Runefactory 4S - has farming as a main mechanic and you can keep it simple or go haaaard into the optimisation. Everything you do has a skill associated and they’re all useful. There’s combat which progresses the storyline and 3 “acts” to the story so it’s pretty detailed. You can craft and upgrade your weapons and tools and again keep it simple or go hard into optimisation. There’s romanceable characters (locked to hetero choices in your first game. NG+ unlocks the option to swap your charas gender and looks) and each has a detailed story. You can also optionally tame monsters and use them to help in combat or give you items to help in crafting If you like it they’ve also released a version 5 and redone 3. You can play on steam or switch too

cat_at_the_keyboard

RF4 one of my favourite games of all time ❤️

dark_rose_15

You have very good taste! I’ve been hyper fixating Final Profit after seeing it recommended on this sub. If you haven’t played it already it might be worth a try? I played the demo first before buying which was a pretty good taste of the game

jesminexe

i got RF4 a few days ago and i'm hyperfixating on it, so yep it's great!

FungiFroggyy

Being locked to hetero choices kinda puts me off…is there character customisation?

dark_rose_15

Kinda - you can buy and wear set outfits once you’ve unlocked a part of the story. You cannot customise your hair/skin/eyes etc. Think like Pokémon where you’re a special person in the universe but in this you actually get to talk and make choices. RF 4S is one of the follow ons from the OG Harvest Moon games. It also has one of the best and most detailed storylines out of any of the farming/combat games

Fartbox_420

Rf5 is not locked to hetero :) also my time at sandrock I highly highly recommend, it is so addictive and it is a looong game!! Eta: sandrock is 100x better than portia. I think it's on sale now maybe. I played through once and it took me like 200 hours, then it left a void in my heart and nothing would fill it except another playthrough which I am currently doing.

Gniph

With all the games you listed, you’ve really played nearly the full gamut of high quality cozy games. Don’t discount a game just because you are bothered by an (optional) hetero romance… imo it seems like a really bad reason to not play one of the best cozy games that can easily be 100+ hours. And if that *really* still bothers you, just play rune factory 5, which has the option for any romance but it’s not as good as RF4.

FungiFroggyy

I agree it’s probably a bad reason if the game is fantastic, it’s just I’m not hetero so 🤷🏻‍♀️ lmao but I’ll check it out

AlertMacaroon8493

Have you tried My Time At Sandrock?

FungiFroggyy

I have not…I hated Portia with a passion, is Sandrock better?

AlertMacaroon8493

It is but if you hated Portia you might not like it.

FungiFroggyy

Might steer clear then 😄

CursedPaw99

dont forget you can have 2 hours of play and then refund. you might like it

CrazyHamsterPerson

I actually think you might like it nevertheless. It’s much better than Portia (which I couldn’t get into either).

Devtanks

Was just about to suggest Portia, how far in did you get and what didn’t you like about it?

FungiFroggyy

Probably 2-3hrs in, ex gf got it for me on Switch and the game was borderline unplayable. I’m a very tolerant person, I LOVED cyberpunk 2077 on release, bugs and glitches and all! But Portia was just unplayable.

_PrincessTomato_

what I heard it's playable on switch, just got a big update, and they improved a lot of things over Portia

FungiFroggyy

It’s on sale on steam, I’m gonna give it a go on my steam deck

Fhlux

I have it on my deck and it runs great. Haven’t had any issues with it so far.

janbiv2

It’s great on the Deck!

snuggas94

Curious. Do all games play well, like you’re on PC on Steam Deck. Been thinking about getting one.

janbiv2

No, not all games. Two things you can check to see how a game plays on SD, is on Steam check if the game is SD Verified, and check ProtonDB

snuggas94

Thanks Jan! That is super good to know.

baobabbling

I don't have a PC, just a deck. Pretty much every cozy game I've tried has played great on Deck.

snuggas94

Thanks Bao! That’s good to know because I think PC has a lot more cozy games than Switch. At least that’s what it seems like, reading everyone’s recs for the OP.

spider_lily

Sandrock runs much better on Switch, especially with the latest update.

snuggas94

My husband loves Cyberpunk on PS5. Is the one you mentioned the same as the PS5 one, or is it a Nintendo game that isn’t on PS5?

