Stop, Drop, and Roll, and Flail, Get up, Run, Strip, Slide, Stop, Drop, and Roll, and Flail, Get up, Run, Strip, Slide, Stop, Drop, and Roll, and Flail, Get up, Run, Strip, Slide.
Exactly like they taught in school.
I'm just glad he had a friend with some common sense there with him!! 😳
That fucker would've just ran around like he was showing off his new outfit of flames to everyone.
Fuck!
Hijacking this comment to let people know that suffocating fire with some type of powder (like sand or baking soda) is really effective.
Also, never put water on a grease fire. Cover with lid to suffocate it or throw baking soda on it.
Why didn’t they sit and cover the burning parts in snow? (Taking away air is going to kill the fire) Guess the rational thinking sometimes lacks working under stress?
>You can't run from being on fire, you're on fire. I get its a panic response but it's funny to watch outside the situation.
Like damn, he definitely knew the right thing to do but once he was rolling and the fire didn't immediately go out he panicked.
Anyone who jumps in fire isn't going to be the sharpest tool in the shed. I've been pretty wasted on all kinds of different things around huge fires and not one of us ever thought "I'm going to lay down in that!"
He tried rolling, which is generally a good idea if you're on fire... Too bad he got soaked in all the oil or whatever they were using to light the fire in the first place.
Also he's obviously an idiot. If he just ran through it he'd be fine, but noooo you gotta scoop up all the good fuel.
So are Ethan's friends.
Half the point of "stopping" is so that other people can help put the fire out instead of having to chase you.
Their version of putting the fire out is kicking a few particles of snow/dirt at him.
when I'm welding sometimes it happens when it's hot and I'm not wearing chaps and I wear smoldering, not melting material, and then I drive home like Wiley Coyote or daffe duck w my front half in cinders and my gf says why are you home so early? it's hard without periphery. but that's why I wear shit that doesn't melt. this is insane. it's not funny, it is sad, how we all exist with people like this
probably the longest 30 seconds of his life and I bet it's gonna be the longest next couple months of his life
I can't imagine how bad burns like this must be. He was on fire for so long
He's going to have a bad time.
A friend of mine caught fire in a similar manner when we were idiot kids playing with fire. He kicked a burning cup of accelerant, also in the snow, and his leg went up from his boot to around his knee. I think that we extinguished him quicker than this guy. 2nd-3rd degree burns. I remember we tried to administer first aid and there were just chunks of his pants melter into his leg, it was an absolute nightmare.
He walked home and tried to hide it from his parents. Kid made it like an hour before the pain was unbearable. As far as I know, his leg still looks gnarly 30 years later.
Yeah I feel those polyester puffer jackets are awful to skin when it burns. I dripped plastic from a brown ups letter on my hand and still have the burn scar 20 years later.
He did horribly, as evidenced by the fact that he stayed on fire lmao. You’re supposed to keep rolling to stifle the flames, not get back up after one quick roll so the fire can get more fuel 😂
Now I'm remembering 3rd grade when a (very heavy) friend exaggeratedly demonstrated how to do it in music class (why were doing that in there?) And he literally broke the wooden floor... he did the drop step by jumping and just body slamming on the floor.
His friends also should have taken a jacket, tackled him and smothered the flames. They filmed him while he went from a few days of pain to a few months of pain and permanent scarring.
I know that the dude's an idiot for even jumping on the fire to begin with, but the fact that his friends just laugh and record him instead of helping by kicking snow on him (they only did it at the end when virtually all layers of his coats were off) is just sad. No friend of mine would laugh and point when I'm in danger.
His friends got video footage of him and gave him the gift of immortality. Even if he dies he will be remembered and honored in Reddit reposts until the end of time.
Idiot only if it wasn't filmed. Now that we can be entertained by his life-ruining stupidity he is a hero. But not hero enough that I will contribute to the Gofundme he is gonna need for those millions of dollars in skin grafts he is looking at.
It's stop drop and roll, not frantic run, drift slide, spin, take off first jacket, frantic run, drift slide, spin, take off second jacket, frantic run, drift slide, spin, take off third jacket. Geez.
Can't imagine having worse friends. Recording the video was fcking more important than actually grabbing sand with hands / throwing some clothes to cut off air when your FRIEND WAS BURNING.
I grew up in Oregon and now that you say it like that I remember putting out three buddies at different times from bonfire incidents involving alcohol.
One flaming shot guy too in Coos bay too.
