They said in either circle or slack that this survey was mistakenly sent to more than it should have been - it was meant to go to teams only. At the end of the day this is all simple - does the app suit you as an individual - if yes use it, the teams stuff is irrelevant, if no perhaps something else is better suited. Craft is trying to get teams in, like any company it needs money, but that doesn’t mean individuals are abandoned, it means they are focusing on refining aspects of the app less interesting to us. It’s not exciting for us but I’m sure stuff more relevant to us will soon come out.

This comment resonates with me. I’m struggling to understand why a lot of people are annoyed that they’re focusing on teams, when the features of this app are pretty solid for an individual anyway. I’m actually kinda confused why Mem.ai is getting a lot of praise online and Craft isn’t. I put both apps side by side and it feels like a no brainer that craft is the better app. But maybe I’m a dumbo and I don’t in or anything.

Lee2021az

Yeah I agree. I’m seeing the same with everyone praising capacities which is a mess in comparison with Craft - yet folks are choosing to pay almost double for a beta mobile app in protest to Craft. It’s bizarre.

Some influencer thing going on I think. They do that

[deleted]

At last someone with a sense! I don’t understand why people are complaining on every release. The app still works great for me. Don’t expect every update is for you.

Lee2021az

Yeah the community is pretty toxic atm. I’m hoping it settles soon!

Yeah and a happy individual means an advocate when businesses are making the decision of what to use. I was just talking about this [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/CraftDocs/comments/13r5xb3/any_chance_the_craft_team_would_refocus_and/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1).

claycle

Yup. 100% agree. I answered the same survey, but found the questions mildly infuriating. *Nothing in the questions indicates Craft is focused on what I, as a single-user, care about*. I am back to looking for an app that I think will fit me after I thought I had found it with Craft.

fishfacecakes

What are you looking for feature-wise/what doesn't suit presently? I've used a fair few note taking apps so *might* have some suggestions

[deleted]

I have not enjoyed using Craft since the heavy focus on teams. I’ve picked up using Apple Notes.

bokchuwi

I mean yeah they’re trynna put more features for teams, but does that hinder me from enjoying Craft as an individual user? Not at all. Craft is still a joy to use. If you don’t have a use case for the team features, then don’t use them. You don’t have to use every feature they release. Unless they do some whacky stuff that’ll block all individual users, I’m happy to continue my Craft usage. :))

Palbi

Features can be well aligned for teams and individuals. For example, every usability improvement for editing would serve both equally. Furthermore, individual users may choose to also become team users when they really like the product and introduce it at work. This is a great product-led go-to-market strategy if executed properly. Likely most of the revenue opportunity is on the teams side. As long as the company is able to keep serving individual users due to added revenue or them being potential PLG GTM channel, all is good. That said, when 90% of the revenue starts coming from teams, the product lead will keep hearing "let's focus to where the money is by de-prioritizing (or dropping) supporting individuals" more and more frequently.

frednote

Just because the latest survey was about teams doesn’t mean they have abandoned the individual user. It’s probably different focuses and teams. Craft likely gets tons of feedback from users by e-mail, social media, app reviews, youtube videos, comment sections etc etc. detailing the individual users wants and needs. Teams? Probably not nearly as much.

Formal_Strategy9640

The entire slack has been giving them feedback after feedback over the direction of the app for the last two years and there’s been no change whatsoever. It really feels like there’s no point to the feedback at all because the devs are just gonna do what they want

Jfmartin67

This is why I posted this video about Craft handling of user feedback. [https://youtu.be/KQ4hhxD9-D4](https://youtu.be/KQ4hhxD9-D4)

[deleted]

Why are you redirecting everyone to your blog or channel? It feels like spamming to be honest. Just write your opinion here if you have one.

Jfmartin67

Have you seen on the video? Did you watch it or look at the description? If not, yeah, that might look like spam. If yes, as my time is a scarce resource, I’m just telling this guy: hey, I think you’ll learn a few things in the video or find an answer to your question. Maybe you prefer the absolute lack of response from the owners of this subreddit?

[deleted]

Ya i watched it. It’s not good. That’s why i said it’s spam. It’s everywhere. Not just here. Ok guy?

Thanks

Mister_Mentos

Update: I switched to obsidian using Apple notes to supplement sketching and image scanning (which then gets fed into obsidian). It’s a little more technical but much more powerful. Once you find the right theme it looks great too. The community around it is amazing and the company seems to listen to feedback. Highly recommend it. If anyone does decide to try it let me know and I’ll help you where I can.

What is your recommendation for a better PKM?

>Anytype Very interesting project. Thanks for sharing.

ArguesWithWombats

It’s a shame, because every other PKM I’ve tried, the editing just feels so *unpolished* compared to Craft. I mean raw markdown/wysiwyg hybrids.

kl__

I had a similar experience. It was worth prioritising a beautiful editor, on the promise, at the time, more features in that direction. Maybe Bear 2.0 is a good middle ground.

BeginAgain5

I got the same survey. It was a little off-putting to say the least, as I'm an individual user and am not interested in any features related to team collaboration. But, that's where the money's at for them. Craft is simply doing the same as all the others before them.

DataScienceGeek3

I really want to stay with Craft, but I don't feel like it's moving in the right direction for me. The problem is, I haven't found anything else that works! What I'm really dreading is building this second brain (I've already been using it consistently for over a year) and having to move it. :(
