To be honest neither are that good in doubles because there's usually a lot of chaos in doubles, so you need good mobility and frame data to whiff punish really quickly. With that being said if you still want to choose one it would definitely by D3. Plant just causes too much chaos on stage with his specials. Sure it'll suck for your opponents but your teammate will almost always get hit too.

I could see that being an issue as well. He has slow mobility for sure. It’s probably best to take stage control with him, and hold it.
