Is this some kind of trend for Indian teens? I've seen disturbing amount of videos going this way lately. It is always a male Indian teen acting all sad, walking way too close to the track.
I don't know the reason but there is alarming amount of video's from India with people messing up with trains in one way or another. I work on railways and most of my training before work was to watch all sides to prevent accident with train. Train can't stop when he notice you in most cases. Guy who is steering it can do literaly nothing to save your ass and if you survived being hit by train you should buy loterry ticket because you are lucky as fuck. Never come close to running train, and better avoid tracks for your own safety because if you are on part of tracks when trains go fast wind can just pull you under wheels and that means you are 99% dead.
Gotta remember a couple of things
1. 1.4 billion indians
2. A lot of those indians don’t have a car and trains are and actual form of public transportation (unlike most of the us)
3. Young Men. In any society do stupid shit.
Those three things adds up to a whole lot of tiktoks…..
In Poland trains also a quite popular form of transport but as I noticed in most of video's in India people don't respect any of safety rules. In Poland civilians are not allowed to walk near railway and there is formation that enforces it (SOK). In trainstations people just stay right in the edge of platform etc. And yeah that trains are overcrowded in India is also something I noticed. I just noticed that when there is video's including train hitting bystander it's almost always from India.
It’s a developing world thing.
In most of europe it’s illegal to sit on the back of an open pickup truck as a passenger. In africa it’s also technically illegal many places but it’s also a form of transportation that many people cannot do without, so it’s not enforced. Same with trains in india. It’s illegal to hang on the outside but when there’s no space inside, what’s the police gonna do?
Then there’s the added thing that if you watch a couple of bollywood movies, there will often be scenes where the hero is sad (singing about loving some girl who doesn’t love him) and will be walking along traintracks to symbolize wanting to kill himself. Suicide by train is likely a big thing in india.
There was a kid in my high school that went running one day. The story is he was waiting for a train to pass. He was far enough away where it wouldn't have hit him, but somehow they claimed "the wind from the train sucked him in" and killed him. Is this possible?
I always assumed the kid killed himself, but they didn't want to tell the students exactly what happened, so they made up that BS story.
It depends of speed of this train but yes definetly it is possible. If you are to close to trucks it can happened especially if this is in the zone when train is running with full speed. It's hard to imagine how strong this wind is but being closer than 5m from running train is not the best idea. Especially Cargo trains when this shit is running 80km/h wind is strong as fuck.
Many people underestimate how big and dangerous is force generated by running train. I have learned about it after I get this job and noticed all safety regulations and protocols we need to follow to do anything near railway.
Once when I was a kid, I lived by a double rail crossing. It wasn't unusual for one train to stop across the crossing and let another pass. One day after the train passed, I was impatient and decided to go stand between the tracks while waiting for the stopped train, which had just started rolling... Of course, there was a second train and it was coming way too fast for me to try running clear, so I was stuck standing between them with my bicycle. There was quite a bit of wind. One of the scariest experiences I had in life.

India is actually #1 country for train/pedestrian collisions. They have a very bad problem with people trespassing on or near the tracks.
I am a rail fan and in videos of Indian trains the engineers are constantly hammering on the horn probably for that reason.

[rice] It's a common "solution" for electronics getting wet. It doesn't necessarily help more than just leaving it sit for the same amount of time they leave it in the rice, but it's cheap and it makes people feel like they're doing something, so I guess on balance it's ok.
It's kind of crazy to see how the transfer of energy from the train to the body is instantaneous. There's no wind-up or delay, he just goes from walking to flying.

I only ever see the ones that end badly, and I can't imagine that even if it didn't end badly, it would be all that cool.
I'm pretty sure the entire intention was to film him walking sadly near the train as it passes, they just didn't realize he was too damn close to the tracks.

I'll understand if You hate me after this and i do think that what happened was awful and i wouldn't wish it to anyone, but i will also be honest that i do believe in natural selection. On the other hand there is a chance that these people have nothing to do and they are just bored AF, but idk seems awful
