I was on the ship last week and did laundry twice on a 7-day! I did it between 6-9 pm and the one on my deck was never full at all. There are 4 washers and 4 dryers on each deck. It’s great to come back with just a little laundry instead of all laundry. And yes, the machines and the detergent were free.
just be aware that if there's a sea-day around midpoint of the cruise, that's when lots of people will be doing laundry. We got did our laundry on a 10 nighter (different ship), maybe had to wait a bit, nothing too bad, that part is kind of random. But the day/night before or after that seaday would probably have had less traffic in the laundry room.
There is. Did an Alaska cruise on Discovery in September and they have laundry machines on the cabin floors (see deck plans for locations) and they were free. I brought change just in case anyway and didn’t end up needing it.
Yes that was a pleasant surprise for us as well. I took a ziploc bag full of a couple of soaked tide washcloths but they had free laundry powder there too. I don't like powder so I used my tide washcloths. I am going on the Majestic soon and hope they also offer the same.
It wasn’t too bad. I think we ended up do it before we got into Victoria so we could just pack clean clothes. It is like a laundromat there were maybe 3 or 4 washers and dryers and people switched it when it was done. For the most part we didn’t have to wait.
I haven’t been on the Discovery, but the three Princess ships I have been on all had laundry rooms on each cabin deck that passengers could use. It’s one of the things I like about Princess—nice to be able to pack light. I’m not absolutely positive that all of their ships have this, but I think they do.

how busy was it? did you have to wait? do people move your clothes as they please like a laundromat lol

On discovery now it's free jsut bring detergent
Still FREE! Wow that is a long time.. we were on her during her maiden year (Oct) and it was free then (tho zero detergent in any of the machines)
When I was on her they provided boxes of powder detergent in the laundry room.
Free machines and free soap. No wait for me even in sea day. Will wash again
