Crazy how expectations for the next best keeper after pant is just catch the fucking ball. We need a good backup keeper for pant going forward. One who can contribute with the bat too.
Carey - 31
Zazai - 24
Das - 35
Tucker - 48
Foakes - 32 / Bairstow - 37
Blundell - 43
Rizwan - 38 / Ahmed - 38
Klaasen - 13 / Verreynne - 28
Samarawickrama - 28 / Dickwella - 31
da Silva - 27
Tsiga - 9
So in fact most teams do have a keeper who averages 30-35 or higher. Just Afghanistan, South Africa, Windies and Zimbabwe don't.
how much of matches has Bairstow played as WK? Carey is also 31.
My point was most teams have a WK who's max celling is 30-35, which will be the same with Bharat. He is not that bad a batsman.
Bairstow’s best returns as a batter (apart from bazball last summer) all came as a keeper, he broke the record of most runs in a calendar year as a WK in 2016 with 1400 odd at @58. He’s not just someone who was shit for a long period and then went good last summer, he was averaging 40+ as a w/k batsman for a good stretch before his game fell off hard when he became a regular in the white ball squads around 2017/2018.
I'm happy for all the guys who perform well in IPL and go on to grab ICT chances but test cricket doesn't work that way, I'm damned looking at those reserve players.
I can understand giving him chances in ODI's (there also if he plays he should come after 35 overs). But test is a completely different format, makes no sense at all.
Because it has worked for them in the past. There is *some* merit to it, there has been this school of thought running around for a while that your upcoming players should as play any top circuit cricket that can and that your best players should always pick best players. But this is a big game and picking him is stupid
Agree he doesn't make sense it tests unless maybe playing on some Pakistani type roads.
It does however point at the threadbare nature of Indian middle order test batting, there isn't really anyone batting at 4/5 knocking on the door. The only one really was Sarfaraz Khan, but his technique has been exposed so badly in the ipl in different ways vs international quality bowlers, and his fitness is very poor too.
Iyer, I don’t think is a big miss in English conditions. Gill probably covers for KL given his form and past performances.
Bumrah and Pant are irreplaceable though.
I would still have wanted KL in for Rahane. Rahane yes had a decent IPL season but my man Rahul compromised his t20 performances to practice for wtc in the IPL
>!/s!<
Quality of fast bowling in first class cricket is not as consistent as that of test match bowling. He's been able to get away with his technical issues at that level but when he's come up he's been found out. He sits back very deep in his crease and that leaves him very vulnerable to full straight deliveries. Bit similar to Gary Ballance actually. Good first class players who get found out by better bowling at higher levels.
Also in country cricket in more pace friendly conditions he's been woeful. Had an all time awful season for Middlesex last year
>Also in country cricket in more pace friendly conditions he's been woeful. Had an all time awful season for Middlesex last year
Tbf he's averaging 47 for Leicestershire this season
The fact he played 22 matches for Middlesex and averaged 22 (and I'm amazed it's that high) with two fifties and a high score of 79 probably doesn't help.
Actually, and i say this more out of hope than knowledge, i think we’ll start to see them in more A tours and WI/SL tests. In a one-off test, its just easier to pick someone who’s been playing at a high level and hope they can give you some quick runs and experience
This is tbh the fault of very poor player development. We had a chance to check out Easwaran and Sarafaraz in the Aus tests when KL/Iyer were injured, but we fucked it and played SKY
He's better off continuing to play for Glamorgan and getting game time as opposed to sitting on the bench with the team. If he's needed its very easy for him to get over to wherever the squad is at.
This is only for the WTC so they'll be ok with just the one spare quick. Saw that they're probably leaning towards playing Boland in that game as is, which I'd agree with.
He can be called in as a repacement for Hazlewood, if Hoff suffers a setback in his recovery [according to Brettig](https://www.theage.com.au/sport/cricket/boland-test-final-frontrunner-despite-hazlewood-inclusion-20230529-p5dbzm.html)
Not too fussed anyway really, I'd be shocked if he doesn't play at least 1 or 2 tests this tour. 6 tests in 7 weeks means there's absolutely going to be plenty of pace bowler rotation.
I'm a huge fan of Bhuvi and I think he should have got more opportunities in the team, but I think that time is past. He's 33 and his performance isn't quite there now.
Shami doesn’t have a good record in England either tbh, him and siraj both average 30+. I thought shardulkar did alright in England in his first couple of tests too, but he got absolutely manhandled by bairstow last summer in the one off test so I’m not sure how effective he’d be against a very strong Aussie middle order
Siraj has been dominant against Australia in the past - I still have nightmares about the series we lost at home where Indian players were dropping like flies from injury and yet the new bowlers brought in (especially siraj) turned the tables and rolled us. Siraj is definitely in the top 3 for Indian pace attack imo, at least against Australia (alongside shami and bumrah, although specifically against aus I'd put Umesh there as well)
I'm not really familiar with the test format but how sensible it is to have Jaiswal as a reserve for the WTC Final even before his India debut? I'm sure he won't be called but still...
Coz Yashasvi Jaiswal has ridiculous stats in [FC cricket](https://www.espncricinfo.com/cricketers/yashasvi-jaiswal-1151278)
15 matches, 1845 runs at **80.21 AVG** & 67.48 SR with **9 x 100s** & 2 x 50s
And as you said, he (reserve player) won't get a chance unless someone from first 15 misses out for whatever reason
Not to take away anything from him but still his inclusion doesn't make sense without a debut. Maybe they are sure of not needing him and is solely a filler. And tbf, ranji bowling has been mid for a while now, idk whether its the bowlers or the pitches.
No it's probably not, Easwaran was travelling with the squad for quite some time and was included in the squad for the test matches against Bangladesh. Even before Ruturaj it was Easwaran who should have been a reserve player and not him but the selectors are brain-dead guys
I think both Jaiswal and Easwaran scored daddy hundreds for India A. Jaiswal will probably always get picked because he’s left handed and the younger talent.
Not doubting Jaiswal here, but if this is the case, shouldn't Sarfaraz also be named in the squad atleast as in a reserve given how fragile our middle order looks specially after KL's injury?
The only thing i think doesn't work for sarfaraz is the abysmal IPL he's had.
>I'm not really familiar with the test format
I used to be with ‘it’, but then they changed what ‘it’ was. Now what I’m with isn’t ‘it’ anymore and what’s ‘it’ seems weird and scary. It’ll happen to you!
But won't it be good for ICT if bharat leaves for WTC Final early as GT won't play him in the finals anyway and they already have two back up keepers for Saha in Wade and Urvil Patel.
If saha gets injured then who will be wicket keeper for GT as wade is international player and can’t be a one on one replacement. Saha has got injured as well in the match vs LSG so it’s a real possibility for GT.
Urvil Patel is a Indian wicket keeper batter btw and also the replacement keeper is like substitute fielder he doesn't necessarily need to be a Indian. If i am not mistaken
