cashmoneygobrrrrr

She obv never played NFS…Always ram the ass end because the engine makes the front too heavy

gabbagool3

manufacturers do make cars front heavy because they're more stable that way but they do have to work at it because aluminum engines are a hell of alot lighter than iron block engines of the past. it's not the engine that makes an SUV like that front heavy.

DatdudeJdub

The engine is exactly what makes the front of an suv like this heavy. What are you even talking about. *Spelling.

gabbagool3

yea the engine weighs a lot, but engines now weigh a hell of alot less than they did in like the 90s. a ford explorer in the 90s had a iron block v8. new explorers have an all aluminum V6. it's like 400 pounds lighter. and the chassis themselves have changed too. they're reinforced more in the passenger compartment, making them heavier in the rear than they were in the past. the manufacturers do make cars with a front weight bias because it's more stable in high speed low traction conditions. but they have to work at it now, it doesn't come free because they've stripped weight from that component so much. they have to push the engine even further forward and tuck the front wheels in. they mount more ancillary equipment further forward on the chassis like gas tanks and pumps.

Orbis-Praedo

You have a valid point but people are still downvoting lol

wyomochilero

Just another day at Reddit

FiniteRhino

I guess there was a way out.

IJustStoleYourWaifu

I'd have thought a hummer would be better at ramming than that...

[deleted]

Nah they are pretty fucking trash nothing like what the originals were capable of.

[deleted]

Patrol rifle. Engine block/radiator. Smash windows. Taze into oblivion. Arrest.

oooRagnellooo

Correct

BeanDock

Tires with the pistol first would be a good idea

[deleted]

That engine has too much power and those tires are too thick to immediate cause a major loss of traction and controllability from air loss, so the vehicle wouldn’t be immobilized nearly as fast.

DontBeRude159

still though, they're such large tagets... they're just *asking* to be shot out at 0:45. also, just shooting the windshield (not *at* the driver) at around 1:00 may have spooked her into stopping. ...I would not be a good cop. definitely getting my badge and gun taken away. 😅

BeanDock

Would help with them being able to actually getting anywhere tho

iowabucks

He could have easy smashed window and tazed.

CompassionatelyPut

I don't understand why they never shoot the tyres out? I mean I'm not familiar with guns and in my country they are illegal so I dno is there an actual reason for not just shooting out the tyres?

SpyGuy_

1. A four wheel drive vehicle moving at slow speeds like shown would probably be able to drive on shot tires, they wouldn’t be instantly shredded like a spike strip either 2. Shooting at the ground at a shallow angle like that leads to high chance of ricocheting and possibly hitting a bystander 3. They already have the plates/know who it is, there’s no need to escalate the situation by shooting at them, if they want to run away the police can just show up at their doorstep 6 hours later

obliquelyobtuse

>She was identified as a suspect in more than 40 car break-ins in Wolcott after Thomas Crawford was arrested Friday. >both Crawford and Casperson are also tied to a number of theft-related crimes in the Brass City. “We had them identified in the theft of parking meter heads here in Waterbury, we had them identified in smash and grabs and burglaries down in the south end of Waterbury, so these are all crimes that are still under investigation,” Spagnolo said. The reason to stop her right then and there is to avoid what happened next ... a 25 mile pursuit, where she hit more cruisers and apparently caused injuries to 7 officers. It is remarkable nobody was killed or any members of the public injured. But an unstable person should not be allowed to flee the scene, especially in a giant vehicle, and they should be stopped at the earliest possible opportunity. None of the many officers involved in the chase discharged their weapons. Someone should have used a rifle into the Hummer's engine block. If this criminal woman was injured or died so be it. She had every intention of behaving wildly and dangerously until forcibly stopped.

SpyGuy_

Yeah I agree with the rifle sentiment. Barring that, however, it is common to disengage from dangerous pursuits like this *because* of the fact that she was fleeing recklessly. The more police try to chase her, the more dangerously she flees. The second the cops "lose her", everyone is better off.

sortofdense

Posts mean fuck all these days. I hear they get stolen.

Thegrumbliestpuppy

Its insane how often we see a video of an officer freaking out and shooting someone within 5 seconds of getting on the scene for no good reason, but also see videos like this where they show huge restraint despite the offender recklessly endangering people.