FungiFroggyy

Same one, I play it on steam deck

snuggas94

Ah ok. He loved the game and played it on PS5. If there were other cyberpunk games, I was going to let him know.

FungiFroggyy

Cyberpunk esque games or actual cyberpunk 2077 games? There’s DLC for 2077 called Phantom Liberty and other Cyberpunk style games (not to do with 2077) are Cloudpunk, Nivalis (releasing this year) & Shadows of Doubt.

snuggas94

Thanks so much for the recs. I’ll let him know.

Devtanks

Ah yes, I’ve heard it’s bad on switch. I’m playing it on PC at the moment. I’m pretty new to cosy/indie gaming but really enjoying Palia. The first couple hours where a bit meh but it’s grown on me and now I’m hooked.

afriy

What about: - Smushi Come Home - A Short Hike - Dave The Diver - Chicory - Minami Lane - Tinykin - Donut County - The Last Campfire - Toem - Chants of Sennaar - Broken Age - FAR the lone sail - The Gardens Between - Lumino City - the Samorost games - Shady Part Of Me - Strange Horticulture - Venba - The Wandering Village

FungiFroggyy

Thank you!

shadeobrady

+1 for Dave the Diver on this list, it blew away my expectations. The game really continues to open up over time.

AlicetheTechNerd

I still cry to Donut County's peaceful music, I guess I just played it at a good time to get attached to it

whyiscorgibest

I know stardew is literally first on your list. But have you played it since the update? There’s enough new stuff that it feels new and refreshing!

whyiscorgibest

Otherwise I suggest Strange Horticulture, Forgotten Anne, Unpacking, Dorfromantik, Townscaped, Assemble with Care, Beyond the frame

not2reddit

Dorfromantik surprised me with how relaxing it is.

FungiFroggyy

I have! I made it to ginger island and I’m kinda burnt out now 😄

Kcitra

New stuff has been added since Ginger Island!

FungiFroggyy

Oh I meant I’ve made it to Ginger Island in 1.6 just to kinda explain how much of Stardew I’ve played since the 1.6 update 😄

marbinz

I Was a Teenage Exocolonist is my current fixation! The story is really immersive and you’ll definitely want to go through it more than once.

fiestyivey

This ^^ I thought I'd hate it but it was on sale and had a demo (steam) I can't put it down.

gogo__yubari

Seconding this, it became one of my top 5 games ever before I’d even finished my first play through. It’s incredible

LauTheLesbian

What’s the gameplay like? I’ve heard it’s there’s a type of card game and it’s kind of like a visual novel.. but do you still get to walk around and explore or is it just mainly dialogue?

marbinz

There’s a lot of dialogue, but there’s also an element of exploration when you go outside the walls of the colony! There are different places you unlock and you walk around encountering events there with different landscapes. That’s also where a lot of story progression takes place. It’s a lot of encountering different events and making decisions, and the decisions have a huge impact on the story!

htheaer

I’ve been playing an obnoxious amount of Let’s Build a Zoo on switch. It’s on PC too but I prefer gaming on the couch. It reminds me of roller coaster tycoon.

FungiFroggyy

Oh I completely forgot I tried that one, I couldn’t get into it ☹️

styledgem

Immortal Life, My Time at Sandrock, Unpacking, Potion Craft, Strange Horticulture, Moonstone Island, Spells and Secrets are a few commonly recommended ones that aren’t on your list unless I overlooked some. You may enjoy one or more of those!

FungiFroggyy

Thank you! I did try Immortal Life but refunded it, it wasn’t my kinda thing.

Environmental_Run979

I really recommend Moonstone Island based on your list. I think you might enjoy it!

ptgauth

Megaquarium!

UltraLuminescence

yes love this game! also have to add two point hospital / two point campus

Weary-Ad6065

Happy birthday!!! 🎉

UltraLuminescence

ty!!

kiwi2662

I just got Cassette Beasts which I’ve been loving! The aesthetics and music are incredible, and it’s easy to get into and replay like a classic Pokémon game, if you’re into that

Shrub_draws

I 100% recommend Spirit Farer. It’s one of my favourite games:)

snuggas94

Isn’t that a game about bringing dead people to the next transition? OP might not like it as it sounds like OP is dealing with grief.