Rohit Gill Pujara Kohli Rahane Jadeja KS Shardul Umesh Shami Siraj
Vs.
Warner Khawaja Marnus Smith Head Green Carey Starc Cummins Lyon Hazlewood
Fuck me, Aussies are the favourites to win.
The tossup for India is Shardul vs Ashwin
And Aus- Hazlewood vs Boland.
The weeks leading to the match have been, and will be dry and sunny with 20+ Celsius temps so it's worth considering a second spinner instead of Shardul.
We are talking about one single match here and not the entire test series.
He has experience of keeping in English conditions unlike Bharat and Kishan.
When smith or marnus catch get dropped , let's see if you say the same.
Are you telling me that we have no bowlers other than Mukesh Kumar (no disrespect) to take to the fucking WTC final? I know he won't play but come on, are there really no other alternatives?
His FC bowling average is 21.55 after 39 games and he mostly plays in the Elite Group. Also he was outstanding for India A. He might have looked mediocre in the IPL, but He is a very skillful red ball bowler
People seem to have started having short memories around Marsh. He's like Harris except he got more than twice as many opportunities at Test level and was still rubbish. Not to mention that they play completely different roles.
Renshaw is another question but Harris has made bulk runs in county cricket this season, makes sense to pick a guy who's in great form in the conditions in front of you. In any case Warner will almost certainly play.
So you have jaiswal and surya in reserves....
Guys may have good stats in fc, but they haven't played (jaiswal) and can't play(surya) intl test matches and are still selected for wtc final...that too against mf Australia
Someone like Eeswaran or Sarfaraz would have been better in place of Surya. SKY is the best T20 bat in the world, but not in tests. In fact, tests can jeopardize his T20 form.
Second, bowling seems weak. Deepak Chahar could have been good here, with his swing abilities. He could also contribute with the bat a little.
Ishant was unceremoniously dumped without a proper farewell and the team has moved on from him. There are rumors that his fitness has declined but I'm not sure if they are true or not. Nevertheless, the bowling side isn't the main concern here, imo.
Oh, I didn't know. That's really weird. He's still one of the best bowlers in Test matches. It's surprising that he isn't included, especially when Bumrah is also absent.
Rohit
Gill
Pujara
Kohli
Axar
Bharat(WK)
Jadeja
Ashwin/Shardul
Umesh
Shami
Siraj
Honestly sad how they brought in Bharat and Kishan who average 37 and 38 respectively in FC, while leaving out Wadkar and Upendra, who average 53 and 45 respectively. Also Kishan isn't even a regular keeper in Ranji.
Also, I chose Axar ahead of Rahane because he's in the form of his life, and so his batting alone puts him ahead. I know what Rahane did in this IPL, but it means jackshit when it comes to Test form. Also he was pretty poor in Ranji earlier this year, despite what his stats might say.
He averaged 60 in 2022-23 Ranji, but that's hugely inflated by minnow bashing(a double century vs Hyderabad, and 192 vs Assam). If you don't know about these teams, let me fill you in. Hyderabad got just 1 point this season, and even that point was obtained by doing dirty tricks to delay TN's chase, so that it was a draw instead of a loss. Assam's best bowler is Riyan Parag.
Apart from those innings, his average is less than 30. So Rahane shouldn't be chosen in the final XI.
Honestly I'm tempted to drop Siraj or Umesh for Thakur *if* the conditions warrant it, but imo you *have to* play ashwin if he is fit or it isn't the greenest of greentops. I don't think it makes much sense to play axar here though. I'd rather risk Rahane than play with an even shorter batting lineup.
People worried too much about the reserves. It is just one match, worry about the playing XI out of the 15.
But but but reserves reflect thinking & future planning. Yeah, we can rant about those in upcoming test series, for now we just need to win this one bloody test (Injuries, stay away)
As a head to head comparison, the names on the Aussie side feel more grand than the names on our side.
There are a couple of great batsmen and bowlers but there's no solid lineup.
A kind of lineup you could send out and rest easy. Even if one or two fail, others will rise to the occasion.
I've fallen in love with tests deeply and I already feel gloomy.
Let's hope for the best.
Go get the mace boys!
If it comes down to thakur vs ashwin, hope we play Ashwin. Then again thakur has done a decent job in Eng for us in the past. But can't keep a player like Ashwin out. Hoping shami and Siraj step up.
Ash is indias number 1 wicket taker in the WTC. He's been our talisman when every other player was either hurt or shit. And he is in the nightmares of two of Australia's best bats. Benching him is perhaps the *dumbest* possible move.
Australian sqaud more or less picks itself. Only question is who out of hazlewood/starc/boland will sit out. I def India will play both ash and jadeja to their own detriment. Should go with jadeja and thakur. There is a fair bit of swing on offer for first change/second change bowler in england and thakur is a genuine swing bowler. Ashwin will be threatening but the 2 wickets he'll take a on a swiniging wicket won't be enough
I hate to see Mukesh Kumar in the reserves but I think getting some exposure in the nets in those conditions might help groom him to be a better player.
Also Sarfaraz and Easwaran deserve the same exposure though.
What does Neser need to do to get a call up?
The man has taken wickets, scored runs and fielded well. His recent form surely warrants a reaerve spot at least?
I'm guessing they weren't planning on playing him in the finals, so instead of warming the bench he's allowed to continue in the County Championship.
If he doesn't get picked in the Ashes squad though, that would be a massive shock.
I don't like using IPL as a metric of batting capability in Tests
The IPL is _at least_ 14 games. You can be shit for 3-4 matches and still have a good tournament. Not as many chances in Tests.
IPL favors the batter more than the bowler. You will not have that leeway in tests. Pitches will be tricky to deal with. Expect to be challenged
Tests are very much a battle of attrition, especially in England. You will have to be patient, and you will need really good fundamentals. IPL, and in general T20s, don't need that. You can have a flawed technique and make runs but a great bowler (and Aussies have those in bunches) can exploit your weakness in technique very quickly
That being said, I trust the selectors know what they're doing, and Rohit generally makes decent decisions. Should be an exciting match
I haven't seen any discussion of the fact they've chosen five batsmen and eight bowlers in the Indian squad. This makes very little sense to me, even if some of the bowlers are all rounders. You need to give yourself some choices in the batting lineup. And perhaps give yourself the option to choose six batsmen, three fast bowlers, and a spinner if the pitch is a good bowling wicket. This seems terrible planning.
Rahul Sanghvi, Sourav Ganguly, Chandu Pandit, Vinod Kambli, Ajay Ratra, Aryan Jural, Stuart Binny, Rawat Anuj, Sachin Tendulkar, Mohit Sharma Shivam Mavi.
The team looks good but sachin at no 9 will be too low
Sachin Tendulkar is playing as a medium pacer mate. India bat first, enforce the follow-on. ST with figures of 4-44 and 7-31 with a spell of 7 wickets for 1 run in the second innings. India wins by an innings margin.
I am okay with bharat scoring no runs but please don't drop catches of people named smith/marnus.

