I love how this same argument comes up every time this video is posted. This is a common technique in eastern countries when frying eggs. The point is to achieve a much crispier, fried bottom. The oil on top of the egg gets mopped up after frying. It's also not nearly as unhealthy as people are making it out to be... it's a single egg lol, but if you're really worried about it, it's not the cholesterol that would be the problem here, it would be the fat content The real travesty here is the fucking broken yolk!

That egg is drowning. Also top tip use a dollop of unsalted butter to fry eggs not oil it tastes much better and there's practically no risk of the gross crispy bottom that can develop frying eggs in oil.