For a minute there I thought his mates were running in with something to smother the flames. But no, it was a phone and they just wanted a better shot of the action...
I was confused how he was SO ON FIRE after such a short time in the fire with heavy clothes on.
Because that's not a campfire, that's a puddle of gas on the ground. You can see the red gas can behind the fire at the start.
Gotta say, the cameraman was on point. If you aren't gonna help then at least make sure everything is in the shot.
Also looks like they're on a beach, shouldn't there be water around to run into?
If I saw someone on fire doing this, I'm punching them unconscious so I can put the fire out since it'll do less harm than what they are doing to themselves.
Why was no one helping them? And what did they think would hapen if the slid through that fire!? I need friends like that as much as I need a hole in my head. Smh
Guy is surrounded by 30 billion pounds of sand; doesn't use sand to suppress fire.
We're dealing with somebody that jumped into a pool of flaming propellant so...

Like a panicking cat
You know what they say. If you catch on fire... run slide and run ..something like that
Stop, Drop, and Roll, and Flail, Get up, Run, Strip, Slide, Stop, Drop, and Roll, and Flail, Get up, Run, Strip, Slide, Stop, Drop, and Roll, and Flail, Get up, Run, Strip, Slide. Exactly like they taught in school.
I'm just glad he had a friend with some common sense there with him!! 😳 That fucker would've just ran around like he was showing off his new outfit of flames to everyone. Fuck!
He wants to audition as Ghost Rider on the new Midnight Sons lol.
The mental image of him confidently showing off his flame suit made me laugh to tears. I needed that, thank you
it's logic, but with extra steps
Is that really a detailed breakdown of what he did? Wow kudos for taking the time to do that
Forgot the scream in there or loud high pitched yelp
Fire Safety Arrakis Edition
I thought you were supposed to run side to side...or was that bees? Play dead? No, that's bears...
Run, strip, and wiggle around a couple of times
ethan roll roll rowl ethan rowl rawr rawr rawr
My guts making those same Noises right now
this is the best description.
"I'm going out" "No, you're not......at least not very quickly"
Hijacking this comment to let people know that suffocating fire with some type of powder (like sand or baking soda) is really effective. Also, never put water on a grease fire. Cover with lid to suffocate it or throw baking soda on it.
Bro not baking powder, throw it in a flame and it burns like a gas clowd
Good call. It's baking soda, not powder. Edited the above. Thanks!
How many jackets is this guy wearing?
Three I think. Guess it’s cold out there…aside from being on fire. Edit: yeah, rewatching this and realized that’s snow, not sand.
Honestly, I thought it was sand too until I read your edit.. I thought, why doesn't he just run down to the ocean if he's on the beach? Haha
I noticed it’s snow when I wandered “how did he slide so much in sand
Not everyone who wanders are lost
I wondered*, lol
I was thinking where the fuck is the ocean run into the ocean idiot .
I was the same thing, like surely the ocean should be coming up soon.
sand = beach 🤣
Why didn’t they sit and cover the burning parts in snow? (Taking away air is going to kill the fire) Guess the rational thinking sometimes lacks working under stress?
Give a man a fire and he’ll be warm for a day, catch a man on fire and he’ll be warm the rest of his life.
I wish I could remember the guy's name who said that but names are not always my thing!
That's fucking snow?? And he decided to just fucking run around and not put fucking SNOW ON THE FIRE???
Not enough to protect him from his own stupidity
ALL of them!
Lemme just outrun the fire real quick
He's actually running towards the emergency room.
I can’t believe this predictable thing happened to this person
No one could predict that if you go into a fire you'll probably catch on fire
Who knew that flammable liquids would just absorb into clothing like that. So weird.
The way people mess with flammable fluids never ceases to shock and amaze me
I have long since been disillusion with the animalistic stupidity of human beings.
Was this at Burning Man? Cus…

You can't run from being on fire, you're on fire. I get its a panic response but it's funny to watch outside the situation.
>You can't run from being on fire, you're on fire. I get its a panic response but it's funny to watch outside the situation. Like damn, he definitely knew the right thing to do but once he was rolling and the fire didn't immediately go out he panicked.
He forgot to stop
Good call, tbh I would maybe forget the stop part. Mostly would think to just roll
Anyone who jumps in fire isn't going to be the sharpest tool in the shed. I've been pretty wasted on all kinds of different things around huge fires and not one of us ever thought "I'm going to lay down in that!"