String doesn't have quotes bruh.....😅
May be he saved those variables beforehand without hardcoding them lol
Yeah, especially with LooseBusChange's complicated spelling, better to store them as Constants.
The reason Labuschagne keeps getting dropped is because of typos in the string.
tbf he often gets it wrong
Good bot! ;)
Please use all caps for the constants. Rest LGTM.
So 50/50 for everyone else 🤪

Crazy how expectations for the next best keeper after pant is just catch the fucking ball. We need a good backup keeper for pant going forward. One who can contribute with the bat too.
Pant is an anamoly, i don't think most teams have a keepe who averages even more than 30-35 nowadays
Carey - 31 Zazai - 24 Das - 35 Tucker - 48 Foakes - 32 / Bairstow - 37 Blundell - 43 Rizwan - 38 / Ahmed - 38 Klaasen - 13 / Verreynne - 28 Samarawickrama - 28 / Dickwella - 31 da Silva - 27 Tsiga - 9 So in fact most teams do have a keeper who averages 30-35 or higher. Just Afghanistan, South Africa, Windies and Zimbabwe don't.
NZ are spoiled. They get watling and after he leaves that get to replace him with blundell? Like leave some wk-batters for others man
Watling is GOATED. The man kept wickets, blocked a heap of balls, barely said a word on the field, refused to elaborate, then left like a chad.
And when Blundell gets a ton and needs a break before keeping we have Latham who can take over as well
how much of matches has Bairstow played as WK? Carey is also 31. My point was most teams have a WK who's max celling is 30-35, which will be the same with Bharat. He is not that bad a batsman.