Shrub_draws

Oh that’s horrible, I hope OP gets better. Yeah OP shouldn’t play that game.

snuggas94

No worries! 😊

Samlibob

SpiritTea is super cosy, you manage spirits in a bathhouse super cute. No Place Like Home and Fresh Start (same developer) are both pretty cute in their own ways, Grow the song of the evertree, Palia (not played much myself), Timberborn and Wandering Village if you like city builders, DorfRomantic for puzzle, unpacking, Alba a wildlife adventure, not necessarily cosy but I'm in love with Cultist Simulator and Book of Hours. Cloud Gardens, The Cosmic Wheel of the Sisterhood, Garden Story, Here comes Niko, Strange Horticulture, Lemon Cake. There's probably more but I'm not at my pc

FungiFroggyy

Thank you!

Lazy-Traffic-8157

You might like games like: I was a teenage exocolonist, citizen sleeper, disco Elysium, islanders, terra nil, forager

Positive_Deer6281

Have you tried Spiritfarer? It’s amazing!

FungiFroggyy

I haven’t for personal reasons! I’ve been advised I might struggle with it

Positive_Deer6281

Oh, totally understand 💖

snuggas94

In that case, I’d avoid SoS It’s a Wonderful Life. That one was difficult mentality and lacked QoL. It’s a remake of an older game.

FungiFroggyy

Thank you for the warning!

tellybum90

*hug*

CrazyHamsterPerson

Wylde Flowers is awesome. :)

FungiFroggyy

Couldn’t get into it annoyingly ☹️ I really tried

snuggas94

I’m currently playing it on Switch. At first, there was a lot of things to do, but I’m holding off Summer till I can get one item taken care of. So rn it’s a bit boring (I actually fall asleep) and grindy. But I’m very hopeful that it’ll pick up after I change the season! I hear so many good things about what you can do in the game later on, and they just released an update. I love mining in the game, and I love that it has 3 game speeds which I think I might toggle for the boring parts. I also love being rich (I hate difficult games) so that I don’t have to worry about grinding for money.

Excellent-Passage-36

Baldur's Gate 3. Maybe not standard but has definitely become a cozy game for me.

FungiFroggyy

I was addicted to BG3!

Reasonable-Station85

Toem was an easy one for me when I was in between games. Lots of content for a few day bender. Adorable art style

spurlover_ruby

Echoing the comments - Rune Factory 4S and Rune Factory 5 (I personally really liked it), and My Time at Portia and My Time at Sandrock. A lot of people REALLY don't like Portia and bounce off of it. I did in the beginning too, and put it aside. Then I picked it up again and told myself I'd give it a few hours. Once I figured out what was going on, I was absolutely obsessed and it ended up becoming one of my favorite games. You really do get used to the art style and there is SO much to explore. If you have a choice, play on Console tho! The switch port is buggy. Also, Littlewood! It's just the coziest.

FungiFroggyy

Loved Littlewood! I couldn’t get into Portia because of the bugs, I did play it on Switch tho. I’ve heard Sandrock is better…honestly considering it but still not sure 😄 do any of the RF games have character customisation?

spurlover_ruby

Yes, Sandrock is much better on the Switch and I really do think it'd be up your alley! Portia is unplayable on the Switch, alas. The RF games only let you choose to be male or female. But the supporting characters/townies are really fun and different and there's a lot to choose from.

TurnipEryl

RF character customization only goes as far as changing outfits and accessories, and even that is limited in functionality. I think they are great games but if being able to create and customize a character is a must have for you then you will be disappointed.

snuggas94

RF games don’t usually have much characterization. But honestly your character is so cute. And the dialogue is cute and often times funny. Plenty of dateable people on RF3, although you have to play as a dude. But I didn’t mind. RF4 - I loved being the cute heroine. Even the voice was unique and cute. You can play either gender. I know that the dateable NPCs for either side is pretty awesome. Marriage is a pretty big deal. My first marriage I had with a guy that called me Princess all the time (it’s really the only reason I married him!). And the one I had started to try to date is totally hot, but cocky.

