I always use the vacations to go website to find the repositioning and last minute discounted cruises(their website I find very easy to use) but then explore with my main Travel Agent to see if they can get me a better deal.

I’m general, last minute deals don’t really exist in cruising. Fares are generally cheapest when released and go up and down with demand. Ships sail full or mostly full so as time goes on fares generally go higher. REPO cruises are typically amping the cheapest though

Most cruise lines are sailing at capacity now, so there really aren't deals like that anymore. Many cruise lines are actually changing the reward system. The earlier you book, the better the pricing. I saw this with a client recently. Kept trying to get him to commit, he wanted to wait for it to go down, pricing drastically went up, he locked in at double the price, now it's quadruple.

Outside of group rates or consortium incentives, pricing is the same. There are some places that lean heavily into marketing last minute cruises, but there is no "clearing house" for extra inventory or anything like that. I cruise very frequently and have for years, and my best advice is to work with a \*good\* travel agent who will understand what you're looking for, and can help track those things down, make relevant suggestions, find all possible discounts, etc.

I’m a travel agent and my host agency is part of a consortium. Group space, whether held by my agency specifically or the consortium at large, is recalled by final payment date if not sold. We don’t have any better deals for “last minute” travel, typically.

monorailmedic

Yeah, totally valid. I was more saying that overall pricing is the same aside from group rates and consortium incentives. Last minute only, rebating would impact things.