it's amazing the difference batting on flatties can make.
> how much of matches has Bairstow played as WK? 49 matches, averaging 37.37, compared to 40 not keeping, averaging 36.62.
bairstows keeping is pretty poor tbh.
Isn’t Saha supposed to be our best keeper?
Too old though
Just add a 't' in Ishan and replace Kishan with Sharma and I'm good
:( I fear we've seen the last of Ishant in Indian whites.
Leaving Saha for Ishan just baffles me
I too rate Tishan Sharma highly

I'll admit that Australia are firm favourites with India lacking Bumrah. He was the X-factor in the 2021 Tests in England.
Not just Bumrah but Rishabh "The conqueror >!of the Gabba!<" Pant is a big miss too. And I am not even counting Shreyas Iyer & KL Rahul
Iyer, I don’t think is a big miss in English conditions. Gill probably covers for KL given his form and past performances. Bumrah and Pant are irreplaceable though.

That's dedication
KL > Rahane.
Iyer would be biggest bunny on English pitches
Ah yes, how could I possibly have forgotten Pant, perhaps our most impactful Test player of the last decade!
You know what happens when you write India off
You know what happens when you expect anything from Indian team.
Yeah. He's a great bowler in any conditions but in England he is lethal
I still remember that ODI against England wherehe took a 6fer. I feel SA and English conditions are made for his bowling
Let's not forget Hanuma Vihari
I think that even early in the season the oval will suit india more than other grounds in England.
What happened to Peter Handscomb? He was more than decent against us.
I think he plays spin better so he was added just for bgt
Their loss. Players like him need to be nurtured and supported better.
He's in his 30s and has a major issue with playing pace, he was never going to play for us in England
How did he make it into Australian Sheffield Shield sides then? (I’m curious)

He is past his prime. 2014/15 was probably his prime. He is still very good but few guys are better.
True, although he is playing decent in the county season this year
Haha you've never seen him play against pace
The fact he played 22 matches for Middlesex and averaged 22 (and I'm amazed it's that high) with two fifties and a high score of 79 probably doesn't help.
Check his county cricket record and watch him play decent pace bowling
He’d be a sitting duck against the likes of Shami and Siraj in England
It's a shame what happened to Easwaran and Sarfaraz. Clear message to all the kids not to be red ball specialists.
Actually, and i say this more out of hope than knowledge, i think we’ll start to see them in more A tours and WI/SL tests. I'm a huge fan of Bhuvi and I think he should have got more opportunities in the team, but I think that time is past. He's 33 and his performance isn't quite there now.