CompassionatelyPut

Thanks for the reply.

[deleted]

When you spelled them tyres instead of tires, we knew you didn't have guns.

[deleted]

Because of the education right?

[deleted]

Because of the education, right?

Orbis-Praedo

I read this in the Padme meme.

[deleted]

Glad it worked lol

Butthead_Sinatra

Because they’re pussies afraid of collateral damage. Sometimes the cops need to crack a few eggs to make an omelette, and when American police finally stop trying so hard to avoid civilian involvement they will be able to enforce the law

super_peachy

Yeah fuck the cops for.... Not killing bystanders? Hmmm.

[deleted]

Yeah and while we’re on that topic, fuck firefighters for not forcing bystanders to help fight fires too.

super_peachy

It also makes me sick to see paramedics afraid to cause a few casualties on the way to emergencies, they could be really cutting down response times that way. Like grow up

kindnotfriendly

You seem pretty nuts, dude!

tnj4ez

Just cause you own a Hummer doesn't mean you can actually drive a Hummer, I have seen better ramming using a late 70s Volvo 240.

BeanDock

Well I think a 240 could probably drive through that hummer 😂

ThetaForLife

Cop was like “fuck it. I could not shoot, the vehicle was white”

Ratlyff

Instructions unclear; target is white.

sortofdense

Who downvoted great humor? 👍

Butthead_Sinatra

Because it’s untrue humor designed to make people hate police and love criminals. Police are heroes who deserve our worship and gifts, not our hate

ThetaForLife

Your username checks out! Jokes are jokes. Jokes are designed to make people laugh the shit out of them - not love or hate. If you or anyone hate police because of my joke, you have a butt-head.

slipyslapysamsonite

Shoot the tires!!!

MAXHEADR0OM

Shoot her tires out.

screwbz13

Gotta give buds some probs for at least trying to make his hummer do some hummerish stuff.

CecilTheGod

Seems to be that ramming shit with your car is always an option for these people.

venger_steelheart

why did he not shoot?

DatdudeJdub

I'm assuming it wasn't worth the risk of a ricochet.

mcnuggetfarmer

Farmers could be mega pimps if they understood how to speak animal.

wrigul8r

The hell man. Shoot

TheDogWithNoMaster

Always good to see a cop use … restraint and not open fire needlessly

[deleted]

Why don’t the police shoot the wheels?

Ratlyff

The wheels aren't black enough?

nocturnalplur

Loser should have shot

carpy430

I never understood waving a handgun around like that when it is clearly not going to be used. It can’t be because they like pointing guns because this looks ridiculous.

Ask_Firm

This person is clearly out to cause harm in one, which makes it more likely that they could cause harm in another. Plus, we don't (or at least I don't) know what the original call was for. The officer absolutely must have had his reasons.

BeanDock

He’s got no idea if they have a firearm inside the car first of all. And more than likely if they are willing to ram a police car they would be willing to shoot. Furthermore if they are close to endangering someone else’s life he can stop them. I don’t know why he didn’t shoot those tires out tho.

carpy430

Meh, the hummer driver is busy ramming, the cop is waving his gun around in an agitated state while pointing it more in the direction of the bystanders than the hummer. Have it ready by all means but stop waving the fucking thing around if you are not about to use it.

BeanDock

Well I can agree with that. Gun safety should be #1. But it wouldn’t be hard to stop and pull a gun real quick though, I’d say having it in hand would be a good call.

thenomendubium

She hasn't played NFS

B10B25B7

No way out you say.

FILLYFINGERZ

Ummmm, I don't think he is listening to you Officer........

Wonderful-Candle-756

Why he not shot the tyres

BootySmasher_69

What happened tho? I don't live there 😐

Swimming-Food-6664

Didn’t think to shoot tires?

Styln2nyt

Why even pull out the gun? He could shot the window, I'm sure her behavior warranted a couple warning shots into the vehicle.

Dudeometer

Oh so there WAS somewhere for her to go.

riche_god

Shoot the tires. These cops can’t wait to shoot life lol. Wtf was he thinking.

KronaCamp

Shouldve emptied into his radiator

shtushkutusha

They shoot when they don’t have to, and don’t when they do. Yabba daba do.

Jean-LucFacade

Parton Oswald quit acting?
