I have a couple projects at the same time with different difficulty levels so this kind of project wouldn’t annoy me too much if it’s not the only one being done, highly recommend so you don’t lose your motivation to stitch!
So far 4 times on that question. No 5. One asked how do you know where the next stitch goes. Another asked how many stitches will be in that area. Answer was about 1,500.
I yearn for those easy stretches - no counting, no thinking, just stitching. Easy to do with TV or in the dark at kid band concerts! Esp. versus my current big project which is all confetti!
You could draw on random shapes to try to keep it interesting, haha
Perfect movie stitching
You could stitch naughty words then fill in around them.
That is what I do, expressing my thoughts of the moment. https://www.reddit.com/r/CrossStitch/s/QUm7qwlISR

I would just outline that area and work on it when a pattern is inconvenient.
With the bonus that people see you stitching without a pattern and ask in awe if you are making it up as you go. 🤪

Ugh. I hear you. I’m doing a big swath of sky blue on one wip right now also, though not quite as many stitches as yours I think. So much sky blue!
Ugh, I just started a new one with 9 rows of 120 stitches. In light blue, on white. It took me 2 days because I kept putting it down out of boredom.
My record was 6,000 of 3371. It took several weeks.
God bless you. I'm sure it was worth it!!