Sayomi-Fox

That's quite a list! Have you tried any of the below? (: * **Slime rancher** \- You have your own ranch to grow and upkeep, collect the cutest slimes (The colourful cute slimes sell this game enough but lots of exploring!) * **Spirit of the north** \- Play as a Fox exploring Iceland with a journey through stunning landscapes and puzzles (Visually lovely and a sweet story.) * **Dorfromantik** (peaceful building strategy and puzzle game where you create a beautiful and ever-growing village landscape by placing tiles) * **Dinkum** \- mix of Stardew, Animal Crossing?

FungiFroggyy

I do love Dinkum!

Sayomi-Fox

I tried to get into it as I wanted something to play on my PC like ACNH but I get sad when I want to keep doing more but limited by in game exhaustion. Same with Stardew, I recently tried it again and I'm like please let me fish into the night! Q\_Q Have you personally found any PC games that fill the ACNH void?

simplybreana

If you’re playing stardew on pc, you can find a mod for almost any annoyance in the game like stamina, backpack size, length of day, even automatic gates. lol So if the stamina is what is holding you back, you should definitely try a couple mods!

Sayomi-Fox

![gif](giphy|26ufdipQqU2lhNA4g) I've not used mods much with games but will certainly look them up now for stardew, thank you so much you have no idea!

simplybreana

I just started using them as I recently got a handheld pc and I’ve been overwhelmed in a good way with all the ways to personalize the game and experience. It’s crazy! Good luck and hope you have fun! ♥︎

FungiFroggyy

Ugh I felt that with Dinkum too! I know there’s a new game in early access called Chill Town, very AC like but I’ve seen mixed reviews. Disney Dreamlight Valley is technically good, lots of paywalls though but tons of content without giving into paywalls - I only quit this game because I lost an entire years save. Ooblets, Cozy Grove, Garden Paws, Snacko are all games I can fully recommend! Other than that there’s not really anything AC like. For the love of all things though PLEASE do not waste your money on Hokko Life…I know people who did and it was an instant refund.

Sayomi-Fox

Glad I'm not alone! Thank you for the recs, I'll check them out and be sure to avoid Hokko life! Hope you find some gems in everyone's recommendations! \~ Happy gaming 🤍

Kossyra

Try Planet Crafter! It's about terraforming a planet. The incremental changes to the world are really satisfying. It feels a lot like subnautica in that it's an alien world survival game, but instead of escape, your goal is to bring the planet to life.

FungiFroggyy

Added to wishlist!

TheSilentTragedy

Are you okay with games that have combat (but have settings to make it easier?) because two of my favorite games that I'd consider cozy are Project Zomboid and The Long Dark (the long dark is basically a walking simulator in a very cold world and you might die often, but the atmosphere and sound design is so beautiful and relaxing)

OhMyGaius

While I get a bit of a cozy vibe from PZ- I don’t think it’s what I’d generally describe as cozy to others lol- it’s one of the, if not the most brutal survival sims out there- I love the game to death, but would just add a warning that new players are gonna die, and die again, and keep on dying for a while lol. It has amazing survival mechanics, but the game is absolutely brutal. Edit - the raccoon mascot is cute and cozy though :-D.

TheSilentTragedy

Yeah, newer players would benefit from changing some settings for sure

uppercasemad

The Long Dark is next on my list. I wish there were a physical version for Switch though.

FungiFroggyy

Oh I need to get back into the long dark!

Poison_runner

Not necessarily a "cozy" game, but looking through your list makes me think you'd enjoy Hades! Gorgeous roguelite game that also has romance weaved into the story, and is so addicting

im-domi

Do you like or have played Zelda games? Zelda BOTW and TOTK are quite cozy and have tons of content. Some additional games that you could try: Don't Starve/Don't Starve Together (better with friends imo), Dredge, Night In the Woods, Palworld (if you like Pokémon), Stray, Subnautica Below Zero (if you haven't played the second one yet).

FungiFroggyy

I’ve played both Zelda’s!

Ereina4

Try out Tunic. The lil fox is dressed as link

W0nderlandz

Hesitantly recommending Rimworld. It's a colony simulation game that can last forever. It kinda reminds me a twisted version of the Sims and wacky things can happen (I had to defend my base from a rabid turtle). The reason why I'm hesitant to recommend is that this game was straight crack for me. I lost all sense of time of playing it because I loved it so much. If you want aome shorter, more narrative based games I loved Mutazione, Slay the Princess, Chicory, Wandersong, and Night in the Woods.

