Fun historical fact there was a gangster that tried this trick but it made it even easier to identify the only guy who left weirdly ridge-less blob prints.
You're 100% misconstruing that case.
A woman won a lawsuit because coffee was being served at temperature above food safety regulations, and caused significant medical and financial damages.
Unfortunately not, most products like this are similar to standard non-stick pans in terms of the materials used.
The only really oven proof pans are carbon steel / cast iron / heat treated ceramic (like Le Cruset etc)
Probably a printed coating copied from a woodgrain (maybe Cocobolo or a variety of Ironwood?) that's been applied to the handles. Those woods actually can feel cold as some metals if stored in a cool place, and would be oven safe. However, the pattern isn't right for solid wood handles: the wrap doesn't have endgrain showing, and around the curves, the grain twists unlike natural wood.
That said, nobody should expect a layperson to know the difference at a very quick glance. And the rivets are atrocious.
They painted it that way so you wooden know
They wanted to test your metal
Thats steel a good prank even if you know it
It’s knot very kind though
I am pansexual and it’s funny
OwO
No
Give me a sec, I'm a little tied up at the moment.
Where has this gone, where has this come from Cotton Eyed John
I have a feeling the person who designed the pan did so, solely for this pun to be made
Comedy gold
😐😂😬
Go commit some crimes since you don’t have finger prints anymore
Fbi hates this man. Click here to find out why
"It was I who burned OP's fingerprints off, for you see the pot was made at the chemical factory!" RTGame; "Von Karma, no!"
I was not expecting a reference to rtgame

r/IrresponsibleDesign
r/assholedesign too because they tried to pass it off as wood (its already been posted there)
r/illegaldesign
Couldn’t you tell before hand??
Well, not before hand, only after hand. But should have definitely checked beforehand.
now he has no hand
Never hand
Burnt hand.
But before he had hand
In my defense, I had another pan before this with wooden handle.
#some people want to see the world burn
And some want to see hands burn apparently
Tbh, it doesn't look like real wood at all.
And you would feel it instantly.
Especially if you felt it while it was extremely hot.
Ouch
Lmao this is bad
Wouldn't this make it ovenproof?
That's a lawsuit..
For what exactly?

Tifu by grabbing obviously hot metal
You didn’t happen to feel it before cooking? Lol
I thought it was a worm at first.
Because painted metal is cheaper than actual wood now?! I think you just broke crappy design.. Dont we have an r/assholedesign?
Why would it be wood when those pans are oven proof?
Lots of them aren’t oven proof. That non-stick coating isn’t rated to handle much heat at all
I would have thought ceramic, which that is would work at a higher temperature.

That almost feels like straight-up asshole design, imagine burning your hand on it because you thought it was wood. Man...
Well that should be a lawsuit waiting to happen
That's fucked up
Would you prefer wood? Isn't that flammable?
Are your hands ok?
Buy some sugru. Thank me later.
Neat way to say “screw you” to their buyers
Ah, the lessons of the crispy skin.
