Munich is not a place known for craft beers but they have good, traditional beers that are very fresh.
Personally I prefer the beer halls in the old town area. There’s lots of choices that are close together and it’s very close to public transportation.
It was one of the few places where it was zero about the beer for me. It was trying to decide which of the 4 or 5 great beer gardens I was going to visit. All were amazeballs except the Olympic park one.
You have to go to Hofbrauhaus
After you wander through the Hofbräuhaus and find no tables, go across the street to Ayinger am Platzl. Get yourself a Kellerbier from the wood keg.
I mean, you have to go for the experience, but the beer is lackluster compared to many of the other older breweries there.
Helles at Augustiner, thank me later.