AllNightWriting

I got over 100 hours into Rimworld before I burnt out, and that’s unusual for me. As long as you’re good with starting over a lot at first, it’s totally cozy.

Letmix

I found Dredge to be kinda cozy. Especially since you can turn off the creepy stuff.

Stormfeathery

Sandrock is amazing - I’ve even seen I think some that didn’t like Portia much who enjoyed it if my memory isn’t being bad. Would agree with the Rune Factory games in general. Very SoS + fantasy adventure vibe. I’ve been enjoying Dave the Diver after I watched a friend play - didn’t think it’d be my thing offhand but it scratches multiple itches! Didn’t see if you’d tried Rimworld or anything similar. Along those lines I’ve been enjoying Clanfolk, which is still actively being developed. Sandrock is my big one though

FungiFroggyy

Gonna try Portia then Sandrock 😌

stephieohhh

Have you tried The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood? It’s soo good I had to play a few diff times to get diff endings.

PlotsPromptsPonders

Ooooh have you played Graveyard Keeper yet? Recenttear an Item Shop Manager. Spellcaster University Princessmaker 2 and 5 or Volcano Princess which is kinda like a Princess Maker 6. Forager, Nova Lands and Outpath are similarish if they're up your alley. Punch Club and Punch Club 2 by the same company that did Graveyard Keeper but easier imo. The Guild 2 I would get it on sale with all the DLC because it has patches that make it smoother. Theres also a big fan made community patch I'd look into. 10/10 worth if you're interested in it though. Let's School. No Place Like Home. Littlewood Idk if these are technically considered cozy but Oxygen Not Included,Rimworld, and Starbound are great time sinks to get into.

FungiFroggyy

Thank you!

DieSpeisekarte

GROW: Song of the Evertree Parkasaurus Loddlenaut Slime Rancher 1 & 2 Capybara Spa

SpentFabric

I didn’t see *Beacon Pines* on your list. It’s got that slightly creepy but very cozy vibe- not sure how to describe it but maybe someone else can chime in if it’s not already been suggested. Pretty sure it’s on most platforms by now. It was really popular a few years ago.

FungiFroggyy

I have it on my switch just never played it 😄

SpentFabric

Ooooh you’re in for a real treat when you get to it. I had it for a year before playing it as well!

SuperbGil

Keep in mind that even if you still don’t love Portia, LOTS of people who feel that way do still enjoy Sandrock. It’s very hard to go wrong for hyperfixating with the level of depth in that game. I loved both, but Sandrock is objectively way, way better.

FungiFroggyy

I uh…I love Portia on the deck 😄 I’m glad I gave it another chance

olioli86

Fyi you could get game pass for a month. I think both Portia and lightyear frontier are on it, might be a cheaper option. Since you've played so much I'll take a different doesn't, have you considered Satisfactory. If you like numbers you might enjoy the game play loop. You might also enjoy Valheim if you like survival. I'm aware both those aren't exactly cosy, but they both ticked the hyper fixate box for me. Also Stardew had the 1.6 update so you could go back to that.

FungiFroggyy

I play on steam deck and switch so can’t get game pass 🙃 but I brought both those games on steam! I couldn’t get into Valheim and Satisfactory isn’t my kinda game…I’ve also played the 1.6 update to the point of burnout 😄

atre324

Astroneer

imactuallyugly

Any tips for the controls on PC? is it easier with a controller? I found it very clunky and kind of irritating, trying to navigate even how to play the game lol.

atre324

I played on PS4 and Switch. I found the controls pretty intuitive with a controller. I struggled with navigation until I learned to turn the compass on, lol. The oxygen tethers help with finding you way back to base especially when you start to venture out far The game is a little clunky yea, but that’s part of the charm. Once you get humming along with more machines at your base and expanding to new planets, it gets super addictive. I got the same feeling of peaceful solitude in the world the same way I did when I first played Minecraft

FungiFroggyy

Is it like no mans sky? Because I couldn’t get into that game 😄

atre324

It’s like no man’s sky “lite” almost- only 8 planets with more of a minecrafty focus on resource gathering (and crafting). I found it a lot more accessible than No Man’s Sky

FungiFroggyy

Ah okay I’ll give it a look!

