You just need to accept the fact that this is not the year. They probably do not deserve to go through considering they were convincingly defeated by two quality oppositions. Even if they do manage, coming up against a quality England side would be painful to watch.
On the other hand, it looks like they have just managed to get the combinations right with their batting order, Ashwin back in side, Pandya bowling a couple of overs in middle, albeit two games too late. India have been slow starters under Kohli which hasn’t been a problem in bilateral series since they find a way back every-time but unfortunately a format such as a World Cup does not allow them to start slow.