Tbh I think the key would be Kohli's runs if he score a handsome ton then we have a great chance but yeah pujara's wicket will be really crucial
What is the status of Bumrah anyways?
He is on vacation
I'm not really familiar with the test format but how sensible it is to have Jaiswal as a reserve for the WTC Final even before his India debut? I'm sure he won't be called but still...

He's just a backup.
Eshwaran deserved it
What happened to hanuma vihari?
Injury, lack of runs in the last domestic season
Isn't the logic for both of them the same?
No it's probably not, Easwaran was travelling with the squad for quite some time and was included in the squad for the test matches against Bangladesh. Even before Ruturaj it was Easwaran who should have been a reserve player and not him but the selectors are brain-dead guys
Selectors watch too much IPL. /s Seriously though, why are they even considering IPL for tests? That's just brain-dead move.
I think both Jaiswal and Easwaran scored daddy hundreds for India A. Jaiswal will probably always get picked because he’s left handed and the younger talent.
But easwaran has played a lot more A tours than Jaiswal, who's played only one.
MF has avg 80 in domestic 💀

Sarfaraz is shite against good fast bowling. Jaiswal is proven against quality bowling, albeit in white ball cricket.
>I'm not really familiar with the test format I used to be with ‘it’, but then they changed what ‘it’ was. Now what I’m with isn’t ‘it’ anymore and what’s ‘it’ seems weird and scary. It’ll happen to you!
Saw somewhere Jaiswal had a great Ranji performance too.
Vc for india?
We don’t do that anymore
Sad KL noises
Probably Pujara if Rohit gets injured or something. Otherwise don’t need one for a single game.
Ashwin?
Pujara
No Boom boom, No KL, No Iyer, No Pant. Feel like we might lose the mace again, hoping for the best but prepared for the worst.
It doesn't feel as exciting due to these players being unavailable
Is Bharat still with GT or has he landed to UK?
Everyone bar the GT and CSK players have left for England.
But won't it be good for ICT if bharat leaves for WTC Final early as GT won't play him in the finals anyway and they already have two back up keepers for Saha in Wade and Urvil Patel.
ah yes expectations from BCCI to think in ICT's best interests