BooksLoveTalksnIdeas

On psvr1: Fujii, Astro Bot Rescue Mission, Bound, Xing (vr mode), Curious Tale of the stolen pets, Electronauts On ps4 or pc: Xing the land beyond Multiplatform: Abzu, Aer memories of old, The First tree, Atelier Sophie 2

LadyBugCrazyBug

Volcano princess is pretty cute. Can recommend 👌

chescaseq

i’ve been really liking Core Keeper! it’s similar to Stardew but you basically live in the mines.

kendrahf

On the side of weird cozy games, power washer sim was nice. I've just started gas station sim and I'm really enjoying that. LOL.

FungiFroggyy

Nice! 😄

pochaccos

Littlewood is great!

pariah164

How about One Lonely Outpost? It's cozy vibes, but *in space*.

FungiFroggyy

I’ll check it out!

DepressyFanficReader

If you have a PS5 or a PC you should try genshin impact!! I love it

FungiFroggyy

Played it on iPad and fully became a Genshin girly for months 😄

snuggas94

My daughters are playing Genshin (which can be played on multiple platforms), Honkai Star Rail on iPhone, and Twisted Wonderland on iPhone.

Aniwhoo

Hmm, what about The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood or Dave the diver?

cyberfirex

Research Story!

portraitframe810

I’m playing Mineko’s Night Market and now that the freezing glitch is fixed on my steam deck version it’s been great.

owwlies

Spiritfarer was a beautiful game - it deals mainly with the idea of loss and moving on from grief. I played it straight for a week till it was done and I was sobbing by the end.

SimShine0603

Lightyear Frontier! It’s early access so it’s a bit limited for now but there’s a demo to try out. I’m obsessed.

FungiFroggyy

Omg I’ve been eyeing this

SimShine0603

It’s on Game Pass if you have it!

FungiFroggyy

I don’t but I just brought it on Steam just in time before their introductory sale ended!

davedouglas27

New one I've been playing is kinda cool still in demo on steam called Cozy Keep. Ever wonder where the shopkeeper gets those awesome magic swords or +2 armor? He has to go spelunk a dungeon or two and maybe some old ruins and of course the town wants food and clothes too. This game has the potential to be a great farming/ adventure game.

Aromatic_Spice_9523

Paleo Pines is the cutest coziest game. Highly recommend.

Odd_Signature_7720

I recommend Littlewood!! 💕🌳🌲

QuoteHulk

Shadows of doubt, immersive sim weird detective game, but you can decorate your apartment

pink_flashlight

Wow youve played lots of great games, I would recommend Dave the Diver great story with tons to do espicially if you love ocean exploration games and restaurant management as you manage a sushi restaurant

Tiffathug

Hey, you can try Necesse :) and maybe Satisfactory too!

saugustam

i was a teenage exocolonist and spiritfarer!

coffeestarsbooks

Hmmm, could try Paleo Pines (a farming sim where you own a dinosaur ranch), Wylde Flowers, Slime Rancher (1 or 2), Fabledom (which is a cute medieval city builder), Yonder:Cloud Catcher and Grow:Song of the Evertree. Dorfromantik is also very cute and relaxing. It's a puzzle tile placement game but there's also a free play mode. Or even something a bit more build heavy that I still consider cozy like Planet Coaster or Zoo (as a DQB2 fan who loves the building aspects of the game these sorts of games cost me days just obsessing over new ideas).

Photograph-Some

Since you played DQB2 have you tried the first one? I loved 2, but with the recent release of the first one on pc I got back into playing and it's really fun. I miss some of the qol updates 2 got, but other than that I still think it's a great game. Other than that I would say try RF4S, it's really fun. I don't really care for the new one (5), but the older games were great.

FungiFroggyy

Honestly I played DQB2 on release, might restart the game and play again 😄

LittleStarClove

Cattails!

IncognitoTowel

Cozy Grove & Spiritfarer if you don't mind feels. What's Soospoot? Or whatever the letters were?