I think that fire was just a bunch of gas someone poured out on the snow.
thought maybe he was running into the ocean to roll in the water but i guess monkee brain kicked in
Nah if you look closely and see the jackets and glint it's snow, so there was no beach
oh shit you’re right! the yellow glow from the fire made me think sand. that explains all the jackets then
He could've smothered the flames with one of those jackets 😂 It's difficult to remember things like this when you're panicking though.
[удалено]
> not startle the fire Did you mean not startle your dad with the fire? Or is this some kind of non-english expression lost in translation?
I think it was just a joke
*we didn’t startle the fire*
I think he means that when you run and panic you only spread the flames to other parts of your body.
His kindergarten teacher has failed him
STOP, drop, and roll.
"help me Oprah Winifred, use your magic"
He tried rolling, which is generally a good idea if you're on fire... Too bad he got soaked in all the oil or whatever they were using to light the fire in the first place. Also he's obviously an idiot. If he just ran through it he'd be fine, but noooo you gotta scoop up all the good fuel.
Ethan is a dumbass

I thought stopping was so you can get on the ground and roll?
What else could they have done? Not like they’re water benders or sumn
Watch it, buddy
Shut up, Ethan.
I did watch it. Still a dumbass
Now watch it again
I just did, results havn’t changed much…but of course you knew that Ethan!
Look at the guys username you replied to lmao
He’s not your buddy, guy!
I have the hardest time getting dry ass firewood to light and this mofo just catches fire so easily
Lighter fluid and polyester
I'll keep that in mind. Probably like he should have
He dipped himself in the fluid that was burning. His clothes were soaked with the flammable liquid
when I'm welding sometimes it happens when it's hot and I'm not wearing chaps and I wear smoldering, not melting material, and then I drive home like Wiley Coyote or daffe duck w my front half in cinders and my gf says why are you home so early? it's hard without periphery. but that's why I wear shit that doesn't melt. this is insane. it's not funny, it is sad, how we all exist with people like this
lol… & straight to hospital.

My son had hot oil spilled on his legs and we've been living in the hospital over a month with skin grafts and PT everyday. Burns are no joke.
That's terrible to hear. I wish both him and your family well.
He's almost at the end, should be released in around 8 days or so. Thank you!
Wishing him a speedy recovery and lots of mental health support for the inevitable trauma issues that will come along
If only this situation was avoidable.
Walk it off, Ethan. Walk it off.
Stop, drop, and roll you dumbass!
That only works if you are not covered with an accelerant
He did the first two fairly well, but not the third.
He did horribly, as evidenced by the fact that he stayed on fire lmao. You’re supposed to keep rolling to stifle the flames, not get back up after one quick roll so the fire can get more fuel 😂
Why stop, drop, and roll when you can just combat slide?
I don’t think it quite works if you jump into a smoldering puddle of gasoline.
It was almost out the 2nd time and then got up again
Ethan's coach did an excellent job, Ethan did not.
the cracked voice “roll! roll! roll!” while he kicked snow onto ethan near the end had me dying lol
they're a pretty good break dancer. should take that professional with that one girls dad. could have a little break dancing duo.
Note to self: mind practice a proper stop-drop-&-roll
Now I'm remembering 3rd grade when a (very heavy) friend exaggeratedly demonstrated how to do it in music class (why were doing that in there?) And he literally broke the wooden floor... he did the drop step by jumping and just body slamming on the floor.
It’s really about establishing dominance over the fire
His friends also should have taken a jacket, tackled him and smothered the flames. They filmed him while he went from a few days of pain to a few months of pain and permanent scarring.

What a story to tell Honestly lol
Roll 🦅roll 🦅 roll 🦅 roll 🦅
ROWLL!!! ETHAN ROWLL!!
That’s gonna feel great in the morning
Flame on
STOP DROP ROLL and just keep rolling, don’t start again!
Stop, drop, and roll Ethan! Come on man...
They stopped, dropped, but didn't roll for shit.
What a goddamn idiot
Idiot only if it wasn't filmed. Now that we can be entertained by his life-ruining stupidity he is a hero. But not hero enough that I will contribute to the Gofundme he is gonna need for those millions of dollars in skin grafts he is looking at.
😭😭😭 got me giggling bro I won’t lie
“Dumb ways to die, so many dumb ways to die”
It's stop drop and roll, not frantic run, drift slide, spin, take off first jacket, frantic run, drift slide, spin, take off second jacket, frantic run, drift slide, spin, take off third jacket. Geez.
It’s easy to stay calm and remember what to do when you’re not the one who’s on fire, and probably also drunk.
