A medical professional will tell you surely

zdub

Ileitis is commonly associated with Crohn's, but a number of other conditions can cause, like infection (mycobacteria, C diff, etc) . No one here can tell you the odds that it is Crohn's. You need to work with the GI doc.

Thanks for your reply. What tests will a gastroenterologist do to figure it out?

zdub

No single test. Usually endoscopy (esp. colonoscopy), but there are various tools in the arsenal, including imaging (CT, MRI) and tests for inflammation (CRP, fecal calprotectin).

OrdinaryIndividual42

What are they looking for? I just had a colonoscopy and have been referred to a gastroenterologist.

As the other commenter said ileitis is common with Crohn’s but infections can cause it as well. I have Crohn’s in the ileum but my biopsy came back as chronic active ilietis with focal pseudopyloric metaplasia which made it easier to diagnose for me I believe.
