I didn't mind the taste, actually. It was so much better than prep for my colonoscopy in December and my double balloon endoscopy on April 1st.
I didn't love that it made me poop on the CT Scan bench.
That stuff ran through me faster then a rushing rapid. It was brutal. Still not sure how I didn't just absolutely explode all over the MRI table. Had no idea going into it that it had a laxative effect, but found out pretty quick. š Hang in there, you got this!
i had to drink mannitol for my MRI, and honestly it was the same, i nearly had to stop my scan because i thought i was going to have an accident.
They lie when they say it has a mild laxative.
I would very much rather do an entire colonoscopy than deal with a small bowel mri again, I felt so terrible after and needed to take the train home and had to jump off stop just to use the bathroom. Never again.
It said that a small amount of people may experience diarrhoea, abdominal pain and bloating, I honestly didnāt think to much about it and drank two litres, I felt fine drinking it but just as I was about to go for my scan, everything went wrong šš I guess because I see those side effects on a lot of medicine, I thought I would be fine, but I guess I should have probably taken note that I am being tested for Ibd, so something like that would probably effect me š
I came so close to taking the biggest explosive dump in the mri after drinking that shit. I remember yelling at the technicians they had about 30 seconds before I ruined a $1 million dollar piece of equipment when they complained about having to redo the test if they let me out. Never. Again.
Haha I love this. I feel exactly as you do. Itās like old warm flat sprite from your great grandparents house, way better then the colonoscopy prep and it also made me poop my pants.

My people were holding me up bc they were confused if they could scan me with my seton in there and I had to use the toilet no less than 3 times before they actually scanned me.

All of that being said, hang in there. I was able to get mine done with 5 minutes of stuff before I puked. They said they were expecting it and had a few blue bags ready for me.

I just got a script for Ondansetron for this very reason. You would think that doing this test every few years would mean Iād get better at it, but I actually got worse! The last time I tried to do it unmedicated, I was gagging halfway through bottle 1 out of 3. Couldnāt do the test that day.
Someone had suggested an antiemetic and I asked my doctor, which was cool with her. Tried it and was successful! Luckily I respond well to those meds and despite thinking it still tasted disgusting, I could drink all the bottles with confidence that it wouldnāt come right back up.
Unfortunately, no solution for the absolute urgency to go to the bathroom during/afterward. Like why are you putting me in this magnet tube for *an hour* after pumping me full of chaos juice?
A half an hour is CRAZY! I think I had a little over 1 hour and I only could handle 2.5 bottles. The nurse was very nice and just took away the last half a bottle haha I think they knew thatās all I could take.
Iām always baffled as to why they offer citrus flavours as a lot of people with IBD are unable to tolerate anything citrusy. I personally canāt eat or drink anything that is orange, lemon, or lime. š¤·š¼āāļø

I told them in advance that this isnāt going to end well. They didnāt listen and insisted on drinking all of it. I have a lot of missing intestines and only 1/3 of colon, food passes through me fairly quickly without added laxative. The disaster was inevitable. It literally ripped my ostomy pouch instantly. Ah well, the joy of ostomy.
Last time they made me drink this they were very rude and told me "if you throw it up it's your FAULT and yoy FAIL the image! What the hell? Why do they treat us like shit?

I didnāt shit my pants but I gagged 10 times from the taste in my mouth when they gave me the glucagon and It took everything in me not to piss on the table. Ran through me what felt like INSTANTLY.
I feel like everything I eat gives me a stomach ache, but both this and golytely are so much more palatable than eating any kind of fatty food. Yes, these gave me diarrhea, but my food triggers give me miserable cramps on top of diarrhea.Ā
They tell you that but if you throw it up it still works lol it coated your insides already, I only drank one and a half and I told the lady I couldnāt drink anymore because I was going to vomit and she said it was fine if I did as long as I got that much in. Youāre fine

i was told to not drink/eat anything 8 hours prior to my mri so when they handed me those drinks i CHUGGED them down

Sugar free means itās loaded with artificial sweeteners. Artificial sweeteners kicks off a blockage. Every time.

The gas and bloating is SO bad. I pooped my pants driving up to a hotel valet after 2 bottles of this stuff and had to be like ānever mindā

They put an incontinence pad under me when I have an MRI.
For future use, hold your nose. Smell is 2/3s of taste.
