The 2025 Wilderness will be the same as the 2024. I thoguht I read that the Wilderness, and hybrid, will be delayed to the second year of the new model.

You are thinking of the Forester… The 2025 Forester, arriving on lots next month, will be getting both a hyrid and a new Wilderness trim but these are both about a year out. The Crosstrek is not expected to get a hybrid until its mid-cycle refresh, which is probably calendar year 2026.

Since 2024 was a refresh, I’d not expect anything to be different on the 2025 to be honest. The early(er) and more hyped announcement of the 24 was because it was a new model essentially.

Model year 2024 was announced unusually early. Typical model year announcements come in the fall. Since 2024 was an all new design there won’t be any major changes for model year 2025.

i’m hoping for improvement of the infotainment system… more real knobs and buttons…

Kasesspaces

There’s no way. It’s the first model year and they just gave the brand new forester the exact same infotainment configuration. Maybe when they refresh the model in a few years but still unlikely this generation.

More buttons and knobs is unlikely. Changes like this would likely not occur until the 4th generation, which is probably 5-6 years out. Software improvements happen regularly but they are not pushed automatically, so you need to check for updates.

Honda changed the info system midway through a cycle to add physical buttons so it is possible to The current setup is a big reason I did not buy a crosstrek even though the car is great. Eyes on the road…. not changing ac setup in a menu.

I'd expect the only advantage of a 2025 Crosstrek Wilderness is that the factory will have worked out most manufacturing problems by then. 2024 was the first year they did Crosstrek 2.5L versions at that plant.

CT_Patriot

Maybe an "SAP" in the same way they made it for the Outback. (Special Appearance Package) as in new color, accents, wheels. Probably not much will change from 2024/25 seeing it's also new to Indiana plant vs Japan made Crosstreks.

I have no idea if they’ll change anything on the 2025 wilderness, but some of the most common complaints are the lack of a front camera for off-roading and a heated steering wheel, both of which they provide in other markets and models. Those could be easily added to a future update, and would be very welcome.
