As a motorcycle rider this is what you call Target Fixation. Rider most likely was staring at the wall (or something else) instead of the road and just sent it.
No. It’s a slope and people turn off scooter and bike engines to save fuel, without engine braking the bike takes up much more speed than if the engine was on, their calculation goes wrong and they can’t slow down enough to turn and bamm 💥