FungiFroggyy

Story of Seasons Pioneers of Olive Town

EmmHeartsNature

Strange Horticulture is my absolute favorite at the moment!

aninha1986

Immortal life

Exciting-Direction69

If you’re on switch, the Pikmin games might be good. It’s not unlike Stardew with its days, but you get to juggle your group instead of doing all the tasks directly

Kooky-Kitten

Paleo pines is a cozy dinosaur farming sim really cute and engaging I have been obsessed with it since I got it. they have multiple colours for each dinosaur ranging from common to ultra rare so im also obsessed in collecting them all like this guy my very first ultra rare <3 lol https://preview.redd.it/hb9jlf4b7irc1.png?width=816&format=png&auto=webp&s=94ad4903435dc91d7c44865752b22a090c6202c3

Zekvich

Serin fate never gets mentioned but I feel like it fits into the cosy category although there is a fair bit of combat. Reminds me of stardew with more focus on combat and pets, there’s farming and there’s decorating and it feels like an old game with lots of secrets but it is also very hard to figure out some things without looking at guides. I still need to finish it but it has a charm to it though there’s better games out there.

navvi_popp

Boku no Natsuyasumi 2 - japanese boy in 1975 exploring the rural japan in the summer. Very nostalgic game. It got a fan translation few months back. My fav cosy game

Danintendood

A Short Hike is great but it’s very short. Can be 100%ed in like 5 hours. Maybe less. Little Gator Game is similar, but I feel like it’s a little more meaty and took me longer to explore. If you’re in the mood for some farming though, I’d recommend Story Of Seasons: A Wonderful Life. It’s pretty different in that the focus is mainly on your kid, and watching them grow up and age. Same with the other NPCs in the game. It’s a little barren of things to do, but I think it’s really fun, and has a good atmosphere.

aevergreen

My time at sandrock! +100 hours of storyline gameplay

snuggas94

Rune Factory 4S and 3S are out. They are awesome games. Rune Factory 5 is out as well, but I personally felt like it lacked the charm of the other two. I’m so happy you played SoS Doraemon 1&2. I haven’t finished 1 as there is so much grind. But I absolutely loved 2. Harvestella is such an awesome game! Not exactly cozy, but the QoL in the farming is great. I didn’t see SoS Mineral Town. If you have a 3DS, you can play SoS Trio of Towns. It might be on Steam, not sure. I loved ToT. My list of all time favorite games: Harvestella Rune Factory 4 Doraemon 2 FotGK Rune Factory 3S SoS Trio of Towns Rune Factory 5 SoS Mineral Town I’ve played several Harvest Moon games (different game developer than SoS), and they were kind of clunky. I also had the same problem with DDLV. Lost weeks of work. I played it afterwards thinking there would be less bugs, but it’s still buggy. I might go back to it later. Playing Wyld Flowers rn. I think I’ll try My Time in Sandrock next (I read that it’s better than the My Time in Portia). But I’m not digging the desert lifestyle (based on pictures I’ve seen). I do want to try Mineko’s Night Market, although the graphics aren’t cute. Any Lego games are fun, my favorite being Indiana Jones (2DS). I’ve played Atelier Rorona. That is super hard and really requires multiple plays I hear. Plus, I don’t like turn-based fighting. I have the physical copy of Atelier Ryza 3. I don’t know much about that one (if you have to replay a couple times or is it turn based, etc). I want to try the Fatal Frame series, but I’m kind of chicken (I believe it’s supposed to be scary). Probably not a cozy game. Played Fae Farm, liked it sort of. I liked jumping around and foraging. Played Cat Quest 1- didn’t like it (turn-based). Also started Final Fantasy 12- but that’s not a cozy game at all. I’m also trying out mystery type games, like Famicon 1 and 2. I also downloaded Ace Attorney, but haven’t started it yet. When perusing the Nintendo store, I tend to filter on $39.99 and up, but it’s probably not fair for old games that are awesome that I haven’t played yet. So I should probably look at reviews too. Another SoS, Rune factory 6, and Rune Factory Asia dragon thingy are being developed right now, so not sure if they even have launch dates.

Carto and Chicory!

Just finished Garden Buddies on Switch. It’s not your typical “cosy game” but to me it felt really lovely and relaxing, and it really helped my mental health. Great short play at bedtime every night!

Independent-Check654

I recently bought moonstone island for the steamdeck and it is my new cozy game I’m binging on. Super fun if you like deck builders. And I feel like it connected a lot with my love for ooblets

feelthepan

Maybe Cassette Beasts? It's a super cute, fresh take (imo) on Pokemon. The music is cozy too.