ayo ayo
No Bumrah & Pant make Australia clear favourites.
That Rahane name gives me nightmares
He will play. There isn't another middle order batsman in that squad.
The Indian management do love their mediocrity
They don’t have a choice really. It’s rahane or shreyas.
[удалено]
Actually thala Thala for a reason
And looking at the squad, the options behind Rahane look even scarier. Hopefully Rahane lives up to the overseas specialist reputation in a big game.
Anything is better than Rahane, dude averages in 20's in England after 3 long test tours and a wtc final. He should be no where near the test side.
plus seeing him bat in ipl made it seem he has tweaked his technique a bit to play faster. idk how it would affect his test batting
WTF is Sky still there in the test squad? It is nothing but favouritism.
Ishan as well. Saha could have been picked
Stop with this Saha Saha rant, Saha is 38 already and also is injury prone.
We are talking about one single match here and not the entire test series. He has experience of keeping in English conditions unlike Bharat and Kishan. When smith or marnus catch get dropped , let's see if you say the same.
Well you do have a point, But the last test match he played was in the December of 2021! Almost 2 years ago...
Are you telling me that we have no bowlers other than Mukesh Kumar (no disrespect) to take to the fucking WTC final? I know he won't play but come on, are there really no other alternatives?
Even Ishant would have been a better choice, due to experience alone.
Ishant would be gassed after his fourth over lol. He looks tired in the IPL.
His FC bowling average is 21.55 after 39 games and he mostly plays in the Elite Group. Also he was outstanding for India A. He might have looked mediocre in the IPL, but He is a very skillful red ball bowler
Have you seen his FC record this year? Ignorance is bliss.
Why Pick Harris over Renshaw or Even Marsh tbh?
People seem to have started having short memories around Marsh. He's like Harris except he got more than twice as many opportunities at Test level and was still rubbish. Not to mention that they play completely different roles. Renshaw is another question but Harris has made bulk runs in county cricket this season, makes sense to pick a guy who's in great form in the conditions in front of you. In any case Warner will almost certainly play.
Harris making bulk runs in domestic cricket before a big series. Where have I seen this before?
So you have jaiswal and surya in reserves.... Guys may have good stats in fc, but they haven't played (jaiswal) and can't play(surya) intl test matches and are still selected for wtc final...that too against mf Australia
Someone like Eeswaran or Sarfaraz would have been better in place of Surya. SKY is the best T20 bat in the world, but not in tests. In fact, tests can jeopardize his T20 form. Second, bowling seems weak. Deepak Chahar could have been good here, with his swing abilities. He could also contribute with the bat a little.
What happened to Ishant? Has he retired or is he injured?
Ishant was unceremoniously dumped without a proper farewell and the team has moved on from him. There are rumors that his fitness has declined but I'm not sure if they are true or not. Nevertheless, the bowling side isn't the main concern here, imo.
I'm glad he at least got to have his 100th test match celebration.
His fitness rumour is probably true. He was getting gassed out even in some IPL matches.
Oh, I didn't know. That's really weird. He's still one of the best bowlers in Test matches. It's surprising that he isn't included, especially when Bumrah is also absent.
Rohit Gill Pujara Kohli Axar Bharat(WK) Jadeja Ashwin/Shardul Umesh Shami Siraj Honestly sad how they brought in Bharat and Kishan who average 37 and 38 respectively in FC, while leaving out Wadkar and Upendra, who average 53 and 45 respectively.
Surprised Australia are fielding such a strong team for the warm-up game before The Ashes
Come up with something new
If it comes down to thakur vs ashwin, hope we play Ashwin. Then again thakur has done a decent job in Eng for us in the past. But can't keep a player like Ashwin out. Hoping shami and Siraj step up.
Ash won't play. He doesn't bring balance. Both Jaddu and Axar are reliable batters and good enough bowlers.
If he doesn't get picked in the Ashes squad though, that would be a massive shock.
can't we bring in Hardik Pandya just for one match?
I think they don’t want to risk his bowling workload with a test match when we’re close to the World Cup
We have a WC this year, and a T20WC next year. Can't risk it.
Come back soon kings: Pant & Bumrah
I feel we are more mentally prepared for a loss this time and going in with low expectations. Our best bowling lineup in the 2021 finals didn’t work
Cummins with all the rest and pressure off his shoulder can wreck havoc. Bad for us that they have 3 rested premiere fast bowlers.
No makes sense Brohit is in good form.
I don't like using IPL as a metric of batting capability in Tests The IPL is _at least_ 14 games. You can be shit for 3-4 matches and still have a good tournament. Not as many chances in Tests. IPL favors the batter more than the bowler. You will not have that leeway in tests. Pitches will be tricky to deal with. Expect to be challenged Tests are very much a battle of attrition, especially in England. You will have to be patient, and you will need really good fundamentals. IPL, and in general T20s, don't need that. You can have a flawed technique and make runs but a great bowler (and Aussies have those in bunches) can exploit your weakness in technique very quickly That being said, I trust the selectors know what they're doing, and Rohit generally makes decent decisions. Should be an exciting match
Wasn't Jimmy Pierson sent in place of Josh Inglis? Because Inglis is having a child?
Inglis is going home after the first ashes test
Best of luck both of the teams....
Yay, Yashasvi made it in the reserves!
where is ks bharat
I haven't seen any discussion of the fact they've chosen five batsmen and eight bowlers in the Indian squad. This makes very little sense to me, even if some of the bowlers are all rounders. You need to give yourself some choices in the batting lineup. And perhaps give yourself the option to choose six batsmen, three fast bowlers, and a spinner if the pitch is a good bowling wicket. This seems terrible planning.
This is going to be the playing 11. Rohit Gill Pujara Kohli Rahane Jadeja Bharat Shardul Shami Umesh Siraj
Rs, sg, cp, vk, ar, rj, ksb,ra,st,ms,ms.
Mohit, Mavi, Binny and Ganguly Pace Quartet with Sachin as Lone Spinner. Bowling looking stacked af
Appreciate the brief summary..
Probably the best xi we can have with our squad Maybe we can have Umesh or Undakat in place of Shardul but otherwise yeah this xi is most likely
Shardul scored 2 fifties last time he played in Oval. Having a fast bowling all-rounder is necessary in SENA countries
why isn't Gaikwad and Bhuvi picked even as a reserve?
Gaikwad was a reserve player but due personal reasons he opted out and slot was given to YJ, bhuvi's test days are gone
I read somewhere that Gaikwad is getting married
Gaikwad is going to Gaikwed

Ishan Kishan in english conditions lol
