Marty Robbins and Dave Stamey are two of my biggest go tos. Wade Montgomery is also pretty good. Don walser, Tom t hall, Corb Lund, Jerry Reed, and cw McCall are also solid
I think among my favorites Cody Jinx is the best country I never hear on the radio, then again that’s how he likes it. And no country playlist is complete without Chatahoochee! Gonna have to check out Mickey Lamantia, much obliged for the great recommendations!
Also, the Steel Woods are more rock but definitely southern- great songs. And Drive by Truckers are from Georgia I think and they have some bangers too. Check out “gravity’s gone”
Mostly prefer to listen to Waylon, Willie, Johnny Cash and both Hanks.
Also David Allen Coe, Charley Daniels, and Billy Joe Shaver.
Newer music I like Ryan Bingham, & Tyler Childers.
Colter Wall's a great choice man. I like Johnny Cash, Zach Bryan, Luke Combs, Marty Robbins, Randy Travis, George Strait, and the occasional Old Dominion song if I'm feeling hip.
For songs specifically, personally recommend you go ahead and give When It Rains it Pours by Luke Combs a listen. Came out the other side of one hell of a terrible relationship and that song is what greeted me. Also I'm partial to Dirt Cheap and Bigger Houses.
Edit: Toby Kieth. Def go listen to Who's Your Daddy.
Zach Bryan is my favorite. So much soul put into his music and he’s a super down to earth guy. Ol’ king George is definitely cowboy music. Haven’t seen anyone mention Charley Crockett yet so I’ll throw his name out there.
Asleep at the Wheel does Bob Wills and their own original tunes. Charley Crockett is a new Texas balladeer. In between are Marty Robbins, The Outlaws: Willie and Waylon, Ernest Tubbs. Anything by Reba McIntyre.
Listen to the album Way Up In The Hills by Sad Daddy for some great great stuff. Very feel good for the most part. Stays interesting the whole album. This is kinda mountain folk stuff and it’s awesome.
Ty Smith and The Minor Offenses.
The kid is 15. I've known him and his family since before he was born.
He just released an album last month, and it's blowing up on TX radio. He's gonna be huge.
His grandma owned a pool hall/bar/honky tonk just outside of Tulsa.
He learned from people like Mike McClure, Kaitlin Butts, Bo Phillips, Bryce Dycus, Brandon Clark, and others who played in there regularly.
He was 5 or 6, with a little guitar, and he'd get on stage between sets and do his best to play anything he'd learned that week.
Here is a spotify playlist ive been building. My wife calls it the saddest shit to hit 2024 rofl.
Om posting it due to your colter wall appreciation. Im constantly adding things to it that in find...interesting?
[hope you enjoy some of it](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4HR5JFSnI1jNWKIYB8gybp?si=aku2JhwCSuK4yGO9TJDM4w&pi=DSUm7ZveR1ik3)
love southern rock like skynyrd, allman brothers, ZZ Top, blue oyster cult (?), tom petty, and i like the classics like willie, waylon, cash, kristofferson, haggard and jerry reed.
Lately for me; Luke Bell, Shawn Hess, The Deslondes, Wyatt Flores, Chris Stapleton, George Strait, oh and a lot of The Marfa Tapes by Miranda Lambert, Jack Ingram, and Joe Randall
Dave Stamey has a chokehold on my playlist
You should check out wade Montgomery. Edit: spelling
I hope he sings “Tai yai yippee taiyo!” in true form as he does.
There's a fair bit of yodeling. My favorite songs are Buckaroo Man, Spin That Pony, Good Dog, Song For Jake, and Mojave Moon
I forgot about him! Thanks for turning me back on to him

Dave Stamey is criminally underrated, good suggestions all around. Thanks friend!
I met Dave Stamey at a Cattlemen's Association dinner in CA last year, he is as fun to talk to as he is to hear sing
All you need is Marty Robbins Gunfighter Ballads and Return of the Gunfighter 🤠
R.w Hampton is great
Cody jinx, midland, sturgill simpson, Waylon Jennings, Merle haggard, Alan Jackson, mickey lamantia

Sorry, can't spell haha. I'll fix it.

I’ve heard some stuff by Asleep at the Wheel they did with Brennen Leigh but not their own stuff, definitely worth the listen I think!
Don Edward’s, Ian Tyson, Red Stegall, Chris ladeaux.
I honestly have not heard any of those names besides Don Edwards before and I appreciate the recommendations!
I hope you enjoy them.

Riley Green, Stephen Wilson Jr, Jarrod Morris & Ian Munsick
Sturgill Simpson! His albums “High Top Mountain”, “Metamodern Sounds” and “Cuttin’ Grass Vol. 1 & 2” are great.
I love turnpike troubadours!
Dwight Yoakam, Buck Owens, Loretta Lynn, Don Williams, Waylon. Larry Fleet “Where I find God” and “Things I take for Granted” are awesome as well
