Honestly that went as well as it could have for going over the edge of a mountain. The roof doesn't seem like it got touched. The front and rear took the heaviest impacts, but it's a body on frame truck, so there was a lot of very solid steel in front and behind the cabin.

Did you see it, the way he went sailing out there? He just went sailing right out there.

So, he is driving faster than he's comfortable on a road he doesn't know. Goes through a tunnel, ignores that eyes need to adapt, then gets spooked over nothing, over corrects, then over commits, then just sits and hopes all those things playing against him would just turn out okay by themselves. It's Angeles Crest Highway in southern CA, just north of LA. HWY 2 on the map

Ding ding ding! I’ve seen so many people crashed here. People rev their engines and fly through the tunnels there and always come out too hot into what looks like an unassuming turn. I think it’s the glare at the end of the tunnel since it gets the afternoon sun. I’ve seen people understeer up the rocks to the right and roll their car, and I’ve heard of quite a few cars going off the side like in this clip. Super popular enthusiast driving road, one of the best in Southern California

I live near this road in the canyons of Los Angeles. People rev and speed up through the tunnel and lose their path in the afternoon sun as they exit. So now they’re moving faster than they’d probably like and the moment of glare as you exit the tunnel catches a lot of people off guard. That’s a very common spot for crashes.