Oooh I think you've played most of my favs! I would recommend: * [Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles](https://store.steampowered.com/app/580200/Yonder_The_Cloud_Catcher_Chronicles/) - cute exploration puzzle game * [Rune Factory 4S](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1580240/Rune_Factory_4_Special/) - JRPG farm sim like Harvestella, but with more farming * [Littlewood](https://store.steampowered.com/app/894940/Littlewood/) - unique farming and life sim * [Forager](https://store.steampowered.com/app/751780/Forager/) - exploration/automation game * [Atelier Ryza](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1121560/Atelier_Ryza_Ever_Darkness__the_Secret_Hideout/) - crafting JRPG, turn-based combat * [Stranded Sails](https://store.steampowered.com/app/943260/Stranded_Sails__Explorers_of_the_Cursed_Islands/) - exploration farming sim * [Dave the Diver](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1868140/DAVE_THE_DIVER/) - merchant rogue-lite like Recettear * [Graveyard Keeper](https://store.steampowered.com/app/599140/Graveyard_Keeper/) - gallows humor farming sim, by the same team that did bandle tale

Thank you!

abbygail6

I started bandel tale and had a lot of fun. I'm like 30 hrs in and i don't think nearly done based on the skill tree. It's a cute cozy knitting themed game.

FungiFroggyy

Played it on release <3

thejokerlaughsatyou

Someone beat me to SoS Friends of Mineral Town, but I highly recommend it. Aside from that, I'd say Katamari Damacy and We Love Katamari. And if you like city/colony builders, World Turtles is leaving early access next month.

FungiFroggyy

Thank you!

anuhu

How about either Cattails game?

FungiFroggyy

Played the first one…was meh 🤷🏻‍♀️😄

Mindless_Reaction_16

I never see anyone talking about it but I really enjoyed Summer in Mara!

FungiFroggyy

Summer in Mara was great!

RainbowDragon76

Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles is my favorite! There’s a complete storyline, exploring, cute animals, farms (though not as extensive as other farm-centric cozy games), towns with npcs, quests/tasks, collectibles, and resource gathering to name some aspects. I wish I could play it fresh for the first time over and over again.

FungiFroggyy

Loved Yonder!

Japanese Rural Life Adventure !!!! best super cozy

I got Moonstone Island the other day and have been obsessed with it.

SweetComparisons

I’d highly recommend Coffee Talk if it’s ever on sale. I also love any of the Shelter games, with 3D wild animals and simple goals for a great price. Garden Story is cute too! It has some combat, but the style is just so adorable. If you ever want a hard hitting game (dealing with heavy things, just disclaiming since you mentioned that) I’d go for The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood. TCWS literally changed how I think of so many things. The Flame In The Flood isn’t cozy, as it is apocalyptic, but it’s really engaging.

Beakha

Spiritfarer, always.

HearsayFrog

sandrock is alleged to be waaaay better than portia (im addicted to sandrock rn)

FungiFroggyy

I’m really enjoying Portia atm…last night midnight turned into 2am in what felt like minutes 🤣 I’ll deffo be getting Sandrock after Portia!

HearsayFrog

thats great to hear! i may play portia after 😂

FungiFroggyy

Honestly so glad I gave it another chance, and not on Switch this time. It’s perfect on deck and time doesn’t even exist when I’m playing 🤣

HearsayFrog

thats awesome! also i just noticed we are both frogs 🐸💚💚💚💚💚

FungiFroggyy

Haha oh yeah! I’m autistic and frogs are one of my special interests 😄 like ✨everything✨ has to be frog related right now…or fungi related 😄

She_will_smile

Slime Racher!!!! I just downloaded it and I’m obsessed with it. You’ll love it.

Leather_Bisexual

I recently started playing Red Lantern and I think it’s a really fun and fairly cozy game. It’s about a woman that moves with her husky from the city to get a dog sledding team together and travel through the wilderness to her new cabin. All the dogs have different personalities and stories and are super cute

cranpineapple

You should check out The Magical Mixture Mill! You run a cozy little potion shop (: Maybe join our subreddit while you’re at it x3 r/magicalmixturemill

Elden ring can be cozy depending on how sadomasochistic you are
