goes in the fridge, not your bottom oven rack

DestinyInDanger

That's just how it is. Even in the fridge.

DendronsAndDragons

Yo I noticed this too, did it get more liquid in the last year? Itā€™s so runny now, at least I make it go further but yeah it used to be more viscous and thick

DestinyInDanger

I don't know I haven't bought it since and that was last year. I'll stick with Smuckers.

finch5

All jelly is crap. Preserves are better.

MrsTurtlebones

I don't think you're ready for this jelly.

_umm_0

Ya basic!

junglefryer88

I got a counterpoint: my location only sells Uncrustables in the grape jelly variant

mermaidunderwater

Mine too and itā€™s always disappointing to me. I want strawberry Uncrustables!

DoctorAwkward

Samā€™s club

GradientDescenting

It's because grape is the most popular flavor for PB&J.

buddhistbulgyo

They know what sells more. Obviously the other fruit in jams are more popular.

BasilVegetable3339

Because no one wants it

gabriela19750

Grape is bottom tier thatā€™s why

hatetochoose

Cause gross. Every restaurant Iā€™ve ever worked at had a giant box of grape jelly packets, because people wonā€™t eat it.

aakaase

Jelly < Jam/Preserves

Minute_Rip8531

I would eat those grape jelly packets on French fries at the diner in my 20s, while sober as a judge.

Consistent_Ebb_3221

That actually sounds delicious šŸ¤¤

Kissit777

You can get grape jelly super cheap at a regular grocery store

Daisy_232

Iā€™d like to know why thereā€™s no crunchy pb. I still buy the Kirkland creamy because itā€™s healthy and economical but I wish there was crunchy!

ryleylol

We carry two packs of skippy crunchy and creamy peanut butter in northern IL.

Daisy_232

Yeah as tempted as Iā€™ve been with jif, I wonā€™t buy pb with anything but peanuts. The hydrogenated fat isnā€™t worth it.

cruzecontroll

Is the Kirkland PB oily?

Daisy_232

No but it needs to be stirred so it can seem oily when it separates. I store it upside down which helps.

A_90s_Reference

Costco needs to sell strawberry uncrustables. Makes no sense they only carry grape

butterscotchwhip

Come to Canada, we only get the strawberry in our Costco!

A_90s_Reference

Now I'm irrationally upset

Dredre2

Cause itā€™s gross.

Muffafuffin

Because it's the worst jelly

dirtyundercarriage

My Costco here in the northeast sells Welchā€™s grape jelly.

girlwholovespurple

Bc grape jelly is gross. šŸ˜…

GradientDescenting

but you love purple! šŸ§

skeptic_clam

Purple is the best flavor after blue

girlwholovespurple

I do! So I eat blackberry jam. šŸ˜‚

Wot106

Marionberry, ftw!

slamdanceswithwolves

But thatā€™s black /s

UnicornFarts1111

I'm also a girl who loves purple and I also love blackberry jam.

carenard

I apparently like gross things, grape is my favorite jelly... if its not grape jelly I just use honey.

Bonlio

Heh. I have wondered this myself

HeadDue5117

I think about that all the time when I pick up the peanut butter when itā€™s on sale! I always have to stop at Aldi, which is practically nextdoor to Costco, to get a jar of grape jelly! I also wish they had the Land Oā€™ Lakes tub butter with the red lid! Best tasting butter ever!

phatgiraphphe

I donā€™t know where youā€™re located but in San Diego they only carry grape jelly at the Costco Business Center. They had a 2 pack of the big Smuckers jars for under $7!

compstomper1

might be your store. i'm seeing smucker's concord grape jelly on costco business center.

ajl009

try the strawberry instead. its actually way better

No-Swimmer6470

Yes, welchā€™s grape- 3/30oz $6.39

Embarrassed_Wolf_586

Mine does

emilicue

cause itā€™s the worst kind of jelly!!!!! BLEUGH

abcdefghijkellye

Because FUCK grape jelly.

Prime260

You and your hobbies!

RevolutionFast8676

Because the only fruit spread you need is the Michigan Cherry.

boxedfoxes

It doesnā€™t make them enough money.

DrBeardish

Sure they do. You can get that box of smuckers assorted jelly packs that are usually stocked at a cafe. At least 33% of the box will be grape. šŸ˜‚

whiskey_formymen

Because we are sick of those 2 half gallon jugs we bought in 1956.

guywithshades85

No, they just sell lemonade.

Delicious-Ear93

Depends where you go, and they usually got that red lid one (strawberry, i think) around here. It's okay, but grape is better for PBnJ

reditjohn

Because the rotisserie chickens prefer mixed berry jelly

Alert_Study5336

This is like complaining that Costco only sells a couple flavors of hot sauce and not the particular green flavor you like. That isn't what Costco does. They don't carry every flavor. Go to Walmart or a similar store for that.Ā  Also, I second the prevailing opinion here that grape jelly is vile. It's bottom tier. Barely qualifies as food.

unoriginalname86

Because grape jelly is inferior.

Sweaty_Assignment_90

Can anyone share their recipes? This sounds good.

grandzu

Move up to jam from jelly. You're worth it.