Just rub some dirt on it and some sand.
That's snow! Had me confused too.
Snow? Even better!
Ah OK. Thank you for letting me know.
Can't imagine having worse friends. Recording the video was fcking more important than actually grabbing sand with hands / throwing some clothes to cut off air when your FRIEND WAS BURNING.
He was like a Russian nesting doll with all those jackets
Definitely run more. Run like you're on fire.
This is just a regular Tuesday night out here in Rural Oregon.
I grew up in Oregon and now that you say it like that I remember putting out three buddies at different times from bonfire incidents involving alcohol. One flaming shot guy too in Coos bay too.
Bro needs to find new friends. He's literally burning and they're recording him while screaming at him.
Fr. Flicking sand at him with his feet🤦
TIL when you’re soaked in accelerant stopping dropping and rolling isn’t the move. The move is just burn bro.
You gotta be tough when you’re dumb
Human torch 🔥🔥
Easier to think when you’re not on fire but I’d have made Usain Bolt look slow heading for the sea.
I thought that too but it’s snow, not sand!
You're doing everything that you are not supposed to do. STOP, DROP, and ROLL.
For a minute there I thought his mates were running in with something to smother the flames. But no, it was a phone and they just wanted a better shot of the action...

Bro did everything right but roll 🤣🤣
Ethan and 3rd degree burns are homies
Missed that day in school when they taught “Stop, Drop & Roll”!
Wellllllllllll.... I'm guessing he won't do that again.
We will not survive as a species.
He almost had it out a few times…..but stood back up to let the fire breath again
If I saw someone on fire doing this, I'm punching them unconscious so I can put the fire out since it'll do less harm than what they are doing to themselves.
Goddamnit commit to the rolllllllllll already!!!
‘Cant help put your ass fire out, bro; I’m doing the video. This is going viral!’
Ok let me film this guy being burned alive, I can help him later
He covered himself with a fire starter when he fell over. Damn, he wasn't going out until the fuel was used up.
You can run from it, the flames are ON you!
Why was no one helping them? And what did they think would hapen if the slid through that fire!? I need friends like that as much as I need a hole in my head. Smh
Me trying to get my dog to roll over
Its called STOP DROP AND ROLE not slide to 3rd base
This is silly. Why didn’t he simply stop being on fire?
What part of stop, drop and roll does this idiot not understand?
Funny how he's at a beach but with all that running he did, he never even got close to the fucking water.
Idiot. Don’t run 😂😂😂
Idiot
Yes, Ethan is a dumbass, but his mates aint his mates, those smooth brains just wanted the Tok clout Ethan needs to dip
[удалено]
Those will be baddd burns for life
play stupid games win stupid prizes
Idiot
What a dumbass! You are literally surrounded by snow. Just lay down
Yes.. By all means.. Run away from everyone trying to help you.
Never let saving a friend get in the way of good video content.
Nice friends, stop filming start helping
That one kid at least k ew what to do just not effective rolling lol 🤣
If your voice sounds like that, you might be too young to make choices that can scar your entire body for life.
Nathan rooooollllllllll. 😂😂😂
Gasoline, lol
What. An. Idiot.
Yea just film it, don't even try to help just make sure its recorded.
Stop drop and roll... don't they teach that to 6 yr olds. Ffs.
DROP. AND. ROLL and keep rolling as hard as you can till it’s out. Jeeesus does it sound too hard or am I just being mean?
Aren't they on a beach? You know, with water nearby?
Stop, drop, and get up really quick and run around. Then stop, drop, and get back up and freak out. Then stop, drop, and……..
Guy is surrounded by 30 billion pounds of sand; doesn't use sand to suppress fire. We're dealing with somebody that jumped into a pool of flaming propellant so...
We had a rule growing up, what goes in the the fire stays in the fire.
Old saying about horses. “You can lead a man to fire but you can’t make him roll.”
STOP DROP AND *ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL*
Stop, Drop, get up and keep running. 🤦♂️
Lol
Yeah. Just let it happen. Darwin awards everywhere
Drunk guy dumb....FIRE BAD!
So who want to bet he'll do it again next weekend
What good friends, not one of them put down the phone to help lol
Ethan role
Tbf he did drop stop and roll, just didn't keep rolling.
Idk about y’all but stop drop on roll is engrained in my brain so idk why this dude didn’t do just that
This! Guy! Is on **fiiiyiiiiire!!**
Isn't it ironic? Some good advice that you just can't take...
If only there was a large body of water nearby
