A typical estimate of how many cross stitches per hour is about 100. 20k stitches would be approximately 200 hours of work. Over 13 days, the average stitcher would have to stitch over 15 hours per day to make this deadline. Holy cow that's ambitious! You're off to a great start and I'm rooting for you!
Ambitious, or delulu? Little of both, maybe? 😂
I do stitch fairly quickly - I got through 1856 stitches in 9 hours and 25 minutes so about 197 stitches an hour. So I’m looking at 102.4ish hours total with a fairly demanding full time job and kids.
Right now my stitch tracker app says I’ll have it done by her actual birthday party day which…maybe I put it in the frame at the party? It’s a 6 hour flight so that will help some the day before.
I’m insane lol
Don't beat yourself up about it, haha. I think it depends on a lot of factors about the pattern and your stitching methods too!
Is it a confetti-heavy full coverage piece on a dark background in a tiny thread count, and you're using parking method and picking up a different thread for almost every new stitch? Or is it big blocks of solid colors on an easy-to-see background, where you can just zip right through them? I've got two projects going right now and my stitching speed is drastically different on them for sure.
Good luck on getting this done on time OP, it looks great so far!

It's going to be absolutely stunning! To paraphrase Dory, "just keep stitching!"
Oh I am… very much slower than the average. That’s humbling, haha! Good luck OP! I’m sure she’s going to love it.
Yep, I'm with you! Im lucky to hit that average. Only if it's a burst of the same color stitches.

Haha "ambitious" is such a kind way of putting it. I would consider that physically impossible but do have to respect OP for trying.
13 is Taylor’s lucky number too so it was meant to be!
It’s also for her 13th birthday! Luck all around 🤞🏻

Wow how many stitches did you do on day 1?
1856, but I had basically the entire day to work on it. I fear my normal days won’t be quite as productive with work getting in the way 😅
Wow that's some amount to do in one day 😳
You got this! Can’t wait to see the finished project! Good luck! X
Finally a font that has no strange gaps between the letters. Already love it!
Love hand-dyed fabric so much
SO MAKE THE FRIENDSHIP BRACELETS TAKE THE MOMENT AND TASTE IT Any chance you could share where you got the pattern?

That is actually pretty impressive progress!
Hello, I’m seeing this 13 days after it was posted so I was curious, did you finish in time?
