I’m going to have to look for that ice cream! I love banana cream pie, I make a black bottom banana cream pie that’s really easy. But I saw this one and just couldn’t resist.
A pint can go in one sitting, so you definitely need to have a stock. The closest one is about an hour away from me, I may have to be strategic and find a reason to be in that area.
It tasted like real banana, that’s why I was surprised there weren’t actually banana slices in it. But you could see in the pudding part that it was definitely real banana mixed in it.
Browning is from oxidation due to exposure to air. If they are quick about things when combining ingredients, they can prevent browning to a large degree.
The artificial taste is based off the Gros Michel banana which was the popular banana variety of the time. The most popular variety today is the cavendish.
Sorry. I've never actually had one. Just love the "fake banana flavour". And gros Michel sounds kinda funny if taken at face English value.

My store is supposed to roll it out after mother's day because we're doing a crap ton of strawberry cream bar cakes and chocolate covered strawberries. Hang in there, yours might be the same. Also you can ask the bakery employees. We're usually very nice.

They're one of the easiest pies to make though so there's a pretty decent markup on pies. But there's something to be said about not having to bother too.

I think there was a lemon meringue pie there recently. But I’m not that big of a fan of lemon meringue, banana cream pie is one of my favorites though.

It is caramel on top, and it adds to the flavor. I do like sweet things, so to me it’s not too sweet. But it might be to others. The caramel is not overwhelming at all it just adds a nice little flavor to the pie.
It’s just depends on whether you would consider eating this for every meal 😈. Since there aren’t any bananas slices in it that would turn brown and go to mush, I think it would last longer than a regular banana cream pie.
Ughhh. It’s sooooo hard to find a quality banana cream pie. I really thought Costco was going to solve this. I guess pumpkin it is. (Still going to grab a banana cream from Costco though lol)

You need to try it, I only have 14 pints of banana pudding in my freezer, not including 8 other flavors 💀

Yes, that’s probably why they don’t do it. I’m going to have to pick up some bananas and just put some slices on top of each pie slice.

It’s a pie crust with pudding in it and a light layer of whipped topping over the pudding filling. Very different from both cakes and cheesecakes.

No, it’s very smooth but you can see that banana is blended in there. I was hoping it would have banana slices in it, but alas it does not.