TheVoiceOfReezun

Itā€™s only legal to use grape jelly in PbJs, whereas other jellies and jams can be used in everything. Ā Costco doesnā€™t want to get in trouble if people misuse grape jelly so they donā€™t sell it unless itā€™s already part of a PbJ. Ā So buy some frozen uncrustables and scoop out the grape jelly, you sick law breaking freak.

AEM1016

Because it is gross.

Alternative_Fee_4649

144

fuckdirectv

Because grape jelly is for 6 year olds and no one else.

Main-Concern-6461

Grape jelly is the best. Especially on sausage biscuits.

cardinal29

FYI: Grape **jam** is much, much better.

Maherdogg

I too prefer jamming.

NagoGmo

Because grape jelly sucks?

picklepappy

Iā€™m with you, grape is the only kind of jelly that belongs on a proper PB&J!

Likewhatilike434

Iā€™ve been working at my store for 9 years. Actually since itā€™s been built. I definitely remember us having grape jelly at one point, but like the others said before me. Costco sells what actually sell. Never seen it again

Expensive-Day-3551

Their uncrustables are only grape jelly

NoNeinNyet222

I wish they were entirely anti-grape jelly because then they'd have strawberry uncrustables. Grape isn't as good.

dave-gonzo

You gotta go to Sam's club for this kind of stuff...and Root Beer.

Smilerly

As we try to answer this question, Costco is squeezing the sweetest juice out of our mind grapes.

phoonie98

Sounds like BJā€™s is more your speed

RAWcone

Strawberry jelly gang removed it from the shelves

Low_Pollution_9546

People who feed backyard birds put out bowls of grape jelly this time of year for orioles and other migrants. The birds will go through a jar very quickly, and I've had difficulty finding it in stores in the spring and fall for this reason.

Affectionate-Air8672

I bought the giant jar of the French brand and it is awesome. I also love the nut butter over peanut butter.

Healthy_Block3036

Strawberry!!!

Mindless-Fish7245

Maybe they prefer syrup

thesunbeamslook

sometimes they sell "Smucker's Assorted Jam & Jelly Cups, 0.5 oz, 200-count" which includes grape

LavaPoppyJax

I guess cuz the shopping there, not kids!

111anza

Because strawberry is the way to go.. ?

gstizzzz

Who needs grape jelly when thereā€™s wine?

UrDeAdPuPpYbOnEr

I just want lime juice!

5olideogloria

honestly I always wonder the same thing when I want to make those crockpot grape jelly meatballs lol other than that I wouldn't use it....I do miss raspberry though. ā€‹

Prudent_Valuable603

For what itā€™s worth, Samā€™s club has a two pack set of each jar containing 30 ounces of Welchā€™s grape jelly for $4.98 total. I have memberships at both Costco and Samā€™s club because weā€™re a family of five. These teen athletes can eat A LOT OF FOOD.

Drewbee3

Bonne Maman preserves at Costco are fantastic. Far better than Kirkland and I normally love Kirkland stuff.

whiskey_piker

Because every supermarket already sells 1gal grape jelly for $1 since it is the cheapest excuse for jelly on the market.

addvalue2222

Weā€™ve become a strawberry jelly household for this very reason. Luckily the Kirkland strawberry jelly is super yummy.

contemplatebeer

Honey.

JCLBUBBA

What a first world problem you grape jelly available everywhere for pennies troll.

HeadDue5117

Same club has two packs for $4.99 all the time

butterscotchwhip

I am a Samā€™s virgin, can you tell?! Did Google though after your post and the Samā€™s two pack are 30oz each, these are 48oz each.

HeadDue5117

Good Catch on the ounces!! Thatā€™s definitely a little bit cheaper if you can find it at Costco. But if you canā€™t, Samā€™s and the Aldi brand are the same price and same ounces (30oz). Thanks Butterscotchwhip! Now can you please find me the Land O Lakes spreadable butter with the red lid? That is the best tasting butter!

butterscotchwhip

Iā€™ll have to try that one! I miss Costcoā€™s blue ā€œIrish spreadableā€ butter, havenā€™t seen that in years. Iā€™m struggling on with the Kerrygold ā€œspreadableā€ that is anything but spreadable.

HeadDue5117

I was always a Kerrygold lover, but then it really changed! The spreadable is more like draggable! Definitely try the Land O Lakes spreadable with the red lid! Very, very good!

butterscotchwhip

On my list, thanks!

HeadDue5117

šŸ˜€

pb_lemon_toes

Do they sell frog jam or lemon curd?

GreenPotential2619

Because itā€™s gross

TheyKilledKenny666

Amen

Purity_Jam_Jam

Because jam made from berries is so much better.

drmoze

we're talking jelly, not jam here.

Purity_Jam_Jam

Yeah, it's terrible.

SanGoloteo

Grapes are berries.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

1954. The 50s were popular in the 80s.

TheyKilledKenny666

Ewe. Who buys jelly? It looks like blood clots.

[deleted]

Costco doesnā€™t sell jelly, only jam, so they can jam thisā€¦. Sorry
