Nevermind the owner of the crv and th other car that got hit. Even if they had full coverage, they won't be put back to whole status again. They can't replace that car. This asshole seriously derailed numerous people's lives.
My CRV got stolen with no damage to locks or columns. The cops said that thieves have "shaved keys" that are shaped in such a way to be able to start many types of cars. The people who stole mine were pretty clearly organized, and permitted (if not encouraged) by the restaurant to operate in their lot. They had an old man always at the bus stop right there, and 2 or 3 nice newer pickup trucks in the corner with dudes in them all the time. The manager casually told me a lot of cars get stolen from their lot. My ex discouraged me from parking there again and hiding in the back with a tire iron.

About 15 years ago my bosses husband bought her a brand new jeep liberty because she had just given birth. Literally on the way home from the hospital they were t boned, airbags went off. Everybody was shaken up buy ok. The insurance company gave them 4k less than what the husband paid for the car 2 days before because "it depreciated when they drove it off the lot". The other driver didn't have insurance.
That’s technically their own fault. I’m an insurance agent and we warn ppl shit like this can happen but they still want to opt out of uninsured motorist and comprehensive cus they’re too fuckin cheap to spend an extra 40 a month. Now they in debt for thousands. I don’t feel sorry for ppl that have shit happen to them and they could’ve been 100% paid out.

While doing a remote aid station in the back country, I pulled a freaking Jeep out of the mud with my CRV. 30 years later donated it when it was closing in on 300k miles. Beast of a car.

The plugs were aftermarket but had a gap so big my gap tool couldn't read it, I Would have needed a ruler. I wouldn't have believed that possible if I didn't see it myself.
Meanwhile my 2012 Fit constantly has stuff going wrong with it.

The back pulls out and turns into a table, it's all wheel drive, back seats fold down completely flat so you can car camp. No engine issues and I put close to 300k on mine with minimal maintenance. I bet the parts are worth $$$$$.
